There are so many good songs of BTS. They are amazing. You name a genre, and I can name a song in that genre. They write, produce, and compose almost everything on their own. There are only a few songs where the members weren't involved in making the song. If you get to know them better, you'll understand why they are so popular. I really recommend you to react to a guide to bts by Taylor. Armys love long reactions, so you don't have to worry about the length of the video. In fact, we prefer longer videos. Thank you for the reaction! I'm excited!💜

Taylor's guide is a must to help dissipate some misconceptions about the guys indeed! And learn about them individually. A warning though: there's no voice-over, so you guys will have to read through it. Though people get into it pretty easily in general, and you shouldn't be afraid to pause to read through the info. There's another video with a voice-over by xCeleste called "This is BTS", but it's more of a quick introduction to the group rather than an introduction to the members individually. And she also made a video about their numerous hardships if you guys are interested in the darker part of their rise to success 💜

I would also mention that if you check out their earliest works 2013-2015, some of the official videos don’t have English subtitles available . There are really good channels that have done them for global fans (eg. Bangtan Subs and Enjoy Bangtan More). So for reaction videos it would be great for you to discover their early hip hop/rap songs with Eng CCs 💜. Whatever you do, avoid their biggest English hit songs until later in the journey. They are very commercial pop, and most of us love them, but they don’t reflect the true essence of BTS. A lot of reactors start with them as they have the highest views on KZread, and write BTS off as pop stars. As rappers yourselves, take all the rap song suggestions in the comments first is my strong recommendation.

You have to realize that BTS has become one of the biggest, if not THE biggest...groups in the world singing mostly in Korean. THAT is how powerful their music is. They transcended K Pop and Pop a long time ago. They have been together for ten years and have a huge discography that includes pop, Latin pop, rap and many more genres. They are basically their own genre. They write, produce, sing, rap, dance and are seven of the most humble, hard working artists you could ever meet. You are rappers so concentrate on their rap stuff for now. Suga has an incredible body of work, start with his trilogy under his solo alias, Augst D: Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. J Hope just did a collab with J Cole, which is incredible. And RM, the group leader, released a solo rap album last fall. You can check out their vocal stuff as well, but start with the rap. I am 64 and am as big a BTS fan as you could ever meet. I never cared about rap, but falling in love with BTS, MI have developed a new appreciation for it. All seven members are currently serving their mandatory time in the Korean military and will reunite in 2025. They have left s a lot of great new music to get us through until then. Jung Kook's solo "Standing Next To You" is currently at the top of the charts and even though you don't like pop, you might appreciate the funky style and dancing on the video featuring Usher.

@@2Real_TVJ. Cole is J-Hope’s favorite artist and one of his major hip-hop influences. Additionally, in 2013 to celebrate their first month after their debut, BTS released a song called Born Singer which sampled J. Cole’s Born Sinner. The lyrics describe the rappers’ journeys working their way into the music industry. There’s an updated version of it on their 2022 anthology album Proof, which they performed with a live band on Proof Live (available on their YT channel BANGTANTV) along with two new songs included on the album. Check it out, it’s a similar format to “Tiny Desk” performances so it’s a good way to appreciate their vocals.

For more context in RM's own words about MIC Drop - 'Based on what I read - the letters from our fans, or what they told us. "When people criticize you guys without a reason and make fun of you, what should I do?", "I feel so angry." - our fans told us such things a lot. I don't know. I think I have to listen to criticism more carefully because no one in the world is perfect. If you believe you're always right, you'd become dogmatic. That's why we always have to be open to constructive criticism. But as for those who blindly criticize or mock us, I feel sorry for them. Because there are so many good things out there in the world. So many good things to see and hear. Life is too short to appreciate those things. But when people behave rudely and threaten others, I just...You can think of "MIC Drop" in that case.' That's why this song is more swag than anger.

Steve Aoki is American. He was born in Miami and grew up in California. BTS are genius musicians, writers, producers and performers. They really transcend KPop, both because they are bigger than all of KPop combined and because they don't exactly fit within the parameters. They were treated as misfits for years abd ostracized and shunned in KPop by the industry and other artists. A Spotify exec said the reason they keep the KPop category is BTS, who make up more than half of the streams. BTS have always written their own music from the beginning, telling their own stories. They single handedly took their broke, indie label from the rock bottom to now being bigger than the previous biggest three labels in S Korea combined. They sell out the biggest stadiums in the world, all over the world, in minutes. BTS are amazing. They have 20 albums as a group and 11 solo albums among members. Hardest working group in music. They are known for their amazing live performances, beautiful and complex choreography, their incredible musical diversity, the depth and layers to their lyricism and storytelling, being political and courageous in their subject matter, their incredible MVs, their strong bond with one another and with their fanbase, ARMY. They have the best rapline in the industry and three of the best rappers in the world, period. Agust D/Suga of BTS had the biggest and most lucrative solo world tour of a rapper in global history last year. They curse plenty in their solo rap work and some in BTS songs as well, but remember that S Korea is a pretty conservative culture. Their vocal line is also amazing, record breaking and incredible. I recommend all their solo work as well. BTS have all set so many world records they are already in the Guiness Hall of Fame. They have broken records by the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Adele, etc. They have 5 grammy nominations. They are well on their way to being the most awarded artists in history with about 1000 awards now. Their not kidding about the trophies in this song. Their label has an interactive museum for them inside their new buidling which has a big room for all their trophies. All this without industry support and while fighting an insane amount of organized hate as industry outsiders and misfits. Their fanbase is estimated at about 90-100 million globally. There are very good reasons they are this big. I encourage you to dive into their discography or watch Taylor's Guide to the Bangtan 7. You won't be sorry you did.

Just be open to something. Thanks for reacting to BTS.

Thank you for this reaction!! BTS debuted in 2013 with 7 members: Rm, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. If you like rap you should definitely check out songs by the BTS rap line as well as their solo stuff!! The Rap line consists of RM, Suga and J-Hope. Rap line songs: - Outro: Tear - Cyphers 1-4 - Ddaeng - UGH Solos: RM - Joke, Do You, Intro: Persona, Monster, Awakening, Wild Flower Suga/Agust D (for his solo stuff he goes by Agust D) - Daechwita, Haegeum, Agust D, Amygdala, Interlude: Shadow, The Last J-Hope - 1Verse, Arson, Airplane, Chicken Noodle Soup (with Becky G), More, on the street (with J.Cole) I have to say the BTS rap line really is NO joke. Their lyrics, their energy, their flow, their wordplay are incredible. They are just so real and authentic and each of them shines with their own unique style. A brief breakdown of their rap styles: - J-Hope is "retro old school meets new age". He's a dancer at his core so his music puts lot of focus on unique beats and cadence. - Suga/AgustD is "classical and introspective". He's a producer at heart so he will give you the 360 auditory experience. - RM is "rhythm and poetry". He say's he's a poet first before he's a rapper. Musically he's most adventurous these days bending genre and sounds. or the TLDR version: Suga will tell you you are sh*t, RM will explain why you are sh*t and J-Hope will tell you it's okay to be sh*t😭😂 If you are looking for BTS songs with the whole group, which are more rap dominated i can recommend these ones: - Run BTS (fyi the song is called "Run BTS" not to be confused with the song "Run" by Bts) - Born Singer - Hip Hop Phile - Black Swan - We On - ON - Dionysus All these songs are just a few of my personal recommendations but there is so much more to check out. Have fun!💜

Even when they don't write some songs, they participate actively in them. Most of their lyrics are meaningful and deep. They are savage in their diss tracks but never vulgar. Thanks for this reaction. :) To explain a little bit about the background of Mic Drop, now BTS is the biggest boy band in the world. But they started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves. It's a song for their haters. :) The direction of Mic Drop's lyrics began with the idea of J-Hope, the main dancer and dance leader of BTS. And 'Mic Drop' at the end of this music video is a performance created by BTS leader RM inspired by Barack Obama's speech. :) If you're interested in their live performances, just check this out. [BANGTAN BOMB] 2017 MAMA Mic Drop. (BTS focus) kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKCjr9OEj9yulps.html It's not an official MAMA video broadcast on TV, but a full-cam taken by Big Hit. I recommend this because the camera work on official MAMA is so messed up. In this performance, Mic Drop was their 4th song, so the members were exhausted and held on with their mental strength only. And, there were even three dance breaks at this time. I can feel all of them Even if I die, I will die on stage. The energy is crazy! And I highly recommend Run BTS live performance and dance practice. :) [CHOREOGRAPHY] BTS (방탄소년단) '달려라 방탄 (Run BTS)' Dance Practice kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6WLltqRhcrTntI.html 'BTS (방탄소년단) '달려라 방탄 (Run BTS) @ BTS 'Yer To Come' in BUSAN kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZZrksmchLnciaw.html '[BANGTAN BOMB] ‘MIC Drop' & '달려라 방탄(Run BTS)' stage CAM (BTS focus) kzread.info/dash/bejne/ip2bqcSzpMieh8o.html This live was performed at a concert in Busan, Korea 2022 October, with Mic Drop. Oh, there is another song BTS worked on with Steve Aoki. The Truth Untold is a unit song by BTS' four vocalists, completely different from Mic Drop. :) If you like rap, I would like to recommend We On. There are 3 incredible rappers and 4 equally awesome singers. The BTS guys, particularly RM, Suga and J-Hope, are genius lyricists. Their songs are a mix of very deep lyrics with multiple levels of meanings, incredible word play and many times full of cultural, historical and psychological references. Because of this, there tends to be explanation videos of many of their songs for non-Koreans which are really helpful and interesting because one would otherwise miss quite a bit. Also, just so you know their live performances are even better than their music videos. You’ll find, if you delve a bit deeper, that each of their songs are unique and they include multiple genres. Hope you choose to explore further. They’ve released a lot of solo work lately because they are all currently serving in the military, which is mandatory for all South Korean men. They’ll regroup in 2025 when everyone has completed their enlistment. Since you prefer rap, I suggest you start with Ugh and Ugh explanation - kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIyap6aeoKnWcbg.htmlsi=klDKSaefnVtla1jB and kzread.info/dash/bejne/daVn0KmipZPFl6w.htmlsi=IvSi3hNdPNL4314c Then for a taste of solo work I’d start with Suga/AgustD’s trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala - kzread.info/dash/bejne/qnpsmMiQhpu0m7Q.htmlsi=i8EreygHdg1yzXsy

BTS swear all the time. Mainly more in their solo songs though or their rap line only songs. The rap line is Suga a.k.a. Agust D, RM, and J-hope. Korean doesn’t translate as well to English though like to us some lyrics may not sound really hard with the English translations, but to the Korean ear, shit hits hard. If that makes sense lol. I would react to Outro: Tear, UGH!, Ddaeng, Born Singer and Cypher 1-4. Their solo stuff is a must too because they go off on those songs 👏🏻

You are not alone in your misconceptions of what kind of music/performances BTS is beloved for. Most westerners assume that BTS is Pop music - Big mistake! This is grown-men music and rap. Once you get past the flows, choreography and excellent video production, you should take the time to check out their lyrics. Genius and deep. Since you love rap I would recommend checking out Cypers 1-4, Ugh!, Baepsae (Silver Spoon), Idol. Then, you can get into their solo work: Agust-D: Daechwita, Haegum, Agust-d. For RM check out a collab. with Wale: change. Then J-Hope with J-Cole. They run deep - so start there. Good luck men.

Thanks for reacting. So basically in South Korea (SK) they are censored in terms of vulgarity/language when it comes to things being played on public airways, on TV, in music shows etc. BTS an individual members and in some B-sides will use more profanity but not for the use of profanity itself, but where they think is helps to emphasize a point or what they are saying. The are one of the few groups with real rappers (rappers write they own raps) as a lot of the other groups don't write or even have input into their creative process. Also, K-pop is an industry not a real genre. Within K-pop there is pop, rap, rock or noise music, etc. which confuses a lot of people because they expect solely pop (Justin Bieber type) music.

I actually snorted when you said that Mic Drop was from their earlier career, haha. Because even if your not wrong, they've been around since 2013. 2017 was when they started to get big on an international level. No More Dream and We Are Bulletproof pt 2 are from their first album if you want OG stuff. There's no subtitles on the official MVs though. Their first albums were more hip hop oriented since they orginally were supposed to be a hip hop group. But the concept changed before it even started. That's why 2 of their rappers come from the underground scene. They don't settle on on a specific genre so don't get to caught up on what you heard in this vid or even what you may have heard on the radio. Their lyrics are often really important as they write with purpose and meaning. For an example of that, you might want to listen to Black Swan. It's vastly different from Mic Drop 💜

As an Army, i admire BTS rap line more and more...i would say that BTS raps are more "intellectual rap"(?) I guess.... i mean they can use swear words, and they have swear words in their solo songs.... but this will not just test BTS creativity but test how smart they are by playing on words. They curse you in the face without you knowing it. Makes it more insulting that hearing them curse you in your face tbh 🤣🤣🤣 This song is a Diss and a Flex of their achievements. Many hate them and their achievements (BTS came from a small company that almost went bunkrupt to now being 1 of the most PROFITABLE Company in Korea) and Yes there's no empty seats in their concert. Buying concert ticket is like playing hunger games💀 and also their Trophies and Awards are countless. Let's say about 800(?) 😁 So this song Mic Drop is them saying that: "We have achieved these things and we don't need to prove anything to anybody anymore.... You (haters) don't need to apologize if you don't like. We don't need it... We're out. Mic drop..

BTS has 3 rappers and four vocalists who can also rap a bit. The two rappers, Suga and RM were underground rappers as young as 13 years old before they joined BTS. Suga is the one who said "You're a tasteless Ratatouille. RM is the one rapping in English. Jhope is the first rapper. He was a champion street dancer before he joined BTS. Just so you know... Suga and RM are the best rappers in KPop. They are also songwriters, producers and composers. They write and produce their own songs. Mic Drop is a song for their haters especially the rappers who got numerous backlash from other underground rappers because they chose to be idols. The Kpop idols are not considered artists in South Korea because they don't write and produce their own songs. BTS however, write and produce their own songs. All members are songwriters, composers and producers. Having 7 members in a group is not really big in KPop. Some groups have 13 members. Others even have 23. LOL! If you love rap. You may want to check out the rappers solo albums: RM- Indigo, Suga- DDay, Jhope- Jack in the Box. RM is known for his poetic word play. Suga is known for his raw lyrics. Trust me, they won't disappoint you. That's the reason why BTS is the biggest boy group in the world. Just so you know... Even up to now, only RM is fluent in English. The other members are still learning but they aren't that good in speaking English yet. Many Koreans still don't know how to speak English. BTS doesn't only settle in pop music. They do pop, hip hop, EDM, rock, R&B, Jazz, classic, ballad, latin pop, name it they have it. Their dance also goes with the genre of their songs. They do contemporary dance, modern dance, hip hop dance, interpretative dance. BTW, BTS started as hip hop group. So you might want to check out their songs when they debuted in 2013. For pop, performing songs with explicit lyrics/content on network TV in Korea will get rejected. Even if the content are not that bad, but they sometimes don’t pass the review and so they can’t perform it on korean TV. You’ll probably see a little more in their b-sides, but the focus is on the message they want to send and the point of releasing a single is to promote their album/music to the masses. I love the b-sides. But it’s not like they don’t swear or whatever in real life, because how can you be underground rappers and not tell it like it is/express themselves freely? That’s why the rappers’ mixtapes are something else 😏 Anyway, BTS write and produce their music, unlike other groups (like the one you mentioned) whose labels give them the song and verses to sing and rap. A rapper write their bars.

Seriously, look up J Hope at Lollapalooza, RM Joke, Ugh, Ddaeng. Since there are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, most songs have a little rap, or a lot. The rap line writes their own music for the rap and vocal line. All of them have many credits now. 10 yrs, like 300 songs. They are not all fluent in English but they take it in school and don’t have a problem following English lyrics, or translating so they understand, the way translate theirs. Hahaha you are wrong, BTS are not a soft group that doesn't say bad words, especially the rap line, especially Agust D (Suga in BTS). They just make a lot of music, literally a lot of music because they are seven artists with very different styles in one group, they make pop, R&B, ballads, etc and etc. The songs usually have a lot of meaning behind them, a lot of music is exclusively for Army (fandom) but when you understand their world and their art, you can't go back. Maybe you like cyphers 1,2,3 and 4 or also "UGH" the lyrics first and then live at the Busan concert. They are great, they are very talented and they can do what they want. Extra fact: they are very fun, very professional but at the same time they don't take themselves very seriously. I hope you continue to discover them, you won't regret it and Suga, RM and JHope are real rappers. We also love when you react to "A guide to BTS members: bantang seven" by Taylor, 47 minutes but you should upload it all at once, not in parts. Greetings from Argentina 💜

Thanks for the reaction guys. BTS are 3 rappers and 5 vocalists. 2 rappers were from underground. They rap, sing, dance, produce music, write songs, play instruments and many more. Hope you can check their other other, I know Army(BTS fans) will help you here on what to watch. And as to dancing, yeesss they are very good at it 😂😂😂 They are world phenomenon and uncomparable. Welcome to BTS rabbit hole. We army will be here to support your channel. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

RM and Suga and JHope are the main rappers....listen to their individual music, you will have your minds blown! "Dope" (this doesn't refer to drugs) and "Agust D" are two songs to listen to. ...both are diss tracks. Also, you mentioned the language difference. BTS sings in Korean, English, Japanese...and a little bit of French. Always Korean and English in the same song. They have fans all over the world, and there are translations for all of their songs into many languages. So, no, fans are not turned off in any way because BTS doesn't sing in English, in fact, just the opposite. RM and Suga and JHope, (who do a lot of the writing and producing, not just the rap songs), write with a mature philosophy of self love, self awareness, issues of mental health, ignoring haters, societal concerns for youth (and adults) ..and inclusivity. BTS doesn't need to use explicit language or themes. They find it disrespectful and unnecessary to mention body parts. Rap music can exist without this.😅 Because of their message around the world, they have received the Order of Cultural Merit from the South Korean President, they have spoken at the United Nations three times - once in person..and twice by "Zoom" during Covid, and Joe Biden invited them to the Whitehouse to share in a conversation about racism. BTS also includes 4 vocalists who can sing anything, any range. Their songs are written to include all 7 voices. They have written, collectively and individually, over 400 songs as of December 22, 2023. They include a variety of genres, from the light, pop music you mentioned, to R&B, EDM, Latin Pop, hip hop...If you don't care for one type of music, keep listening, you're bound to find something you like.😊 Or not, BTS is not for everyone, of course. BTS - Bangtan Sonyeondan - Bulletproof Boyscouts "Bulletproof" ...so the racism, hate comments, false accusations, belittlement, and death threats will be deflected away from them. They faced a lot of this in the earlier days (2013), but unfortunately, it still continues today. Update...All BTS members are currently enlisted in the South Korean Military to complete 18-20 months of mandatory service. Jin comes back this June, and the others at various times after that until June 2025. I could go on 😅 but just a bit of background about why "Army" fandom loves BTS! Thank you for your reaction. One more thing, we often listen/watch the video twice; once just to enjoy the singing, dancing, effects, and the second time to focus on the subtitles..it's too hard to do both at the same time 😅

It's easier to use curse words in a song than making a song that will have the same impact but without the cursing. But that said, they do curse in their rap songs.. 😂 Especially in solo work. It's even that more satisfying when they throw in a curse word out of nowhere and to emphasise something.. Not just to fill in space.

Is not that people in Korea knows English as default, is that if you like something, you put some effort and learn what you need to. Also, most international fans do not speak English, or Korean, but we look up translations, and explanation videos even. Americans (not all of them, obviously) expects everything to be catered to them and if you dare to spice things up in another language (specially Spanish that is seen as inferior to English) they tap out in a sec. BTS has 3 songs fully in English, a few in Japanese, and the rest are in Korean, quite a few of those with some English here and there for artistic purposes. Also, they as a group do not swear. They do not need to -->> Check the song Ddaeng (and the explanation video by DKDKTV). As solo artists they do swear in English, and in Korean 😂

no reason to use cuss words constantly. makes people who do that look like they need to improve their vocabulary. You should watch August D and RM's Joke. They dress like whatever era they are taking beats from, or to fit the genre of the time it comes from. They have great style and their live concerts are the best ! You should watch Rice squads BTS guide. It will give much more info on BTS and some general info on K-pop. One Direction, ROFLMAO. 💜 Maybe try Fire next?

8:35 BTS tends to use their brains more than simply rhyming or saying things just for the shock value. Even simple seeming lines like this one had layers and anagrams for subtle flexes. Not for every song but for majority there's history and genius level (148 IQ for 1 member) complexities which makes it fun for the listeners to deep dive and solve the meanings past a trendy song or a good beat. Plus they know when to curse for main media play. Once you listen more to their B‐sides you'll also see they've never been afraid to curse 😂 Thanks for your reaction!

Helloooo. Thanks for reacting to my all time fav group. BTS sometimes uses swearwords, but not much. Some solo stuff used more swearing. They have MANY different genres of music. Tbh, kpop is nothing like western pop. It's more an industry than a genre. Most groups have multiple genres and most groups have rappers. BTS has 3 rappers, RM, Suga and J-hope. I'm pretty sure you both will LOVE Suga's solo stuff. Check out August D (his solo name) and then check out the thrilogy (Daechwita, Haegum and Amygdala). I'm absolutely sure you will like him a lot. BTS has many rap heavy songs, maybe start with their Cyphers. Some other cool groups with very good rappers you can check out are Stray Kids (they have 3 'main' rappers but almost all their 8 members rap at times.) And try ATEEZ. Those are some newer generation kpop groups and that definitely has a vibe.
