    Because there was something about the OG 2000 Ravens and the first hard knocks just didn't hold back like they do now. They show alot, but back then they showed a little of it all, football, or not. The realness was undisputed.

    I had heat stroke in prison, (the same one as lawrence phillips to which he died just year later) but i kept thinking of stringer as this pain would leave by begging to die as the whole tightens up looking for fluid which i already perspired in 106 desert heat from 3 hour work out. Dropped 16 lbs in 4 hours. The light at tunnel is very real but i remember going through it .

    He's got the rings plus made the Pro Bowl, I believe, 8 times. Also on the NFL's All Pro/All Decade teams and oh yeah, he's in Canton. Arguably the best TE to ever play and you can't forget his brother, Sterling. Another Sharpe who was an All Pro receiver multiple times. He credited his catching ability from catching 12-15k chickens a night for a job as a kid. Take that plus that drive to work hard...no surprise he reached the heights that he did.

    I still laugh at when Rex Ryan said "The lights are on, so, let's get after some ass." at 34:54-34:56. I remember watching this episode of 'NFL Hard Knocks' when it first aired on TV & was like "Did Rex Ryan just say what I think he said???..." while sporting a serious face & trying not to laugh because I was literally shocked as to what I had just heard.

    10:02 I had to drill this with my son all through high school. He needed weekly reps to keep this instinctual. for a pro to still need it, makes me realize how important it is. The coaches never emphasized this enough.

    "The Turk" Joe Douglas is now the GM for the Jets. The guy who used to go get the players from their hotel rooms and send them to Billick's office to be cut would become an NFL GM 18 years later. Goes to show how good this organization was at developing talent, not only on the field but within the coaching staff and front office as well.

But he stayed with the Ravens for 15 years and became an integral part of the personnel department. He then became the Bears Director of College Scouting, and the Eagles VP of Player Personnel. So I'd say he earned that GM opportunity in New York.

    I love how players were like so laidback, just being themselves. Living in basic apartments. There was No social media, so no need to worry about trying to look fresh at all times. These guys wore regular everyday clothes, drove regular everyday cars not exotic sports cars!! Today these players come to training camp dressed in designer clothes, driving Lambos & Ferrari’s to flex . I really miss when all the players were just basic, living like everyday people.
