Trust me, you can't judge BTS by just one song. 😅 These are lyrical kings. We're talking Jungian psychology, greek mythology, classical litterature, socio-economic issues, self-scrutiny, astronomy, marine biology and so much more. And then you combine all those subjects with every music genre from neosoul to battle style rap, philanthropy, funny af personalities and a fanbase aged 2-99... Now *that's* BTS! 😄👍 - a danish ARMY, age 46 💜

BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan Korean for Bulletproof Boy Scouts. They have 3 rappers (J-hope, Suga and RM) and 4 vocalists (Jin, V, Jimin and Jungkook) in the group so yes they do rap. In fact, BTS started out as a hip-hop group in 2013 and have now branched out into a LOT of genres- Pop, neo-soul, electronica, EDM, RnB, Latin Pop etc. They can sing beautiful gut-wrenching ballads and can go Hard with their Rap songs. They write, produce and compose their own music and also incorporate mental health issues or social commentary in their songs. These 7 are very well rounded individuals who have different preferences and styles of music which is reflected in their solo as well as group songs. One of the members- Jimin is in fact going to release his first solo album on 24 March so you can listen to some of his songs if you are interested. BTW, K-pop is less of a genre of music and it is more of an industry with various kinds of genres mixed into it🤗 They have a LOT of songs (300+ songs in their almost decade long career) so here are some of my recommendations to get you started- ON (Kinetic Manifesto Film)- A mix of gospel music, marching drums and hip-hop Black Swan- Emo hip-hop, trap Butter- Disco Pop Idol- Hip-hop/Rap, Afro beats?? Fire- Electronica, Rap, Dance-pop Save me- EDM, Electro-pop If you would like to get to know more about the members of BTS and their group dynamics I recommend this introduction video by Taylor- A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7- kzread.info/dash/bejne/mqmKwduClNvAgLw.html Hope this helped💜 I enjoyed your reaction and have a nice day!

They are seven very different artists in a group and that's why we have musical variety, they do hip hop, R&B, ballads, pop etc. They write, compose and produce, they have more than 300 songs, solo projects and subdivisions (rap line/vocal line) there are 3 rappers and 4 vocals, their lyrics and videos have a lot of meaning, their discography deals with the different chapters of life and human development and also love for their fans (Army).

I grew up in the 90s and loved BSB, Nsync, all those boy bands, and now that I've come to know more about BTS, I find there's really no comparison between what those guys did then and what BTS have done in their music careers. Yes, they dance and sing, but BTS's musical range is dimensional and vast...and their live performances are killer. One of the best examples imo if you want to hear more is their Festa 2021 kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIaczMaSo7Hdcc4.html they do a live medley of a variety of songs. It was a gift to ARMY from what I know during the pandemic since they couldn't do live concerts yet.

Thanks for giving BTS a try. BTS writes most of their music and songs that often touch upon topics like mental health, societal expectations, love yourself, etc. They don't sing about your typical love and such which is refreshing. Mic Drop is for the haters. Since they were from an indie label, the big 3 in Kpop industry tried to push them down after seeing their potential. Fandoms of other bigger Kpop groups consistently attacked them online and tried to sabotage their efforts. You'll see proof of these in a video highlighting BTS's come -up and hardship through the years. Yet they persevered and worked harder than anyone and only spread love and positive messages around the world. When you realize what they stand for, it's hard not to love these boys who have a heart of gold. Boy With Love (Feat. Halsey) is a completely different vibe where they all wore pink and it's happy and poppy. Black Swan is a work of art, from lyrics to choreo. It's about them being afraid of losing their passion in music and what if one day they can't produce great music anymore. ON (Manifesto Film) is a powerhouse that showcases their insane choreo and vocal. Happy viewing!!

Yea, BTS! :) Thanks for giving them a shot. Just FYI, be reaaaally careful about comparing them to Backstreet or NSYNC, as they are very different from what us westerners think of when it comes to guy groups. You're liable to piss of fans, really. Also -- steer away from comparing them to other kpop groups for the same reasons. BTS is on a tier of its own, beyond the kpop label. I'm not saying that to scare you off so much as save you a headache. This song is a clapback at all the people who bullied them when they were industry underdogs. The first two founding members of the group were underground rappers and received a lot of sh*t for expanding what they do to incorporate singers and overall performance. I really hope you check out more of them and their come up. *Edit to add: someone else recommended the fanmade documentary A Guide to BTS by Taylor. I highly recommend it, too. Not just to know their story, but in the background you will hear several clips from their 300+ song discography. If you hear a vibe you like you can then check out the full length song.

the coolest thing about BTS is that you cannot take any one song individually and say THIS is what they do normally...when you take 10-15 songs across their 10 years career, you still won´t be able to encompass every genre they sing in, but it would give you an idea, of course? you want hard hitting rap? cypher 1-4, typical bragadoucious lyrics(but very well done), worplay, rhyme schemes, speed, everything you would wish for from a word class rapper (some big US rappers could never) you want emotional hard hitting rap with deep personal lyrics? Outro Tear you want a hard hitting rap song lamenting the misuse of anger in today´s society, and online bullying culture ? UGH you want a soulful gorgeous ballad? Truth untold You want a bouncy EDM concert closer song? So What? you want an artsy trap R&B, with deeply philosophical lyrics about their identity as artists? Black swan you want a sincere love letter to their fans? Magic Shop. Mikrokosmos, We are bullerproof: Eternal, Louder than Bombs, and many others You want a high energy, anthemic song telling you to love yourself as you are? Idol you want an up tempo, high energy choreo, reminiscing about their hard way coming up? RUN BTS you want a fairly typical pop song, with Atypically deep lyrics? Boy with love you want a hip-hop inspired bouncy song, with socially concious lyrics, criticising the unequal wealth/power distribution amongst generations and other plights young koreans face today? Baepsae(Silvevr Spoon) a typical pop summer worldwide hit that smashed the music industry? Dynamite, Butter and these are just BTS group songs. Each and every member has released solo music on his own, the rappers have whole mixtapes/albums out, very different to the ´´typical BTS sound´´. (one of the vocalists, Jimin, is releasing an album on 24th, a week from today, with a pre release single called Set me free pt.2 out tomorrow on 17th) this is a rabbit hole you are entering. Welcome, pace yourself and have fun, express your own opinion, don´ t pander to the ARMY. As long as you stay respectfull it is completely all right not to LOVE everything they do, be sincere, it is really appreciated. Also N sync and Backstreet boys would have died of exhaustion within first 5 minutes of doing BTS concerts. NO comparison. At all. You will see. oh and the most important thing? they write majority of their lyrics and melodies, even produce some tracks themselves. They are involved in every step of the creative process, and they work fucking hard. Bye an ARMY from a tiny country in Europe

backstreet boys don't hold a candle to BTS. but they are bad ass. our rap line dope and our 4 vocal line is amazing. also, k pop is not a genre (pop) it is an industry. BTS is unique in the world of K POP. there's nothing these guys don't do musically. plus, they compose, write and produce many of their tracks. Suga (one of the rappers) has also won awards for producing for other artists. he initially was hired as a producer but then was asked to join BTS as a second member. these guys to date have won over 900 awards. the boy bands in the US for the most part cant even dance. and not all the members are usually talented. in BTS all 7 are super talented in many areas

OMG, just because they are the "it" group these days, fans do not need to disrespect the artists of the previous generation. Backstreet Boys are more of a household name simply because they were the "it" group in their time. I am not into comparing, but definitely abhor trying to diminish other acts or artists just because you are a fan of the new "it" group. Talent and recognition will speak for itself, there is no need to sell it, if you know what I mean, or else it will not feel great.

@@geekyreader34 Oh wow. I think the internet is free to read through what BSB has done or did before the internet, social media, streaming, youtube, spotify, and tiktok has amplified reach and avenue for artists. When you say "don't hold a candle", you are actually pertaining that they are comparable and commonly used as a diminishing remark. You could have just left it out of your comment if you really did not want to compare. You can always elevate your idols or favorites, in a more dignified manner. Raw talent is not the end all and be all. BSB had their primes and their spotlight, and to be honest, why they are a household name as shown in this reaction, it is because of their talent and success. It may not be the same talents as your favorite group does or has done, but the impact remains, that they are known for their songs and their talent. And to my humble opinion, they were "larger than life" (pun intended) in their primes. They were icons, idols, and had that global success to be proud of. They may not be the cup of tea to a lot of people, but they were the top boy group when it was the trend. And again, in my humble opinion, at least one or some of their songs will be timeless. Just my 2 cents really. BTS is still great though, and highly successful, if you are counting the awards, views, followers, billboard charts, album sales, fans, and number of compositions. I get that.

I'd say that their roots as a band are in Hip Hop, so they fall mainly under this umbrella term with all of its different labels as ramifications, so trap, rap, trip-hop, boom bap, lo-fi and so on. However, they've always been open about exploring their musical taste and experimenting with the inclusion of other genres; some classics like pop, rock, RnB, neo-soul, funk, but also sounds like edm, electronica, house, etc. Being very eclectic artists they have a catalogue of 300+ songs which gives them the due space to try out something different every time they release new music. Very rarely they have group songs where there are no hip-hop influences whatsoever. The group has 7 elements as you noticed: 3 are rappers and 4 are vocalists, although, some of them like to also explore their vocals and rap abilities outside of their role. Their songs have to accommodate the need for both units to perform on the track, that's why some sections of the same song sound like their switching genres. But, not only that, all of them participate in the songwriting and production of their music (in different capacities), and all of them have different musical tastes, so they solve this by altering their sound very often, or producing songs that are performed only by one member or a unit of the group (rap line and vocal line are the main units they divide themselves into). When they want to do something that they consider too out of the aesthetic, message or performance of BTS, they pour their creative juices into their solo projects. This can be testified by their older mixtapes on SoundCloud, collabs with other artists (mainstream and underground) and solo albums they're only recently coming out with, having more time to explore their musicality now that the group's activities are halted by their state-mandated enlistment. They are fans of music as a whole, are very talented and work very hard (sometimes they can be a bit too much of workaholics) to grow into their abilities. You'll find that out the more you explore their music😊

@@tommysaroda4446 Not gonna lie, that was pretty funny 😂 but yeah, we know from experience that thats how you get new cricket lovers and more people to fangirl/fanboy with about cricket. And it gets cricket publicity. It may seem that cricket has become pretty popular in recent years and doesn't need this kind of promotion but it is actually still very underappriciated and misunderstood by other sports lovers, as you can see in this video. While I prefer to just recommend my favourite songs to new reactors and give them warm words so they can explore the band themselves, some fans are more impatient and demanding but provide people with accurate and important information. I used to be affraid that this kind of comments may scare the reactors off but that's usually not the case. They seem to be very intrigued by the fandom itself and curious of how awsome an artist have to be to build that loyal and dedicated of a fanbase and that keeps them even more hooked on exploring the artist. Of course the views and engengment also help, some will just keep reacting for views. But sooner or later their true intentions will come to the surface. Nobody is forced to read those comments and react to another video from them. That's their choice but they hardly ever stop at only one video because they NEED this kind of engagement on their channel and A lot of them falls in love in the band in the process. its easiest to approach Kpop as an industry rather than a genre :) think Hollywood its an industry from a particular part of the world but the movies are many different genres :) What ties Kpop together is the system how they are trained (think like how athletes are scouted and trained), and Kpop focus alot both on the musical and visual and also most of the artists are well versed in other type of entertainment too and often take part in variety shows and some are talented actors :) BTS is the biggest and bit of a moldbreaker in Kpop since they have a big part in their music with composing, writing and producing and sing about topics that isnt so common like mental health, societal issues, self love and finding one self...

K pop music is an industry, like western music is an industry. Within the K pop music industry, there are different genres of music such as pop, rock, R&B, hip hop etc., just like in the western music industry. Boy bands developed by western industry standards are not like bands developed in the K pop industry. BTS is different from many artists in the K pop industry because they have music in several musical genres and styles. Yes they do sing and yes they do rap. Many multilingual artists mix English and different languages in a song. It's not done necessarily because there is no word in the language that they performing in. You will also find this in Latin, Afro Beats, and many other types of music.

I am fairly new to BTS and I’ve discovered that they can do any genre. This was a more hip hop pop song. Try “On: a kinetic manifesto film” which shows off their dance skills. There is a dance version and a movie type version. Then maybe “Blood Sweat and Tears “which has a more calypso beat and is artistic. Then “BTS Run” which is more rocking pop. Straight pop English songs that brought them to my attention in the US are Butter, Dynamite, and Permission to Dance. I am so impressed by their skills in vocals, rap, dance, and visuals.

Thanks for the reaction 💜 BTS is a group of 3 rappers (RM,SUGA,J HOPE) and 4 vocalist (V,JUNGKOOK,JIN,JIMIN) they are not your typical boy band as they always say, they do a lot genres but they started from hip-hop this song was kind of like a call out to haters. Anyways welcome into this world i hope you guys react more of them. You can check out Butter, dynamite, ON (kinetic menifesto film) next 💜

They are a group that is popular all over the world, including the United States. Their songs are often compared to the Beatles of the past. There is also a song called 'Butter' and 'Dynamite' that was nominated for Grammy and occupied Billboard, so be sure to check it out.

As someone who has been bilingual all my life, we dont switch between languages because of lack of words or because one language doesn't have a specific word (sometimes I do it for idioms, but not words) its usually a pretty unconscious thing most of the time or you've gotten used to saying certain words in one language more often that thats just what your brain defaults to. Aside from all that though, I genuinely think you guys would ADORE this group. BTS have definitely carved out a part of the world for themselves, they are all genuinely so talented its mind blowing. Also, when people say RM is the leader they literally mean he leads the group, and acts as the middleman between the company and the group. It doesn't necessarily mean he's the frontman, or the one who stands out the most, or anything like that. In all honestly there is no sole member that stands out over the others, they're all actually very evenly split. They're all multitalented, and have solo ventures while still being part of BTS. Like all the rappers have their own mixtapes/albums they've released, the vocalists have all had solo singles that have been part of BTS' album or just dropped on their own (They're all really diving into their solo work now, post Jin's military enlistment). They all have their own expertise within performance and songwriting that kinda allows for them to excel in the way they have. The NPR Tiny Desk is a good video just to see their vocals and the group dynamic (they have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists), or their 2021 live room Festa, which was kind of a medley of their songs from their first album to their latest. Just snippets but it was cool 💜

I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last Octobet where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time. You will feel the same energy. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯

Hi guys, thank you for taking the time to look into BTS. You'll find out there is more than meets the eye when it comes to BTS. I think you will really enjoy this band once you get to know more about it. Their story is great, they started from nothing and were the underdogs because they came from a small agency. Now that "small" agency is on the cover of Time Magazine as one of the most influential companies. My apologies in advance if this gets a little long, SORRY! I just want to help you out with some key things to know. - BTS = Bulletproof boy scouts (Bantang Soyeaondan in Korean), and it stands for being bulletproof to stereotypes, bulling and criticism. - Kpop (common misconception but it is not a genre) it's an industry. BTS started as a hip hop group in 2013, but quickly evolved and with in their 300+ song catalogue you can find pop, ballads, hip hop, R&B, EDM, rap, jazz, latin pop, etc. -There are 7 members: 3 rapers and 4 vocalists. Each of them so different from the other and bringing something unique to the table. *Kim Namjoon (RM): The leader of the group, born in 94' he is the main rapper, song writer, and super mega intelligent with an IQ of 148. He was the first member to be recruited and the band was built around him. He chose Rap Monster for his stage name, RM, but evolved and changed it to "Real Me". *Kim Seokjin (Jin): Born in 92' he is the oldest, and even though in Korea that means he has more privileges he doesn't use his "Hyung" (older brother) benefits. He is super funny and lovable. Was studding to become an actor when the recruiting team found him, and he was recruited mainly because of his good looks. He learned to sing and dance from 0, and now has one of the most beautiful voices in the industry. He is doing his military service right now. (they are taking a brake right now because they all have to go and will get back together in 2025) *Min Yoongi (SUGA): Born in 93' he is also a main rapper, song writer and producer. SUGA (ShooGua) means Shooting Guard, the position he played in his basketball team in high school. Yoongi is an introvert, who prefers to be in his studio writing songs, he writes an average of 300 songs a year. He writes and produces for other artists as well, not just BTS. *Jeon Hoseok (J-Hope): Born in 94' he is the lead dancer. His background is from street dancing. He also raps, and he is the happy engine of the group. He choose J-Hope for his stage name because he wanted to bring hope to people. *Park Jimin (Jimin): Born in 95' he is one of the main dancers, his background is in contemporary dance and was the last one to be recruited. Jimin has an angelic voice and a beautiful soul. *Kim Taehyung (V): Born in 95' Tae has one of the most unique soulful voices, he is the baritone of the group and has low tones and high pitches you wouldn't imagine. Have you heard the phrase "Think outside the box"? well, out of the seven that would be Tae. He is an artist in every aspect of the word. *Jung Jungkook (JK): Born in 97' he is the youngest of the group, also their main vocalist. He has the most stable voice specially when dancing... oh yeah they don't use playbacks, or lip sing, ever. JK is the "Golden Maknae" (Maknae = the youngest), RM gave him that nickname because he is good at everything he does... everything. -Their training period lasted about 2 years, where they lived in a dorm, many trainees came and went, about 30 I believe, and these 7 were chosen to become BTS. They were in their teens when they debuted, JK(youngest) was 16 and Jin(oldest) was 20. Their company, Big Hit entertainment (which mission statement is "Music and artist for healing") was a very small company, and the boys literary started from nothing. They all shared one room in their 2 room apartment and worked really hard to get where they are. -BTS's music talks about self-love, acceptance, political injustice, depression, mental health and more important subjects you don't really see pop groups singing about. They do not write your typical "love song". Their videos and lyrics have a lot of symbolisms, and for some you might need to watch the explanation video afterwards because it is too much to take in. They have a couple of songs addressing their hatters (yes, they get a lot of hate - and Mic Drop is one of them), and other songs dedicated to ARMY (The name of their fandom). - ARMY is a huge fandom, with men and women from all ages. (Not all teenage girls like many people think) -Visually, their videos are master pieces. Eye candy for the visual artists like me, and if you are into videos and editing... their cinematography and productions will blow your mind. Keep in mind in the Kpop industry the use of make up and clothing is part of the whole illusion to complete the "stage" (presentation). -These guys are down to earth, genuine, good guys. You can see it in everything they do. They have dedicated the last 10 years since they debuted in 2013 to give to their fans... they had a variety show called Run BTS and do regular Vlives with their fans. They are rewriting what the relationship between an artist and their fans is, and that is why we love them so much. -They have produced so much content, there is something for everyone. Not just the genres of their music, but their variety show RUN BTS, v lives, staycation shows IN THE SOOP, vacation shows BON VOYAGE, bangtan bombs and episodes (which are behind the scenes of everything they do), and solo work. ***Please keep in mind in the Korean culture it's ok to be friendly/touchy/caring for your bro, aside the fact these guys have lived together for 10 years. They grew up together and treat each other like family. If you want to hear sample of their music and variety of genres, "Room Live: Festa 2021" is a great video for you to check. Also, to get to know about their history, who they are and why we love them so much it would be great for you to check "A guide to BTS" by Taylor. Don't be scared of long videos, ARMY loves them and will watch every second of them with you. Pause if you need to read. As for suggestions... they have over 300 songs.... what kind of music do you like? lol... UGH!, Cyphers Part 1-4, Ddaeng, Daechwita, Joke, Outro:Tear if you like rap . Also... Fire, Dynamite, DNA, Save me, GoGo, Dionysius, Not Today, So what... are good to get you started. Bbapsae, UGH, Idol, Spring day (you'll need the explanation video afterwards) Fake Love, Blood Sweat and tears (eye candy videos - i mean cinematography and symbolism, not the cute guys - you will need explanation video for Blood Sweat and Tears) Their lives are amazing, and their BBMAS, AMAs, and Grammy's performances are really cool.... but nothing compared to the Asian Award Shows.... mmm... think about your favorite concert, mixed with cirque du solei, in a world cup stadium... and maybe you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about 😅. Start with their 2016 MMA... and go from there... 2016 was a turning point for them, that album got them their first BIG award, and it was the point where they truly embraced who they were and stoped trying to fit the Kpop molde. The MMA 2016 and MAMA 2016 live shows are amazing and they were so shocked to get artist and album of the year they were all crying. Those are good for you to start with their award show presentations. Many ARMYs will ask you for the MAMA 2019... but that is the Crown Jewel, I recommend you learn more about the band and their songs to truly apreciate it. (Keep in mind 2019 was the year they thought would be their last before going into military but covid hit the world making them postpone their military service 2+ years. They went all out for that award show, making it like a journey through their discography) Live presentations, MVs and dance practices will give you diferent perspectives and always something new to the song. ARMY will ask you to start reacting to their lives, and MVs, because they are amazing. And you will apreciate the fact that they sing live, they don't lip sing... all while doing all those dance moves. They do use backing tracks for effects, but they are singing live, and you can tell. They have connections between their songs and MVs, and easter eggs.... they do a lot of that. Some ARMYs will tell you it is because of the BU (Bangtang Universe) which is a parallel story line that runs through their MVs, but it is complemented with webtoons, blogs, video games, and other stuff to get the whole picture.... way to complicated for Baby ARMY and even older ARMY like myself. The good thing is that if you don't know the BU it's ok, because it is not really needed to understand their MVs. There are tons of video explanations mainly because of all the cultural references. But everything they do has a deeper message than what meets the eye. Quick example, and not the most impressive, but just the one that came to mind... the name of their song "Permission to Dance" is an anagram for "Stories on Pandemic". The production and thought process for their concepts are unprecedented in the music industry. Make sure to turn the captions on, they do sing some parts in english in some of them, but all of their songs are in mainly Korean and Japanese except for 3 that are fully in english. You can react to their videos from their official youtube channel, they don't do copyright clames if you show the intro. Ok , I'll stop here this is a lot of info. Sorry it got long. Welcome to the family! Can't wait to see your journey. ✌🏻💜

Thanks for your reaction. Don't let us BTS fans (ARMY) overwhelm you with our enthusiasm! Any order you explore their music and performances in will work. For your own enjoyment, I'd suggest starting with Tiny Desk Concert or Proof Live, so you can start getting familiar with their voices and faces, before you tackle their performances that also include a lot of complex visuals (like their choreography, and the symbolism in a lot of their music videos). But even if you start with one of their more mind-blowing performances (like the ones they did at the 2019 MAMA awards), you'll be fine. Those are just harder to take in when you're starting out - like drinking from a fire hose. Also, if you mention types if music you'd particularly like to hear, we'll be able to guide you better. Hope you'll enjoy exploring their creativity as much as I do!

Ooooh, ARMY’s gonna come after you for the “bad ass Backstreet Boys” comment. Thank you for your reaction. I subscribed to watch your BTS reactions. I, am (SILVER ARMY - 64 years old) & will give you a tiny bit of time to listen to more BTS. BTS is THE GENRE. There are 3, catchy, pop songs, completely in English, and this is what I’d say is kpop-ish. However, our BELOVED BTS young MEN are SUPERLATIVE, versatile, musicians, dancers, writers, producers, rappers! They cannot be put into any category. You MUST do research to find out who they are, how they began and how they BECAME THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD! They are completely UNIQUE & LOVE ARMY (their fans). There are 4 vocalists, 3 rappers, all dance, write, produce, etc. on the groups songs or individual projects. Check out * “Daechwita” by Agust D (BTS’ SUGA aka MIN YOONGI * “Set me Free” by BTS’ JIMIN aka Park JIMIN (Just released 3/17, with complete album release date 3/24). * BTS’ “ON: Kinetic Manifesto” * BTS’ “Black Swan” *BTS’ “Fake Love” * BTS’ cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” *BTS’ “Idol” * BTS’ “Blood, Sweat, Tears” BTS’ “N.O.” JHOPE’s (Kim Hoseok) “Arson” & “More” BTS rappers - “Ugh” & “DDAENGG” (sp?) So much more… I’m sure ARMY has listed a bunch of different ones! Their lyrics has deep meanings, are positive, fantastic beats, emotion, unreal videos & OH YEAH, they have DANCE PRACTICES, their OWN tv show “BTS Run” where you can watch them interact with one another and begin to understand their personalities, be able to tell them apart (constantly changing hair cut, style, COLOR, fashion…everything). Good luck on your journey if you should decide to JOIN the rest of us who are DELIGHTED BY THESE AMAZING, young SUPERSTARS!

BTS debuted in 2013 as a Hip Hop Idol Group in South Korea. Their sound has grown and evolved over time to include many different genre's. You can't put a label on what they do "Normally", they do all genre's and styles of music, they write, compose, and produce most of their own music (as well as with their production team), and they all have a specialty they bring to the group. Their are seven members, 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, although they can all rap, dance, and sing. Comparing them to Western Boy Bands probably isn't a great idea, they really don't fit with that category. KPOP is the industry that they came out of, but they have grown beyond that label to just be a musical group that love to peform, and their roots are hip hop. Please react to more BTS. By the way, they did release three all English Pop songs, but even those aren't typical boy band, in my opinion. And if you listen to their solo work, they are all different styles, even between the rappers. But they are all Globally successful as a group, and as solo artists. Please react to thier 2020 Tiny Desk Concert. And it has accurate subtitles BTS NPR Tiny Desk Home concert - kzread.info/dash/bejne/mXqNo7qskZrWlZs.html

Yes, I think the Tiny Desk Concert is a good place to start. It's has a live band, but is pared down enough that you really can hear what each member sounds like and get a feel for their sincerity and fun group dynamic. And I think you'll find it more accessible, as newbies, than the medleys, concert performances, and Music Videos (or, heaven forbid, the MAMA performances!). Those are worth watching, but more overwhelming when you're starting out.

You are in for such such amazing music and talent. They are nothing like you'd expect in every aspect and from every angle. This song is more of their edm/hip hop inspired song but they have a huge and diverse discography. I would recommend starting with 'BTS Festa Room Live 2021' and 'Proof Live 2022 Born Singer' to see their versatility + live vocal skills, and Run BTS Dance Practice, On Kinetic Manifesto, as well as Black Swan to see more of their amazing dancing skills! If you like rap, I also recommend Cyphers 2-4. I would also HIGHLY recommend watching an intro to them...there's one by Taylor called A guide to BTS members: Bangtan 7 that's very thorough and updated for this year. You'll quickly see that they are true artists, genius lyricists, philanthropists, advocates, and not merely just some boy band. :)

Most reactors start with one of their English songs, and then they have such a "culture shock" to see a song like Mic Drop. So, I applaud you for starting with this song. It's def a good first impression of the guys, but you've only scratched the surface. BTS is SO much bigger, more versatile than this song. They don't have one genre of music they're NOT good in (they basically rock everything!) and unlike the typical boybands, they write and produce their own songs. Honestly, when I became ARMY, it was mindblowing to me the level of talent these guys have and even with the successes they've had, they're still so down to earth and humble. And their bond with ARMY is something I've never seen or experienced between a band and their fans before. It's a family. We're there for each other. If you're following this rabbit hole, be sure to be amazed like 90% of the time!

I have to apologize on behalf of the hate you had from the same fandom, they are just so protective of them and if you'll get to know them you'll understand why.

*REACT TO BLACKPINK* (MVS) - SHUT DOWN (NEW) - PINK VENOM (NEW) - KILL THIS LOVE - HOW YOU LIKE THAT - BOOMBAYAH - AS IF ITS YOUR LAST - DDU DU DDU DU - WHISTLE - PLAYING WITH FIRE - LOVESICK GIRLS - STAY - READY FOR LOVE - SOLO (JENNIE) - GONE (ROSÉ) - ON THE GROUND (ROSÉ) - LALISA(LISA) - MONEY(LISA) These songs don't have a music video, but believe me they are even better than the songs with a video, Blackpink does not disappoint. - PRETTY SAVAGE - LOVE TO HATE ME - CRAZY OVER YOU - TYPA GIRL - HARD TO LOVE(ROSÉ) - YOU NEVER KNOW - THE HAPPIEST GIRL - TALLY - REALLY - DONT KNOW WATH TO DO - FOREVER YOUNG - HOPE NOT - YEAH YEAH YEAH - SEE U LATER - KICK IT - SOUR CANDY FT (LADY GAGA) - BET YOU WANNA FT (CARDI B) - KISS AND MAKE UP FT (DUA LIPA) These are all of BLACKPINK's songs, as you can see, they don't exceed 40 and even so, that was enough for them to be the biggest girl group of all time.
