Filling Body Post Holes In Lexan RC Bodies
Ойын-сауық
In this video I fill some old body post holes in a Polycarbonate (Lexan) body. It doesn't turn out invisible of course but I think it's acceptable. This was my first attempt, it's by no means perfect but it may give you some ideas on filling holes. I'm sure it could be done even neater with practice!
Thanks for watching.

Interesting watch and a great job on those holes, mate! The front looks sweet, but fixing a hole in a window is a nightmare! You did bloody good mate! :))

It is always very complicated to plug the holes on this kind of bodywork, your tip is the only one that I have seen that is correct, excellent job.

My method is wierd, but functional. I put a piece of 3M gel tape on underside and pushed in so it forms a bump on outside. I then put vinyl carbon fiber wrap or a printed sticker of my doings, then pushed bump in gently till it's smooth and even.I then velcro mounted body, and I still have the RC drift car. It's in my channel playlist, check it out.
Not bad.
Great follow up video to the karmann ghia. Great job. Helpful hints as always. Well done👍

Great little tips/advice - wanted to do the same thing to 3 of my drift rc bodies that I cut holes in and now have learnt about magnetic mounts. Thank you!

Thank you very much! 👍
I just filled the holes on the Tamiya VW bug. I used uv light curing resin for jewelry. Maybe not the perfect solution either but seemed to work well.

Nothing wrong with that job , another great tip. Better invest in some shoe goo . Have you tried Prepsol , wax and grease remover on poly carbonate body's. Will remove tape residue but shouldn't be as harsh as acetone or thinners. Won't damage paint or plastics. Great video and good way to fill holes .

Thanks mate. Prepsol! Why didn't I think of that? lol. Although it's not something I have handy these days, I think I will get some for times like this! 👍
Great work mate, thanks for sharing. I'll use your techniques to fix a body shell. Who are these people that gave you a thumbs down. 🙄

Thanks mate! Good to know you found the video helpful, I'm sure with some practice the filled holes could turn out much cleaner looking than mine did. Haha yeah, those thumbs (smh). One of them is doing it to a lot of my recent videos not long after I upload each video, I guess my videos upset them somehow 🤷♂️. Thanks for your support mate! 🙂👍
Love your channel and just stumbled across this one and always wanted to see how someone might do this.

Thanks! This is one way to do it. I think with more practice and tweaks, the results could be even better. 👍
Thanks for this helpful information. I gave it a shot and I'm curious to see how the filled holes will look after painting.
Two part Clear Epoxy works best for me
Nice job mate 👌 I was thinking of how to fill some body holes after your last vid on the magnet mounts, I want to do the same on some bodies, thanks for sharing your ideas 👍 I couldn't find shoo Goo in Oz but managed to get Selleys Shoe Fix from the hardware, I wonder if it would dry clearer than shoo Goo?👍🦘🇦🇺

Thanks mate. Yeah Shoe Goo is hard to find in OZ, I got mine from eBay. I should have elaborated, Shoe Goo is very clear when you first put it down but it seems to loose it's clarity if you play with it (like I did) after it's applied. Since it's so thick and starts drying quickly it's kinda hard not to play with it to get it right. I'd say the Selleys Shoe Fix would be very similar, give it a go for sure! I saw your other comment about the thumbs down but YT seems to be hiding it now, so I couldn't reply. Yeah I dunno what that's about. I think you maybe right though, I also think it's coming from another channel. I really can't see a viewer wasting there time going to each video just to give a thumb down. Oh well, whatever makes them feel like a big man. 🤣👍
