He's also a prolific songwriter. He actually did do a boy band song, he wrote This I Promise You. N'Sync. He sang it with one of them. He wrote for Luther Vandross, they were close friends. He did one of Luther's biggest hits, Dance With My Father. Another great, upbeat song by him is Keep Coming Back. Flipping amazing. I've loved this man since his debut album. Not dating myself at all......

I loved Richard Marx! I had his albums Richard Marx and Right Here Waiting totally memorized! Right Here Waiting was bittersweet. I married my husband, and we were both active duty army. He was in San Antonio at Ft Sam, and I was in Kansas at Ft Riley. Then he went to the Sinai for a year. Then I went to Bolivia for 6 mos. He was in PA. A week after I returned to the states, I was deployed to the Middle East for Desert Shield/Storm, for another 6 mos. I don’t think any marriage could have withstood those stressors. I think we were together 6 wks in almost 3 yrs. We divorced a few months after I returned from the Middle East.

I think he got famous and was marketed right before Grunge rock took over, and then everyone forgot or treated him like a joke, but he was a really good songwriter with a great voice. He's definitely considered milquetoast by a lot of people, but I like his sincere delivery and skill.

Oh my! I loved Richard Marx so much in the 80's. When my high school love broke up with me this song cut me like a knife. We were togwther from the very beginning of freahman year until the beginning of our senior year. That man broke my heart so bad back then.i waited for him for 5 months to come back to me, but he had been cheating on me with my very best friend. They both crushed me! I lost my man AND my best friend all at once. This song is so beautiful. EDIT: This song was in the movie "Notting Hill" with Julia Roberts & Hugh Grant. It was never the theme of a tv show

Do any of you remember the fairly recent McDonald’s commercial where the two young women are sitting and talking in a car in a McDonald’s parking lot. As they’re talking, this AWESOME Richard Marx song is playing on the radio, and one of the girls says, “WHAT are we listening to (OMG)??!!” It’s kind of like, “Like, UGH…..like seriously UGH, what is this?!” Well, that commercial did not sit well with a ton of people in the viewing audience because obviously this is a GREAT song, and it was a very stupid idea to try to make fun of this incredibly popular 80s hit. However, a lot of people were surprised that Richard Marx would be okay with having his classic love song be trampled upon by these two seemingly clueless young women (obviously they were just saying their line).

He was an "Adult Contemporary" artist... kind of like Michael Bolton... but you need to react to the studio version... It's much better...IMO

Why does she go out of her way to not do the studio versions of the songs she reacts too? Almost always these live versions are inferior and the singers are past their prime. To not hear the song with the piano is just a crime and she's not hearing the correct version that made it such a great song. Take away the piano and you are losing so much that made this song so good and you are left with this mediocre live version. Just maddening. 😕

Doesn‘t matter with a trash artist like Richard Marx.

Marx's song "HAZARD" is something you have to listen to. Just sayin.

These live versions of songs that you've been listening to a lot lately Britt by and large aren't better than the original versions...

I like the original better. It’s slower and he plays piano instead of the guitar. That may be the one you’ve heard before.

Please listen to the original songs and not these live performances cause they're not even the same thing or as good.

You picked the wrong version. Should have picked the original with the piano. You always choose the live version of all the people and groups, you're not getting the best version. Bad mistake in my opinion. And this song sounds completely different with piano
