    I have one of those and it is my 2nd one. One thing you mentioned is the guard lock used for storage. It actually should be in the lock position while using it to keep the guard from moving/sliding. It also cuts 3/16” foam board nicely! I tested it. I believe that is the thickest of anything it will cut. I love mine!! I, too, tried cutting chipboard from back to front and the blade got stuck in the guard. Fiskars sent me a replacement! They have great warranties on their products and also great customer service!

    Hi George! 😊 I too own this same model, which I purchased specifically because it is self-sharpening, cheaper than the heavy duty guillotine, and would cut chipboard. It has worked fine, but I agree, it is not very useful if you need to cut lots of chipboard. I had looked at the same guillotine model you recently reviewed, and am leaning towards it after seeing your video. It is pricey, but thankfully, you have shown how easily it will work for my needs. I'll talk myself into it soon enough! 😊 As always, thanks for sharing!

    Hi George! Sorry I'm late to the party! Life has been crazy! Good review as usual. I own this trimmer and only use it for chipboard. I use my 20 years old plus guillotine for multiple paper trim, and my Fiskars paper trimmer for singular paper cuts. For fabric I use a rotary trimmer by hand, or scissors. I did peak at the industrial guillotine, but it is out of budget for me until I get a bigger craft space. But now I know it will be a good purchase due to your excellent reviews. Tfs! ❤

    I'm fairly new to paper Crafting, but I love it. I have a Fiskar cutter, (looks similar) but not that one. (I didn't pay that much). I bought an old fashioned guillotine cutter at Goodwill for cutting chipboard which works great. Thanks for the review George, but that's a little pricey for me right now.

    GM George, this Fiskars tool was my first and I still have it, basically I just use it to try to cut my chipboard with it~ I would love getting something better but because this looks big and rich I have to stick with it per hubby (lol) until it breaks. I just invested in one those Scan n Cut machines that I always wanted so for now my next cutter is on my wishlist! I'm having fun with my Scan n Cut machine to me it saves me $$$ in buying metal dies now, all I do is stamp my image scan it and I can die cut through my scan machine ~ love it. TFS your thoughts on this cutter, enjoy your crafty day!

I'm still learning it but it does wonders, I can download lots of free clip arts and just print them out and scan it to make my projects. Can't wait to make my Christmas cards with it, this will save me lots of time from stamping individual, now I will be able to do multiples like mass production, LOL~

    I found blades at Hobby Lobby (I have the same We-R-Memory Keepers cutter and scoring), but they dull so quickly! They are calling this rotary, does it have the round blade like my fabric cutters? Lort, my shoulder just kills me cutting the chipboard with my knife, so if I still have to hold it down hard, may as well keep on my knife and save the money.

  • @thepaperpandacrafts2038

    @thepaperpandacrafts2038

    Yeah, you’ll have to hold down the chipboard very hard, it does have a round blade. I would check the blades from hobby lobby because I thought the same thing and I bought them from hobby lobby but they are for the new version of the trim and score board. 😞

    I haven’t tried that but I don’t think so, you have to put a lot of force behind cutting medium weight chipboard that is about 1mm thick. If you are going to be cutting this on a regular basis you might want to invest in a heavy duty cutter, I have a few videos about the one I have. If you just need the one piece cut then try your local office max or Office Depot. Hope that helped 😊

    Perfect thumbs up but I have a question. Do you know how many pieces of regular white card stock ie 80 1b you can cut at a time, and how many pieces of 110 pound card stock you could cut at a time? And I’m OK with my Fiskars for cutting one piece of card stock at a time, but I’m looking for something that I can use instead of running to Staples and having them cut a whole ream of paper for me. It only cost me $12, but I’d rather just do paper paper at home and pick the sizes I need for each project. Thanks

    I hate mine with a passion. I'm a big fan of Fiskars and I was so disappointed in this product. I don't know if I got a defective one cause I only used it a couple of times. I really wish I had seen your video before buying it. To say that you have to hold it down and use a lot of strength is an understatement. I almost pulled my shoulder out of its socket using it. I heard a pop and the blade actually came off the track. I had to unscrew the back to put it back in place and even though it's on track it is still almost impossible to cut chipboard. I'm going to have to give it a big big thumbs down. I've had it more than 2 years so I can't even return it for a refund so I'm basically out my money. 😑😒👎
