I'm so excited you're watching more Heart! If you continue down the rabbit hole, there's a live version of "crazy on you" where Nancy has a killer guitar intro, and "alone" is one of my favorites. These two blend so well because they are sisters. One of the best rock bands of the 70’s.

Ann Wilson is one of the best. That's why she was selected to sing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin...she's one of the few who can sing like Robert Plant used to sing. Her sister (Nancy) is pretty damn good on the guitar too.

That was a great concert. But Dolly parton won a reward for her cover of stairway to heaven . I think you should check it out ? It's truly unique, I think you would enjoy the difference in the presentation of the song.

Funny, this song was inspired by an inappropriate comment a record promoter made about the two sisters. Whatta way to get revenge. Lol. Great reaction Britt…..MORE HEART please, “Alone” and “All I wanna do” ETC. Very talented sisters!

She was very angry when she wrote this.

Saw them live in 78 blown away so many wonderful songs then and they added more in the 80's, can honestly say my favorite concert I ever attended.

It was called the peasant girl look. 😀

If you want crazy harmonies from these ladies check out their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “The Battle of Evermore”. Most people don’t realize that Nancy is every bit the talented singer that Anne is.

Not only is it a fantastic song featuring brilliant vocals from both sisters it's also one of the few tracks I have ever seen in which Anne plays guitar!!! Make it happen Britt!!!!!

Ummm, no she isn't. Anne is possibly the greatest female rock singer of all time. Nancy is a decent harmonizer but she can't hold a candle to her sister vocally. Otherwise she'd sing more leads.

This performance is usually overdubbed with the studio version. But this is the actual live sound. I don’t know how this reactor pulled this up. I've never heard this version. This is rare.

Excellent classic song and vocals (Ann Wilson)! Nancy Wilson is her sister, plays a mean guitar and can sing too. In a previous video honoring Led Zeppelin where Ann and Nancy (and Led Zeppelin's drummer, John Bonham's son) played, you asked for Heart hits: Crazy on You, Magic Man, and These Dreams (slower song)

The Wilson sisters. This song was a major hit back then. Heart is beloved around the world. This is one of my favorites and I thank you.

I totally agree! Heart has many hits and lots of great music spanning decades. But "Alone" has to be in my top 3, if not my favorite, of their songs - especially for the vocals.

You’ve quickly become one of my favorite reactors, keep doing and being you. This song was actually one of the first diss tracks. Ann wrote it about a record exec I believe that made a crass remark about her and her sister.

Ann and Nancy Wilson are Rock Icons and they still sound great!!!

Ann Wilson was a vocal powerhouse. I used to crank up the dial on the stereo when playing this album. The best female fronted rock band ever.

One thing to note, is that this was the actual live audio, and the vocals were spot on! There's a similar video, but with the studio audio dubbed over it. Too bad the guitars didn't sound as good on this, but the vocals were great. 🤘😎

It sure sounded like the tape (VCR?) got stretched a bit. Guitars were warbling like the sound from an old reel-to-reel movie. I'd be willing to bet that they were all in tune when this performance was originally recorded.

This version sucks! Poor Britt didn't hear the quality & soul of the studio overdub. This was lack-luster & detracted from what the group is capable of.

The harmonies are so great because they are sisters, Ann and Nany Wilson, they probably were singing together way before they formed a band. :)

The flute player you're thinking of is Ian Anderson of the group Jethro Tull. I saw Heart in concert at about the time of this video. So many artists' live performances are disappointing, but Heart killed it live. Not super flashy, just great talent. My favorite band of all time. They had quite a few hits, but my favorite is one called Alone.

It's perfect.

It’s really a gypsy style more than anything, their album Little Queen ( which was the first album I ever bought, age 10) they’re dressed as gypsies and this look was not too long after. Definitely check out more of Heart, Ann Wilson has such a strong versatile voice

I saw Heart in the 80s during their big hair phase, and they killed it! For me, nothing better than 1970's Heart though.

i was born in '71 and have older siblings. this was the first song I ever remember listening to and enjoying. Dad liked country, Mom liked Neil Diamond, but my sisters liked rock, now much later, I still love this song and the "babes from Bellevue" (also my home state) are still rock legends!

This is really different. I've seen this video quite a few times. It's always been accompanied by the studio recording. This might be the actual live version. 1st time hearing it.

Your’e right!! I was like “Oh no….this videos audio is outa sync in this one”. But nope! I was relieved that somebody has finally uploaded the correct live audio. There was no need to ever dub the studio recoding over it - her vocals are amazing and Nancy killed it!! I guess the other guitar player’s sound is a bit wacky and distorted but maybe that was deliberate? Idk.

Ya know Britt, it's more amazing, sitting front row, center balcony in a small 1,500 seat arena watching them. Just so happens that I did just that in August 1977. 😊

This song was written about their promoter, after he told them that he wanted to spread a rumor about the two sisters having a sexual relationship with each other. They were fuming when he said that and Anne wrote the song later in her hotel room.

I am so glad your reacted to this version of the video. This has the live tracks. There is another version of this video out there with studio recorded tracks. This version is so raw. One of my favorite Heart songs, takes me back to when I was a teenager in the mid-to late seventies and cranking up this song every time it came on the radio.

I swear, she sounds better now than she did then. It's crazy!

I saw Heart when Howard Leese was still their lead guitarist. The first time he stepped to the edge of the stage and let loose with a guitar solo the entire stadium shook and people jumped out of their seats and cheered. It was epic!!

Ann's voice is weapons-grade. In terms of this classic-rock era, I put her on the same level with Freddie Mercury. It's not hard to make the case that she's the greatest female rock vocalist, ever. The clarity, and seemingly effortless power... The woman's voice is super-human. As for the harmony, she is of course singing along with her Sister. The two had been singing together all their lives, and the way they complement each other is just a joy to listen to.

Check out the live version of them doing crazy on you but make sure to get where Nancy does that really cool guitar opening. They were back-to-back on the album infected guitar solo is shorter on the album but it is meant to lead directly into Crazy On You. And you sometimes heard it that way on the radio as well.

Keep your love alive

Gretchen Wilson does a nice cover of Barracuda with the newly reformed Alice n Chains for a VH1 honors in 2007 for context. Ann has set the bar for female rock vocalists and Gretchen comes close even though she's most known as a country artist.

This is the first time I've heard the actual concert audio with this video. Every other time it has been the studio recording dubbed onto this video. Very interesting to see it synced up properly.

Good morning, I love heart . I seen them in concert in 1985 . Back then they threw the most elaborate stage productions. Classic heart song is ( dog & butterfly.).

Heart has a lot of popular hits, but one of my favorite's is the sleeper hit : "Tell It Like It Is". Very worthy of a listen, even if you don't react to it, I think you would really enjoy the lyrics and vocals.

Medieval was the theme of the day....Heart are undisputedly leaders in rock legend. They are contemporaries of Led Zeppelin ergo the choice to have them do the main tribute. Makes sense, doesn't it!

A magnificent soprano voice belting out rock 'n' roll, in perfect harmony with her incredible guitarist sister - Heart. Thanks for your reaction.

Nancy Wilson said in an interview, that they got the idea for Barracuda's intro riff, from the 60's TV show Western: "Bonanza".

Quote from an Ann Wilson interview: “The soul has to be open just a certain way to sing,” she says. “In fact I learned how to sing through Aretha Franklin, just that from-the-church type full voice, it’s more like melting, it’s singing, but it’s more than just singing in a pretty way. It’s like a total physical immersion way of singing.” It took her a while to believe that she could sing rock ‘n’ roll. “I was maybe 23 or 24, and I was in Heart, but I was just like the chick singer in the band. But then I realized that by singing Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, covering those bands, it taught me how to sing rock ‘n’ roll - loud and high.”

I love it when she reacts to the old school music videos. I feel like Britt would have loved Hang Bangers Ball when it used to be on MTV!!!

Ann and Nancy Wilson are the female members of Heart. They are the Core of the band. Ann sings most lead vocals, but Nancy also has a great voice, maybe not as powerful as Ann. Nancy is also a accompliced musician and song writer.

To me, she has the finest female rock voice. Yes the style.... What can I say other than I miss my suede and my fringe.
