The only other minor difference is sometimes fiddles have a slightly flatter bridge (part near the bottom that holds the strings up) to aid in the chords that fiddle-style players do.

San Antonio here! Mr. George is one of the nicest guys you'd want to meet. I've bumped into him many times. Down here we just call him "King George" (and watch him blush still to this day). Alan Jackson is incredible. This was the first song I ever 2stepped to. So, to be clear, the difference between a violin and a fiddle is a violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs!. You wanna see awesome fiddle playin' watch Mr. Charlie with The Charlie Daniels Band perform their song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Yes, there is a song called "If You're Gonna Play in Texas, You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band" sung by Alabama.

Thé other is It’s Midnight in Montgomery, a tribute to the late Hank Williams, Sr. Once you have heard those two songs, you will be an Alan Jackson fan for life. However, please get the video versions, not the studio version or a live performance. You want the videos in these; they help tell the stories.

You might remember Alan singing “I’m crazy about a Ford truck”. It was Ford’s jingle for last of the 80’s and most of the 90’s. The song was in reference to a Mercury originally. They were still putting the Mercury badge on fords in Canada. Toby Keith picked up the Ford jingle for a bit in the early 2000’s. My uncle was at a roping once with King George. Nothing like 300 cowboys paying $75 to join the round robin. Winner takes 1/2 of the money home.

One of my favorites of King George. He's the real deal. A working cowboy and also rides cutting horses. He singing about a Rodeo man. Spend their lives going from rodeo to rodeo. This is one of my (and my daughter's) favorite songs. We used to commute together and our biggest pet peeve, was when the dj would cut off the fiddle part at the end. George Strait has at least 60 number on songs. If it's country music - it's a fiddle. Yes, Daddy Long Legs is quite tall and a legend in his own right. Where were you when the world stopped turning was written and performed right after 9/11. I couldn't tell you my favorite George Strait song, but am kind of partial to "Troubador".

Jimmy and Alan are famous for "Five O'Clock Somewhere".

When someone says cowboy George Strait was and still is the first person I think of, got to see him live once in my early 20's I'm 46 now and he still brings it when he performs, I watched him just off stage between sets with a rocking chair and a huge cooler, my friends and I had the perfect angle where we could count how many beers he drank between sets, he killed 13 budweisers and we figured he was gonna fall down on his next set, nope he never missed a beat or a cord we watched him killing beer each time someone else would sing and he did this for hours still sounded amazing, Allan Jackson on the other hand worked construction with my father in Carrollton Georgia before he made the big time and my dad said he would play the guitar and sing for the workers on break and some would laugh at him and tell him to keep his day job, he's country music royalty now and nobody's laughing now 😃

Rodeo dude. Rodeo cowboys live for 8 seconds. They give it all. It’s the biggish rush ever. 8 seconds on the back of a bucking bull is unreal. Been there

Yep, it's about the life of a traveling rodeo cowboy. There was little money in it, but the writer describes the freedom of living the life that he wants to live. He lost his wife and girlfriend 'cause they weren't going to stick with him living the lifestyle that he wants to live. He chose his traveling lifestyle over domestic bliss!

Anything by George Strait or Alan Jackson is gonna be good. I recommend George’s “carrying your love with me” “I can still make Cheyenne” “baby blue” and Alan’s “small town southern man” “chasin that neon rainbow”

George actually worked the rodeo circuit and clips in the official video are clops of him riding, roping etc. I think his son is also working the rodeo circuit too.

When it comes to country music, George is known as the King (not to take away from Elvis)...he arrived in the early 80s and built a strong following, with dozens of classic hits. His songs create everlasting memories. His mellow and consistent tone is adored by many millions...and he still tours to this day. The only thing that bothered me is that he doesn't move on stage...he is a statue. The women fell over themselves to hear him sing.

This song was originally written and performed by Chris Ledoux. He was a professional bull rider and country artist who wrote a lot of his songs about being on the road. Check out his song " The Hat".

The difference between a Violin and a Fiddle is the way you fiddle with them. Okay, that’s the joke. Years ago, Itzhak Perlman was part of a show and after playing a classical violin piece he said that he was going to do a magic trick and turn his violin into a fiddle. He passed it behind his back and and brought it out to play a lively country music piece. They are the same instrument, just different techniques. Especially when you refer to it as a fiddle.

George sung this song in the early 80s. I was in Mesquite then, and I knew some bull riders. They were not big, and they were bow legged, but they were tough as nails.

The difference between a violin and a fiddle is genre. If it's country or bluegrass it's a fiddle. And the song is filled with rodeo references. He's following the circuit.

George Strait He's a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. George Strait doesn't just sing about being a cowboy, he lives the life. ... Strait and his brother Buddy started the George Strait Team Roping Classic competition. George recorded this song. George and Allen one of the few singers who sing the old country songs not the new style. As George Jones sang whose gonna sing these songs when they're gone. Hope Allen is doing ok after announcing his muscular disease. Gonna have to give up tour. A violin has strings and fiddle has strangs.

He's from San Marcos, TX. Where he started out in San Marcos was across the street from where I worked. He's still happily married to wife Norma. He lost his daughter at 13 by car accident. He also has a son. One of my sorority sisters was best friends with his daughter. He danced Maddie around their kitchen one time. He's a great guy.

My Mom is 1 year older than George Strait and for as long as I've lived she has been basically Gaga over him. From Independence KS. Medium small city in SE of state. We had a yearly festival and George played the live show the same year this song put him on the national radar for the first time. Since that night shes been hooked lol. She met and married my Dad not long after. My dad is genius. He quickly realized she was a fan girl for a celebrity, and the chances of her ever leaving him for George were fairly slim. So every few years, no matter where George was touring. In town or across the country. He would take her on a suprise vacation to something fun (national parks, the bigger bullriding competitions, a cruise) and a George Strait concert to top it off. Happily married for 48 years. I asked Dad once if he liked George Strait. He said "Well, he's got a good voice, and he's an AMAZING get out of jail free card with your Mom so.........."
