The 2007-2008 Cowboys core were basically a product of Parcell's 2003-2006 leadership & hard work & no nonsense mindset. The talent unfortunately didn't fully materialize until after he retired, and Dallas had all the talent in the world to accomplish big things, but lack of leadership did this team in bad. Player for player, they were just as talented as the Patriots in the late 2000's, but lack of discipline was the difference.

The 2006 team should have made it, they took a talented Seahawks team down to the wire IN SEATTLE and blew the FG although that Hawks team had nearly two minutes to get down the field and have one of the best kickers of 2006 win it. That 2006 team would have gone further if Romo had been the starter in camp they would have won the NFCE znd hosted that first game.

@@RScott413 I don't think they would've gone much farther. They would've had to go to Chicago & New Orleans, & if they got past all that, they go up against Peyton Manning. Hard to believe they could do all that when they couldn't even beat Detroit in WK 17 to win the East.

They were having a great season until Romo broke his throwing hand. Lost 2 games without Romo, Romo came back went 4-1. Took his cast off and his throwing was off and so they lost the last 2. Should have kept the cast on for the remainder of the season. To bad, a cowboys vs Cardinals would have been interesting in the playoffs, as cowboys lost to them by a blocked punt in overtime early in the season. Romo broke his throwing hand that first play in overtime, and cowboys stud punter broke his foot on that block in overtime.

Thats exactly what the NFL is. A good ol boy fraternity where coaches fail upwards based on the hype around them instead of what they can actually do. A gleaming example of this right now is Matt Nagy in Chicago. That guy has a team that even just a good coach could run the table with, but because he was Andy Reids coffee boy hes now paid a multi million dollar deal to go .500. It all stems back to the JOKE commissioner. Once you see how hes ruining the actual game of pro football but is adding to the various circus acts and poltical stunts around football you clearly see why football IS in a PR nosedive. Its time for a new commissioner. Goodell, his GARBAGE RULES COMMITTEE & BAND OF WOKE EXECUTIVES have around WAYYYYY TOO LONG.
