I have to focus on Weiss’ HP bar, the ATB bars which were enhanced by Haste to make sure they are still active or I am screwed and to make sure Tifa has her Unbridled Strength and keep it as Rise and Fall until it was time to use it on a staggered Weiss. This fight kept me on my toes.

When he stabs are you dodging toworrds him or are you using parry?

what is the song name when you play menu?

I tried doing it the way you did, but I kept messing up after the phase shift. If feels like luck is involved as well, He kept casting that damn blue ball and often it felt like I should have dodged some of his special attacks, but didn't, and Aerith being the right distance away. . I did it with with most of the same materia as you had for Cloud but swapped out first strike for barrier, put on the buster sword, and Gotterdammerung. When he was staggered, I knocked him down to 30% ish health and had Aerith in a good spot, doing what you did and I spammed thundaga, while using Cloud as a decoy, thus the barrier materia. It worked,. Not the Way I wanted to do it, but it worked.

CAN WE PLEASE GET A STAY IN ARCANE WARD COMMAND?!?!

I tried this method but it did not work. I did get damage mainly in the 2nd phase but I managed to win against Weiss in the end. Took me 2 days, finally succeeding on Father’s Day no less.

Magic boosting, Magnify + Haste to fill up the ATB bars faster, the "Ga" spells of Firaga and Thundaga especially which are double cast by Arcane Ward and Tifa's Rise and Fall and True Strike for the 1st and 2nd phase stagger. Reprieve (e.g. exclusive to weapons like Twin Saber, Purple Pain, etc.) is not really needed once we know the pattern in the 1st phase. It's the 2nd phase people should worry about most because if we take too long, his 3rd phase will come up but at times his 1st phase will come up instead and perform the Immaculate End. By that point it is best to reset or rechallenge and sacrifice another 700 Gil. I have no plans to ever take on FFVII Remake simulator Weiss again even if for fun. He takes a blow to my ego, brain cells and Gil.

A bartender who knows martial arts. A florist who is a Cetra and know powerful Magic because of her stats. An emo kid who got Mako in him and can do near impossible stunts while wielding a heavy to carry sword.

@@Raverjdog Gameplay and Story Segration as TV Tropes would say. Barret stares at those 59 flights of stairs and nearly cried as he was walking those stairs. But when the cutscene of them resting at the top ended, he could run up and down the stairs just fine like it was nothing.

It’s the Parry Materia. It is one of the most important Materia for this fight to be equipped for Tifa or else you are screwed. You can dodge faster too.

Someone please explain how to do the Parry/ roll across Weiss' back when he melee attacks. I've now seen both Cloud and Tifa do this WITHOUT parry materia equipped.

It's just a regular dodge (circle button only) that needs to be timed right before the enemy lands their attack.

I did that with Cloud as well. If you evade towards him when he's close enough, you will jump over them. Probably the only way to evade that "stab" attack.

Most likely not. But they might make a Dirge of Cerberus standalone Remake. The closest to that so far is in Ever Crisis. And you will never know if we will get a side story of Vincent before he meets and joins the party similar to how Yuffie was introduced.

So i still haven't gotten to play the remake, but I'm noticing in a lot of vids Tifa is the main controlled unit. Is it cuz she dishes out the most dmg when being directly played or something along those lines?

Can't say about the dmg because I'm a casual player, but I can tell you she is a LOT of fun to play. Has a lot of animation cancelling which makes her a very fast paced character

@@narubell Tifa is the Glass Cannon of the game, basically. She can absolutely DESTROY her opponents if played well, but she also dies pretty quickly if she keeps taking damage. You *must* work on her dodging game if you want to keep her alive.

Aside from the reason I love Tifa, I will tell you why. --- Cloud is a Lightning Bruiser and Jack-of-all-stats. A Lightning Bruiser because of how agile he was during his showdown with Sephiroth. Jack-of-all-stats because he is fast and strong but not as fast as Tifa who can pull off quick and powerful combos and has a much better maneuverability to avoid incoming attacks, yet he also hits harder per hit and outshines her when it comes to dealing raw damage against multiple enemies at once. He can take a decent amount of damage but not to the extent of Barret who has higher defense and HP to withstand a lot of punishment before going down. He can also deal a fair amount of magic damage but not as high as Aerith who possesses a very high Magic Attack. Tifa is a Glass Cannon and Fragile Speedster. As we know, cannons pack strong hits but because it is made of glass, it can easily crack. Fragile Speedster because Tifa by far (aside from Yuffie) is the fastest character we have and she is fragile because she takes hits hard. Aerith is a Glass Cannon and Squishy Wizard. Her magic is quite powerful but her defense is rather low and if using Magic with Arcane Ward, she can cast powerful "Ga" spells twice, the 2nd one for free. Barret is a Mighty Glacier. He is quite slow due to his literal Firearm because of that incident back in North Corel but in turn has the rapid firing ammo which fills his ATB bars fast, high HP and powerful shots. Also, if chosen to make him melee, while he is slow, he hits hard like a Juggernaut if Steelskin is applied. --- Conclusion: Depending on who we go up against, Tifa is usually the Battlefield Leader.

Is that flip over Weiss part of Tifa's parry or no?

Never spent a lot of time as Tifa, didn't know she could do a flip on people... Wait... Is that a thing I've done, could cloud do it? I kinda remember it now, but I could be having a false memory.

That was sick, But still I don't get it, now that's possible to have 3x gotterdammerung but no use for them, no very hard mode or extra hard missions to use them 😂 Even Weiss mission the accessory don't work.

Gotta have Vincent at some point to give some payback considering Weiss has no access to Omega's power right now. Also, I think Weiss his blades got shorter compared to those in Dirge of Cerberus, so he has less range now.

To compensate for range, his 2nd phase has range and his 3rd phase technically counts as range due to his 3rd shift's great speed as he heals. Also, Vincent has not yet met Weiss and the like until 3 years later in the original timeline. But this timeline? Only Cloud, Tifa, Barret and Aerith met his simulator form whereas Yuffie and Sonon met Nero. Vincent is the "chosen one" to end their lives. Who knows? We just might meet the real Weiss and Nero again but with Vincent this time and Yuffie wanting payback on Nero. I can see that happening. If Dirge of Cerberus gets a Remake, I won't be surprised especially if Yuffie were to get revenge on Nero in said Dirge of Cerberus Remake. The beauty of Remakes. A bit off topic but Yuffie not knowing about Nero in Dirge of Cerberus is kind of the same as Donald Duck not knowing Yen Sid living in the Mysterious Tower due to when the games were produced as Birth By Sleep took place before KH1 where we can see Donald and Goofy.

Literally just press dodge into him at the last second. Only Tifa and Cloud can do it tho and they need no special materia equipped. I’d recommend taking a few practice rounds against him just learning how to dodge his moves and not taking the fight serious to get used to the timing

It’s hitting the parry at the right time! If you slide to him when he stabs tifa jumps over him! It’s a very close window and I have died so many times 😩

To bad Square just reused "Fight Tune 'The Immaculate'" from Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII Original Soundtrack for the fight with Weiss. I would have enjoyed hearing a newly arranged version of this battle theme from it's original composer, Masashi Hamauzu.

All soundtracks that accompanied FFVII Remake contained either original compositions or new arrangements of Uematsu's works from the 1997 game by composers such as Shotaro Shima, Yoshitaka Suzuki, Yoshinori Nakamura, to name a few. I would expect Square to continue that with the Intergrade OST.

-cool swords -white hair -nice coat -edgy -hard boss at a casual level but gets bullied post-game on the regular yep, weiss is the vergil of ff7r

But now you gotta ask the question is it even fun playing like that "hit and run" Imo its more rewarding to find out the rhythemn and master the conbat of the specific fight. But ayy to each its own

Except that aside from hit and run similar to Kingdom Hearts games and FFXV, this one also involves rhythm (i.e. finding out the attack patterns especially during the 1st phase) in order to master the combat. Like what Nathan Bustamante said. Have you tried the fight yourself? For me, it is not fun but it was doable for me, defeating Weiss on Father's Day.

Its cannon status depending on whether next installment acknowledged Chadley as threat or not; This base Weiss likely on par with base Weiss in Dirge. However mind that in Dirge, Weiss achieved such strength through data input of every Tsviets. Timeline-wise, FF7R Weiss shouldn't have Azul and Shelke complete data yet as Shelke join Deepground by Advent Children while Azul transformation still on experimental phase but Chadley managed to covers it (Weiss cannot be damaged if unless he's staggered, similar as DoC before Vincent acquire Chaos). So if it continues, FF7R Weiss likely stronger than DoC Weiss.
