You join me for a trip out on a weedy river in search of a few fish on the link leger. Finding the chub displaying their complete gamut of feeding, from the most bold to quite apprehensive.

    Cheers Ben, many of which most would overlook if I mentioned some of my locations (which I can't due to putting the groundwork in) but it is worth at times looking more than fishing or in that ratio as it can be a brilliant investment for when you do fish.

    @@francolinobasco not been on for 3 weeks, low, clear, heavily fished, never seen so many people on stretches, barbel wise super hard, odd fish coming out, some bream to be had, the fishing pressure on everywhere is silly, may go nxt week if the rains come over the nxt few days, if not, waiting till my kids finally go back to school after there near 6 month holiday, will see, tight lines mark, your stuff keeps me going through the hard times, cheers Craig

    Great handle the Korum. And so cheap. Korum really do make some innovative stuff. Their new bag with the chair attachment is a revelation. Long gone are the days of sitting on the floor. I’m a big boy like you mark, I highly recommend the transition bag and chair

    Argh Sully wasps.... They will sting you on a good day let alone when they are in a mood, I was lucky not to have hit the underground burrow, else I would have ruined the swim.

    what a cracking chub river that is mark,, with the big ones but other year class chub.. good for the next few years so long as the water weasels don,t get them ,lovely looking spot i must say,,,and the perch as a bonus the perch had seven stripes a lovely colour ,you have some smashing fishing down there mark.... well i was on the river leam in leamington last sunday 19 perch 4 bream to 2,5 pounds small dace and roach and best of all an eel of 3,2 pounds only my second ever the other was 29 years ago and was just under 5 pounds a lake record at the time might still be .but rare these days and some anglers never catch one so pleased as punch ,well mark looking forward to another adventure on the bank and tight lines,,ps mark try and get some flouro pinkies for stick and pin there brilliant,

    Not to bad Mark ,I’ve managed to get a number of 5+ chub over the last couple of seasons topped by a 6.11 Pb . The icing on the cake has been the four whiskers I have been lucky enough to land 8.2-10.4 my first Thames ones for nearly 20yrs . Keep up the good work as they say regards Ian

    Mark Erdwin That’s what I love about Chub especially those bigger chaps they are so wary seen it All before...making it that bit more pleasing when you manage to land them...I’m going tomorrow barbel..chub...and perch my targets..selection of baits swapping and changing as I go Plenty of walking and stalking...I always really enjoy your videos Mark and I am so very grateful for you sharing them with us.

    Great vid again Mark! I purchased some luminous tape (the stuff you charge with a torch) only a few quid from amazon/eBay, wrapped a few pieces around my landing net handle, dead easy to see in the dark!

    A bought the Korum handle about a month ago, I love it, a nice sturdy handle and packs down nice and small to go in my roving rucksack.

    Hello Mark, when you are bank side how do you find the swims that hold the big chub because personally I find a swim that looks chubby and I only ever catch one or two tiddlers, Tight Lines!! 🎣🎣

    Charlie I would say generally I do a bit of feature finding for swims that may hold the bigger chub and if a swim has smaller chub try and feed them a bit to feed them off and sometimes this helps get the larger chub to make an appearance or be less wary, which is what I was doing in that very last swim, you will see me looking and feeding bread in, what the camera does not show is there was a group of smaller fish there which I was trying to feed off. Doing this helps but of course many is the time I have had a suicidal young chub dive in and spook a larger fish which I was after, to that end it is a bit of a lottery too.

    Alan you did not mention what venue you were fishing, for a very very high bank then yes if you are on the Severn, but for travelling light and medium banks the korum oppurtunist is hard to beat.

    Yes totally, i have used it with a 32 inch wychwood folding specialist net with a large drop and it handled well.

    I think Mark had trouble with his Gardner pole on one of his older barbel videos, I think the thread fell off and nearly lost a double figure barbel because of it. It's on one of his videos. I'm sure he'll put you straight on that though.

    Hey no worry Alan! as peachy rightly states the gardner thread did fall out on me which i was not happy about despite repairing with glue, the drennan twist lock is supposed to be very good but not one that I have ever used.
