    You running 1/2 or 3/4 oz floats in the gorge? Downriver I've found that 1/2 oz is about as light as I can go to get to the bottom quickly enough.

    Love the channel man. Question, when your float fishing the lower how long is your line below your float when in the water? Like if the waters 10 feet deep do you change your float stopper & raise it higher? If that makes any sense.

    Thanks man! It all depends on the spot, usually a good rule of thumb is to start off floating 8ft. If you don't hit bottom go to 9ft, if you don't hit bottom go to 10ft. Once you get hung up on the bottom move up one foot and you should be good u

    @@OutsidersOutdoorCo Im sorry about all the questions, but would I be ok using braided line for main & fluro for my leader? Right now I use regular 12 lb fluro on my set up & broke off 6 times this morning down in the lower. I’m thinking I don’t have the right diameter & strength. Any recommendations? Thanks again & sorry to blow you up!

  • @OutsidersOutdoorCo

    @OutsidersOutdoorCo

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@fishingaddict4657 hahaha don't worry about it lol. I usually stick to fluro for the main line because when it's below freezing the water absorbs into the braid and freezes, making it almost impossible to cast. My spinning rod is spoiled up with 15lb fluro with 10lb fluro leader. Too reduced brake offs I like to keep my rod tip as high as possible to keep the line away from the rocks. Also just take your time and don't get excited, bcuz when you get excited all your training leaves your memory and you panic. You just gotta tire the fish out, if it's sitting in the current just let it sit there, it will tired itself out. And lasty know it's not gonna come in in 30seconds to be patient. I think that just about covers it 😂
