Final Fantasy 7 Remake (PS5) - Weiss (Hard Mode)

Ойындар

First time beating him. Figured out most of the fight in about 3 hours without looking things up. He's pretty tough. From what I understand, you need to always punish and overwhelm him to avoid Immaculate One from going off. Hard Mode is redundant to mention fyi, the fight is auto put on Hard Mode. Was considering marking this as spoilers, but honestly they fully revealed him in a trailer.
Overall, was a fun superboss to learn. Only thing that concerned me is the red attack phase felt impossible without Parry on, not sure if there are better ways to deal with it. I think they did some good design choices here though, such as making Cloud's Counterstance not as ridiculous as normal. Could help in Part 2 balancing. Also pretty sure Tifa would be way better here than Barret, but I baited myself into Aerith for magic phase regular hits and Barret for tanking.

That ending was kinda saucy ngl. Look at that Tag Team Limit. That's the stuff I dreamed of as a kid

i had this one time where i did Cloud’s Ascension and Tifa’s Dolphin Fury limit break to Jenova Dreamweaver, and the finishing blow was where they thrust themselves into the air. Nearly passed out from pure joy

This had to be one of the best fights yet and I can't wait for them to make more like this. I feel that the way he phase shifts is what every boss should do if they are gonna switch it up and not a cutscene tbh.

Square did a fantastic job with this boss! Can't wait to see what they cook up with part 2! Plan on doing a review of Intermission? (Weiss included)

I wish base FF7R had had some more humanoid bosses. I know not everything has to be Limit Cut, but many of the harder bosses (like Bahamut) felt... uninteractive? Like big balls of stats. That's rarely a problem with humanoid bosses. Man, I wish I had a PS5.

Bahamut is missing a proper weakness besides Tier 3 Magic stagger stunlocking, but actually dodging its moves is pretty fun IMO.

@@BeeboySR Oh hey. I guess that'a true for its physical attacks, but when it sets up the aura you're taking damage no matter what, and the Megaflare countdown means the fight is kind of a DPS race versus a giant HP sponge. Also the "why isn't Parry the base dodge functionality" problem. Maybe I'm coming off too negative, but I feel 7R's bosses are either really good or really boring or frustrating with little in between.

I'll pretty much defend the base dodge to the end of the earth; it's entirely functional, especially on the bosses that matter (Aeolian Onslaught on Sephiroth, Umbral Strikes on Bahamut to name a few). Since you already can't no damage most of the bosses without some cheese, the emphasis on positioning in fights and therefore the dodge roll being useful to that end and that end only is compelling IMO.

Parry, also known as the "make dodging work like it should tax". You can tell because he does a flip instead of a roll.

Fun fact, I know this is super late and everyone might know this by now, but Immaculate End is actually *not* fixed damage. A Barrier cast allows you to survive the attack, and it even has an entire other phase that only shows up if you live.

This fight was the first time I used Parry. Maybe I'm too used to base dodging, but it's super lenient timing to me. You just hold Guard and dodge before the attack connects.

Just use Tifa for phase 1 and Aerith on for phase 2. For healing, regular cure is enough. Phase 1: Start with Tifa and guard the initial sword combo for ATB then parry for distance. Focus Strike his unblockables with stab being the one you roll. Roll towards him. Keep doing this untill you stagger. Make sure to cast Haste and Fleeting Familiar at the start of the fight. Once staggered, don't push for damage, have Cloud cast a second Hase and Aerith launch a Tempest. Back up Aerith twice and cast lustrous Shield back up a bit more and cast Arcane Ward with a Thundaga follow Up. Then move Tifa then Cloud to the ward to cast more Thundaga's. Make sure you keep up the Thundaga spam to safely move a character to the ward. From there, keep spaming Thundaga from the whole party with Tempest's in between untill you get the second stagger. Once staggered, Parry slide to Weiss and finish him off by building the stagger percentage with Tifa and build down from Thundaga - just Thunder with Aerith and Cloud.

Thanks guys . I beat it . I just used parry to keep distance and every whiffed attack from Weiss gave him pressured status. Then I nuked him with magic . I had ragnorok on cloud so I used 4 limit breaks total and carbuncle was the back up for the 1 shot kill
