    I have had this trimmer since about last May (2014) so over 9 months, and I love it, love it, love it!!! It is the absolute best trimmer I have every had. The blade is just as sharp as the day I bought it and it cuts so straight and without fraying papers on the cut edge. It is very accurate too! The only other thing that I don't think you covered was that not only do you have a 13" cutting surface on one side, you also have up to a 2 1/2" cutting surface on the other side of the blade. Great review for a great product!!!

    I have this trimmer and the blade is self sharpening. If you get ragged cuts, just run it back and forth a few times and it gets better.

    Hi there! Yes in the video i only showed cutting 2 sheets of 65lb cardstock it was just two small squares, But yes it cuts just as easily thru 4 layers. I tried 4 layers of 65 lb cardstock when i was cutting with out prior to the review. You also dont have to lift the paper guard each time. paper and chipboard will slide under it easily enough which i did not show. But its a great trimmer so far. :) tfw!

    Thanks for the video, Monica. I just found mine. Under the couch in the box no less! DUH. Well I don't have my craft room organized, I am working on that now, so maybe by the end of the yr I will have it done. I know exactly where I want to put this trimmer since it is so big... Are you able to provide the thickness of the "medium" weight chipboard in mm? I'm looking for an accurate and efficient way of cutting at least 1.5mm chipboard down to squares ranging in size from .5 to 1 inch.

    I don't have any of this weight chipboard at the moment. I filmed this video 5 years ago. If I recall correctly this was .40pt chipboard so I want to say most likely about between 1-1.5mm

    So almost a year later, what's your take on this trimmer? I have the 12" "Scrapbooking Rotary Trimmer" that has been a nightmare since the day I got it. I'm looking for a replacement, but wondering if another Fiskars is the way I want to go. Would love some feedback now that you've had time to get to know this one!

    Hi Jennifer! I love my trimmer more now than when I first got it. It cuts like an absolute dream. Whether its chipboard, or cardstock or specialty paper it cuts it all like butter. Good luck finding a replacement trimmer. i have nothing but great things to say about this trimmer. Thx for watching ~Monica

    I still love it. It's practically the only trimmer I use. Blade is still sharp as ever. I cut alot of chipboard and magnetic vent covers on it and still cuts cardstock like butter. The only pain is the 6" mark is not clearly identified but in all reality since I bought it I've only ever needed to cut something 6" wide once lol... I think its worth every penny.. tsmfw!

    If I cut a 8 inch paper, and measure suppose it cuts ABCD rectangle with AC being left side, will distance between A and C will be same as C and D even if I cut large size paper? I always find there is 1/24 or more difference in size and thus not accurate? Can you check this? It can help me with buying decision. Thanks.

  • @scrappin4myboys

    I have never had an issue with measurement being off. But then again it is not something Im too overly concerned with. The blade is fixed and runs along a metal track unlike many other trimmers who follow a wire for a guideline and can be removed from the track. You will just need to make the decision for yourself in regards to making a purchase decision. The review is not anything associated with the company it was just my thoughts on the product itself from a crafters stand point. Most that I know that have this trimmer love it. With that being said every person is different so just because it works well for me does not mean it will work well for you. Its all personal opinion.

    @@scrappin4myboys I saw some 15+ videos and review is best except one person who raised measurement issue and so doubt was created. I do have chip style blade cutter and replacement blades gets costly and so this one seems good for more than double cost. of what i have and seems worth the investment. I need it for a project which my cutting needs will reoccur once in 3-4 months but for lifetime and in that precise cutting is important as over the years, the same project will grow into a collection and so if there is size difference, it would be noticed. As you mentioned the metal track (and also self sharpening blade) is what makes me feel that I can overcome measurement issue (if any) by working around some method. (Hopefully). Thanks for your reply.

    @@scrappin4myboys Have you used chip style blade trimmer? What is difference in cutting quality? Is there underedge on paper? I find the best cutting by scale and blade used by hand but then it is time consuming and mistakes can be made and hence a need to purchase a trimmer.

  • @scrappin4myboys

    @scrappin4myboys

    The right side ends at 5.5 and the left starts at 6. the clear edge on both is exactly 1/4" for its easy to find ur measurements. The only thing u would have an issue with is measuring down to 1/8" or 1/16" of an inch, but the rest are fine. I have never had an issue with measuring.
