Wanna hear a fantastic song by Stevie? Look up her first solo album "Belladonna" , close your eyes, run your finger down the song list and stop on any random song. The album is THAT good.

Stevie called him, and Prince showed up in the studio within an hour. He listened to the track, sauntered over to keyboards, played the duh-duh-duh-duh low bass sixteenth notes and then the high dunh-duh dunh-duh dunh-duh notes that you hear mostly in the background. Then he left. That's the story Stevie tells. (He is uncredited.)

She stated that her team reached out to Prince about a working on a song. Stevie said he showed up at her studio, set up his synth, played his part, packed up his stuff and left. Just like that. She said he walked in, played it and "walked out of her life forever" .... and Stand Back was born.

Inspired by Prince’s “Little Red Corvette”, Price actually played synths on this one. He showed up at the studio, listened to the song briefly and added that oscillating synth part and then he left without speaking to anyone.

I loved Stevie's voice in the 80s, it matured a bit but I feel like she was in her prime. Started going down hill a bit around the "Street Angel" album. It happens. Her vibrato gets stronger the harder she sings, that's when I love her the most.

Seeing this live is great. So is Edge of Seventeen and Gold Dust Woman. In concert, this song often gets a nice tasty guitar solo from Waddy Wachtel, guitar sideman and studio “first call” guy extraordinaire. He’s been part of Stevie’s touring band for decades.

Man, she was trapped with narrowed musical styles on Fleetwood Mac, her solo stuff is all her and is totally different. Much more wide spectrum of music, she is a rock and roller, honorary heartbreaker, loves pop music like the Beatles, etc. You have just scraped the surface, please get into her solo work more, it will better your life!! In your dreams album is my favorite, 24 carat gold is also very good, she gets better with time

Used to be so hard to get, only released on the "Against All Odds" movie sound track from 1983. Her best solo song to me. Also "Insider" her best duet with Tom Petty. Love the Mac. Loved them and Stevie when I was young. Oh, and you are fun, great reactions. Love from California.

Lindsey's guitar, John's bass and Mick's drum...wow and Stevie was on fire that night

She spent half the 70s singing stadium concerts in support of Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, and Tusk. Her rasp is earned. She suffered from polyps on her vocal cords in the late 70s from overreaching vocally. Prince wrote the synthesizer riff throughout.

Stevie has always had that edgier tone, but I can imagine her voice here is a combination of maturing and excessive cocaine use. Her tone drastically changes from 1979-1985. Her vocals were definitely sharper and more nasal by her 1985 album and the drug use caused a dime-sized hole inside her nose.

1983 was Stevie's cocaine days.. maybe her voice was raspier then because of it and she was very thin & hyped up then. Her dr. told her if she kept up with the coke, she would soon have a hole in her nose, so she has said she gave up coke due to vanity. She did not want a hole in her nose. The keyboard arrangement was Prince's contribution.
