excellent review, Darlene. I did a search and your video came up! I was looking not only for the "good" but the "bad" before I invest a good chunk of money on something....so your pointing out the flaws in this design was really important to me. I can easily "live with" those but am so happy to be forewarned about them before my purchase. Thanks!!!

WOW! Maybe the best, most objective review of any craft tool I've ever read. Can't thank you enough for your review. You hit the nail on the head for me, because my need at this time is for narrow strips of printed material, and clearly this is not the best choice. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Thank you, Darlene! I have watched your videos for years, so when I searched "Fiskars Procision" and saw your vid, I knew I had reached a review I could trust. I can live w/these minor issues, too, for the sake of straight, clean cuts and never replacing the blade. I'm pretty sure I'm going to purchase one in the next few days.

I purchased one today and thank you for explaining how to use the ruler on the right hand side. I could not figure it out at all.

Hi Darlene, thank you for your very detailed review. I just bought this trimmer, and love it, it’s too bad that it still has some of those little negatives. I don’t remember if you mention this, but you know that the 6” mark is actually 1/8 over than it should be. That’s because the hinge is there and I also think that the left panel sits a tiny bit lower than the right panel. It doesn’t bother me, I’m not making cards, but I want a nice clean cut, even for thicker paper, I use a lot of watercolor paper. I have a smaller Fiskars which is really good for thinner paper. But now actually I was deciding between this one and the Tonic Sudios 12” guillotine (it’s not foldable) and although right now both cut very clean I’m going with the Fiskars I think because it has the self sharpening blade and lifetime warranty, although about $20 more expensive than the Tonic. Also it looks nicer. But wanted to ask you, do you ever use the measurements to the right of the bars and blade? I don’t know how would you cut from that side, why did they put those there ? And so after a year are you still happy with the trimmer? Thanks

HELP .......😲I just bought this trimmer and I was trying to cut a 110lb cardstock. The blade jammed midway through the cut. Tried several times and still the same issue. tried a thinner paper (65lb) and yes, it cut beautifully but but, it seems as though the blade in the mechanism is so tight I could hear what sounded like small springs coming apart. It took a lot strength to push the cutting blade across my paper. Then, when I tried to cut a piece of paper at 1/4 inch, it came out so curly that it wouldn't straight in out. I did return it BUT my question to you is...was it just faulty and should I try another one or should I buy a different trimmer..I really prefer a rotary blade....🤔

It is a very tight blade, which is why you get such a nice cut. Mine comes out curly if I'm cutting a very small piece - I don't think it was as big as 1/4" though. It should definitely not jam on 110lb cardstock, so it sounds faulty to me. Maybe try another and if you still have issues, call Fiskars support?

I use the fiskars with the coil for small cuts and light paper. No problems with it. I am replacing my guillotine and believe I will get this fiskars for heavy papers eg cutting card bases

Thanks for video and explianing the six inch issue. I have a question: If I cut a 8 inch paper, and measure suppose it cuts ABCD rectangle with AC being left side, will distance between A and C will be same as C and D even if I cut large size paper? I always find there is 1/24 or more difference in size and thus not accurate? Can you check this? It can help me with buying decision. Thanks.

seems yours doesnt take force to cut. Mine squeaks and I have to push a bit hard. I'll have to oil mine XD. Thanks for showing how easy it is
