For those who didnt do the math thats 268 days which works out to *6,432* hours. Insane. But then again ff14 is the best mmo and one of the best games I have ever played. ff16 looks absolutely breathtaking. and brings me back to shadow of the colossus and old school god of war.

I want to shoutout Theaterhythm Final Bar Line. I love the music in FF, and this new entry in the series is amazing.

I love the Theaterhythm series so much!!!! And Final Bar Line is pretty good. Only thing I want now is for them to expand the series and make some for other franchises. Like make a Zelda or Metroid or overall Nintendo edition. Make one for Playstation etc. But space them out.

I'm literally playing Final Bar Line right now. I got the platinum for it just a few days after release, but after watching this episode, I had to go back for a bit. Amazing game!

The new game is so good! I love rhythm games, and after playing Theatrhythm for a couple days straight, I’ve gone back to finish FF7 Remake, and I’m inclined to go back to FFXV as well. Honestly feels like it’s Smash Bros Ultimate-tier in terms of how much content there is in the game, and how it loves and respects the series.

I want to point out that I love Yoshi-P efforts to have people be overwhelmingly excited for 16 and that excitement carry on to an eventual 17. That is why he want to evolve the series and the JRPG genre, so both are not beholden by a fix preconceived notions or elements (such as the turn based combat). A little bit of context: The original Final Fantasy was basically an adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons, using almost the exact same combat as D&D, which became a staple of FF. Having a party with an ensemble cast with different classes, abilities and backstories is not something unlike the parties of D&D either. So after experimenting with many titles and making risk with every and each one of them, Yoshi-P and his team are making an RPG like nothing before has happen in the history of the franchise. I think Yoshi-P has the right idea if he’s the one to bring FF to the mainstream again like it was in 80’s through the early 00’s. Because at the end of the day Final Fantasy has and it always have been, an IP that reinvents itself each game.

I watched all the clips of FFXVI gameplay. The voice acting is on another level compared to other FF games (outside of FF14). It's absolutely incredibly and the characters are actually way more relatable than usual.

Incredible Gamescast! I am even more hype for FF16 now thanks to Michael's preview. Love all the love for Hi-Fi Rush and Metroid Prime Remastered, two amazing surprises that set the year on a good track. Especially Metroid Prime Remastered, letting me experience the best game of all time and that there ever will be in quality even higher than its already incredible quality. Even if there were no more games this year, I'm set!

I drop in and out of FFXIV. I love it though. Last year, I went on a journey with Final Fantasy and played FFIV through VI. I’m now a big FF fan, and VI is one of my favorite games of all time. My birthday is in a couple days, and I’m going to start Chrono Trigger for the first time.

I also wanted to comment another thing regarding the "JRPG term controversy", I found an interesting take on Maximillian Dood's reaction video: "About the JRPG thing, I have a bit of a unique perspective I'd like to share. I lived 8 years in Japan. Went over there to try and break into the industry... actually did it for a couple of years and worked at a very well-known company for a couple of years (not Square Enix). Anyway, I think the term JRPG was taken as offensive for Japanese developers for a number of reasons. It's not as simple as the negative connotations that sprung up at around the same time as FFXIII, though that's obviously a big part of it. What happens is that, for the longest time (and even today), they've used the term "youge" as a derogative for western games. They didn't even consider them "games" proper (see, "videogames", according to them, were "a Japanese thing" -- and I'm quoting Hideo Kojima here.) I was actually shocked at how disdainful the term "youge" actually was when I went there. Well, right at the time FFXIII came out, the Japanese game industry was declining rapidly in terms of market share. They needed to sell games in the west to survive, but they weren't doing it well. Today, the Japanese game industry is a cell-phone gacha fest, a shadow of its former self. Western developers were putting out console games, good ones, and selling gang-busters. And now Japanese developers were like "how are we supposed to compete with this? It's not fair! We don't have the budget, we don't have the sales!" And it's against this backdrop that the term JRPG began to be used. Regardless of the negative connotations it had over here, over there it was much worse, because 1) they were losing literally 90% of the market, 2) they'd always thought of themselves as making RPGs and 3) they had the term "youge" as an analog. So they automatically assumed that JRPG was as bad as "youge", and, especially as you're losing almost all of your market, that's gotta sting. What I think is that the term was being used negatively by some people at the start, but not all of them, and certainly it's become purely descriptive nowadays. But in Japan they resented the rebranding of the genre, and assumed it was like when they rebranded western games as "youge". The Japanese game industry narrative is this: "RPGs" were not intuitive and could not be enjoyed by a mainstream audience until the Great Yuji Horii came and made Dragon Quest; and they were a hit in Japan but not in the West, because the games were, in FF creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's words, too "complex" for Western audiences (nevermind that the genre originated in the West - but prejudice is never rational). However, thanks to the cutting-edge graphics pioneered by Final Fantasy, they started selling in the West, too. "Final Fantasy" is the big Japanese RPG franchise that sells in the West, too. Anyway, Yoshi P in particular has to have taken the JRPG classification personally, as he was one of the few Japanese gamers who actually did appreciate Western games. He played the original Ultima Online! He played Everquest! So for him to hear that term, and having "youge" as a point of reference, it must have really been awful. Its...complicated... Japanese society as a whole has both disdain and admiration -both superiority and inferiority complexes- with regards to the West. I would have trouble understanding it if I did not have very specific point of reference myself. Well, here's hoping someone takes the trouble to read this post, and that it helps shed some light on the issue."

FF16 looks amazing. With that said, there's way too many games I'm looking forward to releasing this year for this to be my most anticipated for this year. This year is STACKED.

Michael is a breath of fresh air, very eloquent recounting his time with the game and charismatic while he does it. Would love to see him more when he’s less busy!

I feel insane when the guys talk about Hi-Fi Rush. I really cannot get into the game and once the introduced the parry I was DONE. Awful.

The battle system over the last few FF have really put me off the game. It’s really interesting how they’ve flipped the image of the brand over the past few years from turn based to this

The combat looked insane at the start but once Michael started talking about railshooter panzer dragoon style cut-ups as well as tons of QTE's while you're super sized, I just got flashbacks of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm which as much as I love I would expect better quality from a mainline FF.....

I was excited for ff16 before this preview, now I'm happy I didn't preorder, gonna wait for a demo or something.

I just really REALLY hope they didn't blow so much budget on this fantastic combat, and the story ends up being incomplete or lackluster like FFXV was...

The dialogue and voice acting in the trailers felt super stiff to me, im kinda shocked Higham said English was prioritised. I always dig the FF stories so I think it will hit here for me too, but im worried about the delivery, especially after how good FF7R was in that regard

When Square say that they want to give Final Fantasy "broader appeal" what they really mean is that they want to use the Final Fantasy name to sell an action game. As someone who has loved the series since the 1990's it makes me quite sad to see it.

Yall are crazy for those Hi-Fi RUSH takes. That's the easiest 10/10 I've played since Persona 5. No "moments"??? Really?! Unlocking parry, the cutscene before the "train" ride, Korsica's chapter, THE MUSEUM, THE CAFETERIA. I don't see how they capture the magic again in a sequel tbh, and eff your shitty "bad platforming" takes. This is GOTY until proven otherwise.
