Finding Purpose with Stage Four Cancer

Hi there, it’s sometimes so difficult to motivate oneself to get out the front door and get a bit of exercise.
Can I blame it on the hormone therapy or just a kind of aperture that sometimes just appears.
The strange thing is once I get out the door I really enjoy walking, it’s good for me, it makes me feel more positive.
Cancer can often be so overwhelming especially in the mind, it feels sometimes like a giant weight I have to drag around.
So this video talks about how I’m trying to deal with this
Hope it helps❤️
Thank you for watching this video, I’ve been making these videos as a vlog sharing my journey through Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer.
My world literally fell apart on Sept 15th 2021 when I was diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer which according to my Oncologist is incurable (although ive never accepted that) Questions such as how long have I got left how bad is it , in fact, a whole host of frightening thoughts, where suddenly swarming around my mind and exploding at opportune moments when I felt most vulnerable.
If I were to be honest, I was lost and lonely to begin with. People don’t know how to deal with someone who has stage four cancer. It’s a taboo subject. I honestly didn’t know who to turn to for help. It can be a dark place and I only wish I could have found a channel such as this to help me through those early days.
I started writing a blog whilst I was in hospital and recovering at home after the initial treatment phase.
I then decided to make this vlog because it seemed a better way to get my story out there. I want to provide a channel where I would continue telling my story for as long as I can and invite comments from others that can also help and share their own experiences.
Cancer can be a lonely place, and I hope this channel will help someone else who may be a bit lost and feel alone whilst dealing with their own diagnosis and experience.
Nothing is ever as bad as you think it will be, and that seems to be the case so far with my experience with Prostate Cancer.
Thank you for watching the video. Please comment and subscribe if you feel like it, and please share the videos with anyone you think may find them helpful
Woody ❤️

I was on Zoladex for two years and had no real bad side effects. Now on a holiday.

For me it has been the ADT. After 2 years of Lupron and Xtandi (enzalutamide) I took a holiday 3 months ago. My testosterone is up to 88 (from 0) and I feel like I am coming out of a dark heavy fog. Motivation was non-existent -- now I'm getting it back. Marvelous. Alas, my PSA is running back up and my PSMA Pet scan revealed growth of the lesion on my 7th rib with significant uptake. Looks like I might have to go back on ADT. I'd like to stretch out the holiday a little so I can establish a rigorous exercise routine to see if I can make the routine last whilst back on ADT. I remain positive. Cheers friend! You're looking good!

Well, I have prostate cancer 18 years, so the development of this illness and cure is crystal clear to me.

@@dusanjez2011 Not just one prostate cancer but many types. It's difficult to extrapolate a "cure" beyond a single instance. Oh, and it morphs too. Can be done, true, but just saying.

You’re right. Thinking about doing the thing is the worst part. Doing the thing is mostly good! Hang in there. Keep fighting.

If psa keep rising, there is sooner or later time for chemotherapy (and other therapies help no more). It is not an easy decision, but what could be done else? It is only question if start with psa under 10, or maybe under 100, or maybe under 500... I had to start it after apalutamide stopped working...

Woody, it is very good that you will have radiation therapy and not chemo. Chemo takes much of body therapy which is bad.

Woody please don’t read or listen to the news . It’s not good for your psyche . You will be absorbing all that bad stuff. You need uplifting news and music plus nature . You are a great guy full of positivity . X

Woody, out of interest please ask your Oncologist why not a PSMA pet scan, this is far better than the CT scans we get, in America it would be PSMA pet scan, Western park Sheffield where I go for Oncology do have a PSMA pet scan but so far not for me, I have looked into having one private £2,500 in UK but also do need consultant referral, my PSA slight rise after 2 years on prostap , if there is a problem the psma pet scan would show exact problem areas the CT will not, why are they holding back on PSMA pet scans ? It is as though they prefer to work in the dark instead of turning the light on, Phil

Psma scans are not awailable everywhere, I also get only ct scans, which show in detail part of the body. They are useful with therapy strategy.

The radio-tracer for PSMA is currently very expensive to manufacture. Should go down over time.
