Absolutely epic!! Well done Dave! You should turn the two set up segments in two how to videos. I think both would get loads of view with the interest in the comment section. 👌

Hey Dave, what site do you use to track water conditions at the whirlpool?

There is a site I go to for water temperature to decide when the season is over. There is an ice boom camera and niagara falls webcams that can occasionally be checked the day before you go. There are angers you can follow that occasionally give updates like denis kreze. The best thing is to look for trends in the wind. when you get in the neighbourhood of 35+KPH from the west or SW There is a good chance the river is taking on colour. There is no silver bullet. The rain is rarely a factor, more often than not it is the wind that blows out the river especially when the lake has not frozen over.

geniunely curious why you don't prefer a three way swivel for bottom bouncing, as opposed to your rig at the end of the video using bobber stops? thanks for sharing your rig setups Dave! tight lines

I honestly tied it for the first time in the brown trout video. It was basically just pairing a helicopter rig from carp fishing with a rig I saw Kyle McClelland do on @adventurechasing. I have been quite pleased with it. I have fished a three way swivel before and had some terrible tangles. It was basically an experiment that went well. I do like the look of the t-turn swivels but have not tried them yet. With the way I tied it and with the t-turn swivel the leader seems to have a little more freedom from twists and tangles. I do see myself far less inclined to go back to a conventional 3 way swivel.

The Nishine Dropshot Minnow can be purchased directly from the Nishine website (link in the description box). I believe Dave purchased his from our local shop Peter's tackle and Live bait in ST. Catharines ,Ontario
