First Time Bottom Bouncing for Steelhead using Raven RPX Spiral Wrap - Niagara River 2019

Спорт

Today I got to test out my Raven RPX Spiral Wrap on the mighty Niagara river. It's my first time bottom bouncing with it and it handled the situation very well. I just wished I was able to land all my fish but at least I had some action for the day.

I’m glad you got to land one, it’s tough landing them with the strong current and rocks around. Looks like a lot of fun out there. Happy New Year!

True North Angler it was my first time using my baitcaster on the Niagara and It was giving me issues with the drag. Plus i found my leader just a bit too light. On my next outing I bumped my leader to 10lb and managed to get a couple in

Cray Outdoors i wish had landed them all but that current was way too strong for my 8lb leader. My next outing I bumped my leader to 10lbs and had no issues in landing a couple fish in.

Another great video and in my backyard. Happy New Years. Here’s. New Years question for you, if you could only use one rod, one reel and one lure for 2020, what would you chose?

Actually Andrew Fishing thats a hard one. I would probably go with a 7’ medium/fast rod on a size 3000 spinning reel, throwing a rapala xrap 10. I think that would be a versatile setup for almost every species I target

Paul Beaulieu I like it a lot. It has a soft tip with a strong backbone. Before this rod I’ve been bottom bouncing with my 10’6 avid medium/fast and i find it doesn’t work well. I find it doesn’t absorb the headshakes well and doesn’t have much give...too stiff
