In other news, Scamacca has a Europa league trophy under his belt. I wish we could have kept him and seen how he could have developed under Lopetegui. I have kept on eye on him and he has been immense recently. Those that use the "well its only the Italian league" trope can't say the same for the Europa league. Imagine the strikeforce we could have had if we'd managed to integrate Haller and Scamacca.

I've seen a fair bit of Raoul Bellanova this season. Torino play a very defensive 3 at the back with Bellanova at right wingback. He is very quick and puts in a decent cross. He hasn't totally blown me away with his performances, but I'm not a professional scout for good reason. His teammate Allesandro Buongiorno (DCL) is someone I hope we have looked at, though...

Buying solid defenders isn't as sexy as buying flashy strikers, however we scored plenty last season and conceded loads. It's at the back we need to prioritise.

Geuhi is a Salthouse client and has a release clause... There will be competition but those two factors alone mean don't discount it. For Gk's along with Trott and Anang, Hegyi is now also old enough to be registered as a Home Grown player and has a contract next season. 1 of the 3 of them should be the 3rd choice GK. Lauriente is one of the quickest players in Europe. Played in a very poor team this season with Berardi injured. Great dribbler and attacking threat but does have to work on his passing and decision making. There is a reason teams like Spurs are interested though. Have a feeling with Cresswell and Zouma staying we might be looking at a 3 at the back system. Would be new for Lopetegui but with our CB's targets Bruno especially would mean 3 CB's fighting for the starting RCB and Cresswell and Zouma in a higher defensive line in a back 4 is very worrying!

Marc Guehi 50m?! Not seen a huge amount of him but taking a look at his stats on fbref and whoscored they are generally really poor, can appreciate stats can vary considerably depening on the teams style of play but nothing jumped out at me at all as being good. Bruno frabicio on the other hand stats look very impressive, looks like a bigger stronger more aggressive version of Aguerd. looked solid against england. Surprised we havent seen the links to, mandela keita, andre and forfana resurface yet considering soucek and jwp dont suit j-lo's style.

I do think those 3 we've been linked to have potential to be huge upgrades on him in and out of possession.

We are going through a rebuild and Cresswell knows the club very well and is a sound character. A good squad has balance, we don't need a red bull feeder club model we are bigger than that. Brighton have definitely mixed in some prem experience as well think welbeck and Milner. Zaha prem proven and a match winner, him and gassova would sort the lw position. Lopetegui is almost the opposite of Moyes he likes to control games by dominating possession where as Moyes would happily surrender it, he also uses his squad and will make subs early again the opposite of Moyes. I could go on.

@Al-nm3io with the likes of Fabianski and Antonio, we already have experienced club players we didn't need to add Cresswell to the list, especially as Cresswell offers very little nowadays. As for Zaha he's too old with no sell on value, will want a big wage and first team football, so we are going against what we set out to do even before Moyes came, so again it makes no sense. I could also go on and on.

@willdoyle6952 I was surprised myself that we offered Cress a new deal and would have loved us to go get a top LB, maybe that's for another window. Just got to trust in Steidten, Lopetegui and Noble on this one and hope there is a bigger plan in place maybe with ollie scarles in mind to get some exposure to the first team. Zaha again wouldn't be my first choice but I can see how he'd be useful as someone that is home grown, can hit the ground running and take some of the pressure off other signings im sure wed make in addition to him but it all depends on the price, as you say its likely quite high wages. All that being said the links to him have died down and the focus seems on CBs at first. It's early days but one of the massive differences from the past is we seem like we actually might do business early for a change,could make a huge difference.
