He is not talking about truck driving. He’s singing about being a rock star on his tour bus driving from show to show. It’s the emotional & social ups & downs of a rock musician’s life on the road.🎶

@@dc761 Oh, of course you’re right. I used to drive a bobtail for Ryder, this song fit perfectly to what I was doing. That part about how he walked into a restaurant with his long hair? That was me, I was young with long hair & the other truckers gave me the stank eye over it & made their cutesy remarks, especially for driving a bobtail. LOL

That Sax is perfect for that song. It is like the icing on the cake.

I appreciate Britt a lot. This is someone who is not from our generation who is digging into songs for the very first time. Let's give her some room! She controls the pause and comment in the songs, and at times has super insightful takes on what a song is all about.

Same here when I come across her in the suggested, and it's of interest to me. I lover her in the moment as she's listening reactions. I'm mid sixties and appreciate that she's finding the music we listened to when it was new or were already classics when we first heard them.
this song is so self explanatory you just have to listen
He was one of the best story telling by song artist ever
He started singing in the 60's. Long hair was frowned on. He's got the best hair in rock & roll. Your listening to a rock anthem right now

Leader of the Band - Fogelberg
Yes. It was people giving him a hard time because of his long hair - remember this was the early 1970s. Amazing song. Glad you appreciate it. One of the greatest songs of my generation.
Seger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. From the 1960s to the 1990s, he had 31 songs on the 100 Top Hits chart. He captured the youthful pursuit of meaning on the road. Enjoy
The fact that this was a LIVE performance, and yet sounds more like it was a studio recording, just goes to prove how talented and amazing Bob Seger was as a singer, and a performer. Not to mention how good the Silver Bullet Band were when they were doing a show.

This is from the live bullet album.
The song is about him and the band on their Tour Bus Strung out from the road means he has been on the road for months.
Boom! This song cuts right into your heart.
Bob Seger has his own throne in the Pantheon of Rock Gods, no question. He's an absolute genius and a brilliant storyteller. His best attribute, though, is his humility. His has never been too arrogant, too aloof, too into himself. He came from a struggling family and he never lost that perspective. To this day, he still helps people in his hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
One of the greatest songs ever written by one of the greatest performers of all time.

Bob Seger....many great songs..."roll me away". Night moves, Like a rock etc etc. Fabulous.
If you heard a chevy commercial in the90's, you now Bob Seger. LIKE A ROCK
Love me some Bob Seger. I seen him 3 times in concert, always great. Btw... Rock'n'Roll all the way. :)
Another Seger song, Hollywood Nights has what I think is one of the greatest lines of any song, "She looked at him with eyes so innocent and blue, he knew right then he was too far from home."
“Is that a woman or a man? You always seem outnumbered and you don’t dare make a stand…” Seger had very long hair back in the 70s… This song was one of his Masterpieces…
This man is an institution. His music has lasted decades and his live shows were always incredible. It always seemed like every show you saw was the first one and I saw several!!

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band…one of the deepest rabbit holes! Great music that I came of age to. 💗
This song was and still is an amazing take on what is like being a touring musician. When it came out it told a story that everyone could relate to thinking about that lifestyle. An epic tale and incredible song. Never get tired of that song and its deep meaning, thank you Bob Seger.
Absolutely on of my favorite songs ever. A masterpiece about touring, isolation, and the pressure of being on the road as a performer.
Bob Seger put on a great concert. Saw him twice in the early 80s.
Hi Britt, Being back in the "70's" and guys with long hair... would sometimes fool you into thinking is that a girl or a guy. Pretty common phrase at the time. Bob Seger a Detroit rocker had so many hits. He is still rocking the house to this day. Thanks for the reaction video
He is talking about being on the road as a musician. Bob Seger spent decades on the road performing. This is speaking from his soul. I was fortunate enough to see him many times including Detroit shows which were dang hard to get tickets for. In 2019 he did his last tour and I saw him in Shreveport Louisiana. Whole stadium goes pitch black and that sax riff at the beginning rings out over the crowd in the dark. CHILLS

Bob Sever is a great singer songwriter and story teller. Many great songs. You may have heard his song Old time rock and roll.
My Favorite Song of all time. I know every word and can sing this song without music.
Bob had long hair for 20 + years... .. and he wore that like a pro.
The song writing is great. Seger’s timbre and range are great
Brit, you are of a different generation. Bob Seger is an institution an this is his greatest ballad. I had a brother who died in 2007 who said this was his best song ever. I can see why. Look him up on the internet and check his songs. You are in for a treat.
Bob’s song You’ll Accompany Me, oh man! Some quality head phones and that organ sound just swirls around your head. Yeah baby. And then Rambling Gambling Man for just rockin out. Good thing I’m retired because now I’m gonna be up all night with my favorite artists.
Bob Seger NIGHT MOVES
This was my younger brothers favorite song we had it playing in the funeral home for him . 62 years old is to young to die but he lived his life rest in peace Digger we will be together soon 🙏
"Long haired hippies need not apply"....Sign, sign, everywhere a sign....Yes. Men with long hair were DEFINATELY judged/questioned....
Been listening to Bob seiger since I was a little kid he's freaking awesome
He's a great performer really awesome I've listened to him for years
"Strung out from the road" refers the feeling you get when you ride for long time. The tiredness you feel day after day. Recorded live in the mid 70's.

Yeah man, that's it. Then add to that he's crossing Nebraska, when it is cold. And you can see way out to the horizon and the horizon is forever away, no matter where you look, nothing to see but road, dirt cross roads with a mailbox, harvested fields, and no houses - they are way on down those dirt roads past that distant horizon. And the sun is dim and cold and it all weighs down on you. And you ain't even the one driving, you're just one of the passengers and no one wants to talk because the words seem so small out there between the horizon and the horizon and the cold sun. How long you been driving? How far have you come? How long is left? Yeah, strung out from the road... who needs drugs to feel that? Might need some therapy after remembering it though....

Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band is the best live act I've ever seen. 'Turn The Page' tells the story of how they got there.
Thank you for featuring this song which younger viewers will be unfamiliar with. It was beautifully composed and really holds up well even decades later.

Bob seater and the silver bullet band have been around since the 70’s. Very popular band. Great music!
He is the best singer of that era not just a singer but a writer performer and his song tell a story. Wonderful artist
Bob is definitely in the Master Class of rock artists.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Best concert I've been to in Portland OR. He did 5 encores and that was so generous of him and his band, when night was over to leave the stage and come back on audience chant of encore 5 freakn times. All the brass in the hands of those fine artists. Hands down the best live
Probably that greatest rock star of all time
Bob Segar is a great storyteller. Listen to more of his music!!!!
Night Moves, Main Street, Against The Wind are great songs (ballads). When he wrote the he had VERY long hair. I grew up listening to him from in the 60s. When I need to mellow out I turn to his songs.
Bob Seger is awesome Against The Wind Get Out Of Denver Roll Me Away Night Moves Mainstreet The Famous Final Scene Shame On The Moon
This was my late dad’s favorite song every time I hear it I get chills and miss him so much
Britt! Girl!! You’ve never heard of Bob Seeger before?? Damn! Turn in your headphones right now! & go to your room without dinner!
Back in the 60s, men wearing long-hair was heavily looked down upon. It wasn't until the late 70s, early 80s that it started being widely accepted.
“Strung out from the road” is referencing just how drained and “strung out” you can feel after being on the road so long.
Lol, he and his band are going from city to city on tour, and groupies were in abundance. This is a great song.
Bob Is In His True Bus...
The story is self evident. It will unfold as the song goes along. No need to interpret the lyrics so early in the song. Thank you for playing the wonderful Bob Seger. He is an awesome storyteller in his songs.
Another great Bob Seger song i bet you would enjoy is called Her Strut. Very soulful and sassy with great instrumentals as well...
II hate to say you came into this song with ignorance, but your growth through the evolution of the music makes you one of the amazing people to react to music videos. Stunning. Please don't take ignorance as an insult, it's just a state of not knowing, easily cured with an open mind.
Riding to each gig, town to town don't over think it!
Bob Seger wow
It was a great time to be alive. Seger is one of the best songwriters' there are. Yes, being a band member is exhausting though they work their magic when its 'showtime' (my husband is in a band 35+ yrs. now). Enjoying your reactions young lady, God bless!😊
One of my favorite songs since I was a kid. I'm 33 now.
a GOAT!!!!!! best song ever about life on the road!!!! I have loved this song since it came out!! I am 74 & his voice still gives me chills - he has one of the sexiest / sensual voice out there next to Kenny Rogers!!!
This came out in 1975 it was a live recording at COBO hall in Detroit and I was a teen in Detroit and I loved Bob Seger and the silver bullet band.
My husband and I danced our first dance at our wedding to his song "Understanding". (Outside, barefoot in the forest preserve, music on mix tapes, playing on a boom box. Good times. Married 33 years now 💜)
This was a concert recording. One take. All talent.

I grew up with Bob Seger music, went to his concerts in Buffalo,NY. 1960s thru now and he is still awesome.
Classic Song. BOB SEGER
I wasn't a musician, but but I worked in an industry that traveled the country, and I thought of this as an anthem of my life.
Bob started out in the '60s with "Ramblin Gamblin Man." You should listen to it to hear what he sounded like before he became jaded by years and years of performing.
to have herd that sax live was one of the high points of my life. He was on top of the speaker stack in a single pot light.
Hi Britt. I am Brian from Alberta , Canada. I am originally from Windsor , Ontario right across Detroit City. I was fortunate to get to see Bob Segar play in Detroit. You had asked about any other bands that write a song about there life as a traveling band. You reminded me of the song called Beth from the band "Kiss" , one member wrote this and it is related to the band practicing.
