Hey Joe I do about the same thing. I use a heavy welding wire for a longer bottom leg for around trees/brush like 15” plus also I use a ball bearing swivel on all my bouncers. If you get in and algae Blume a standard swivel will lock up and twist your line bad. Instead of a loop in the lead I just put a kink and it works fine. I build bouncers up to 6oz for deeper water/ salmon at Ft. peck and speed trolling spinners like 2 mph. Great way to build what you need. How well does the electric wire work? Looks a hair soft to me but in the lighter weights it should be ok. Good luck!

I thought about using some welding wire, but the stuff I had was not heavy enough. I will definitely try to pick some up. The electrical wire was a bit soft in my opinion as well. Not bad for a first try though. Thanks for the advice on the swivel. What shape do you pour yours in? Do you think I will have much trouble with the egg pattern? The salmon on Fort Peck sound like a blast! What time of year do you target those guys? I am thinking about running up there very soon to try and find some walleye. Last weeks episode of in-depth outdoors got me all worked up! Thanks for your Great information and I wish you the best. By the way, I have never fished like this before, so I am very excited to try and give it a go. Most of my summer fishing has been small creeks with spinners for trout. Now that I have extra time, those fish better watch out!

I used the egg shape in large sizes and regular shape (?) for 3oz and under. So far the egg shape works fine. I run quick fish on the 5oz bouncer while I’m casting spoons on Sept and Oct. I’ve had three fish on and not landed any. Mostly because I was by myself. One fish got in the dock wires the others just came unhooked. The stiffer wire tells the bottom better, rock , muck, weeds etc. The pictures and video from Ft. Peck is off the hook right now!

This would have been a lot more interesting if the electric fence was still on. I do hope your brother gifts you with a processed beef each year. Great two fer mold. Love the wrap on the swivel trick and the harbor freight magnet trays. Giving the chinese kids a break 🤣🤣🤣

Always a good idea to have your buddy check the electric fence. I was living on the edge that day.

Thank you sir. We will be giving them a try out in the morning on big Horn Lake in Wyoming. Hopefully they bring good luck.
