Bottom Bouncing for Niagara River Steelhead & Brown Trout 2019

Спорт

Today I got to test out my New Raven RPX 11.6 Custom Rod. I liked the RPX line so much that I bought this one after previously using the Spiral Wrap Rod on my last outing. I just like how well it fights fish with the soft tip and strong backbone. Today I went 5 for 6 but I should've gone perfect if I wasn't trying to horse my fish in.
GEAR USED
Rod: Raven RPX 11'6 Custom
Reel: Shimano Stradic Ci4+
Main Line: 10lb Berkley Fireline Crystal
Leader Line: 10lb Flurocarbon

You’re the man, Pump. Showing those guys at the lower Niagara who’s boss. I think the one guy down from you that said to call when you have a fish on was getting pissed that you’re catching them and he’s not. I see you went back to the spinning reel, looked like a good day at both spots. 👍from the North. Adrian

True North Angler haha, it’s all good...he was cool. I think that was my 3rd or 4th cast and hooked up right away. My second fish was caught on the third cast after then the bite slowed down for us so we moved spots. New spot, first fish was on my 3rd cast

@@brucele5096it’s etiquette down there to call your fish because when it’s busy generally you are casting over each other’s lines

The one thing I hate about Niagara…it is one of the windiest places in Canada. If the west wind isn’t blowing out the river, the north wind is freezing your nards off

Isco Disco that’s if you fish behind the fence where they’re doing construction. Fishing on the bridge is fine.

What’s your setup and how are you bouncing it? Are you reeling in and jerking hard or slight tip rises while it floats?

Hook And Reel Fishing bottom bouncing rig with a 3 way swivel to a 3/4 - 1 1/2 (depending on current) to a 1 foot to 3 foot leader to your bait of choice. You cast upstream and let the current take your bait down river. The key is to tick bottom, not drag or not feel bottom. The fish are all hugging close to the bottom and are waiting for food to pass by
