Most of Linkin Park's music has a depressing undertone to it. The lead singer suffered from severe depression and ultimately lost that battle. Chester Bennington's is a sad story. He was an amazing musician and he is missed.
This song sung by the crowd at his remembrance concert was the saddest most amazing thing ever

Their performance of One More Light, the live version, brings goose bumps every time. It was performed days after the lead singer lost one of his best friends in Chris Cornell. The performance is heart breaking

this band has gotten a lot of us through some really tough times. their lyrical content is definitely sad but thats whats needed sometimes.
Live Linkin Park is always the best version of their music. Chester had a voice that could move anyone in person. RIP Chester.
Chester…. The single most influential singer to me ever. Man has a special place in my heart. Everything linkin park and grey daze and dead by sunrise. First album I ever bought was meteora and when I don’t know what to listen to I default to linkin park. Anything Chester you react to I will watch.
Chester Bennington struggled most of his adult life with depression and addiction. He considered Chris Cornell to be one of his biggest influences and when Chris committed suicide, Chester lost all hope and wound up killing himself on Chris Cornell's birthday. Chester's widow maintains his twitter and people post their testimonials how Linkin Park's music helped to turn their lives around by letting them know that there were others out there who felt just like them, she turned the tragedy of his death into something good by getting people to talk to each other about their depression.
Chester bennington was known for singing like an angel, but screaming like a demon. If you hear him screaming, he does it SO. WELL. There's so much control and it just sounds like he can do it so naturally. Its amazing.
I got to see Linkin Park live just before Chester passed away. One of my most memorable concerts so far.
Still can't hold my tears back hearing Chester after all these years.... RIP....
"The other guy," is Mike Shinoda the co-vocalist and the band's principle songwriter/producer. The end bit was the J. Robert Oppenheimer quote they sampled on A Thousand Suns. This was the A Thousand Suns tour. It was an interlude to the next song, which I believe was The Catalyst.
Chester suffered with manic depression which ended up consuming him and he took his life. If you listen to most LP songs you'll hear him basically calling for help. Personally I still struggle to listen to LP, I wish Chester just listened to his own words 💔
"Paper cut"would be great. "In the end" is one that deserves to he heard if you've never heard it before

Linkin Park are one of those bands that when live they are just as good if not better than their studio albums. Too many of their tracks to recommend, so will say check out their collaborations with X-cutioners or Jay Z.
The end part was the transition to their song "The Catalyst", and you were right about Oppenheimer and his famous speech right there.
