Tamiya HKS Nissan Skyline GT-R Gr.A | Hidden Body Mounts

Ойын-сауық

Tamiya HKS Nissan Skyline GT-R Gr.A | Hidden Body Mounts.
In this video I install magnetic body mounts on the Skyline body. I made my own adapters for the mounts so they could be positioned where I want them.
Thanks for watching.

    I would either tape the magnets on the outside of the car as it sits on the chassis, or mark the top of the magnets first so you don't accidentally get the polarity backwards. I've done that before and it's no fun. :)

  • @RCHobbyShed

    @RCHobbyShed

    3 жыл бұрын

    You are right, Mark. It would have been a better idea to tape the outside magnets on while the body sat on the chassis. The only reason I didn't was because I'd literally only just painted the body and didn't want the magnets to put a lot of pressures on the fresh paint...I guess I could have waited longer 🤔🤷‍♂️🤣

    Thanks mate. Oh yeah, you don't realize how prominent the body mounts are until you see a car without them. I don't do this with all my cars of course, but for some you just have too. It really does make a huge difference to the overall look. Cheers mate! 👍

    Top work Mick, car looks great even without the decals . I getting hooked on these kits ,the little Losi is enjoyable to build but Tamiya has more detailed instructions., the wife bought a used Kyosho dbx ve2 buggy . She sold some jellery to get it ha, ha , unbelievable couldn't wait till payday. Worse than me , good weather will here soon and will be great fun racing these beasts , The decals look hard to put on. Will be a nice car, looking great

    Thanks Peter. I thinking it doesn't need decals, but I'll do it anyway to make it box art. The Tamiya instructions are probably the best you'll find for details. Nice, those dbx's are a beast from what I've seen of them! Lol you'll have to buy your miss's an RC keyring or something, maybe a set of diamond Kyosho earrings, so she doesn't run out of jewellery. You and your wife must have a kickarse RC collection by now! 👍

    Good to know they're holding a hard body down. I've had to order the red paint for the mirrors, so that allowed me to put off the decals a little longer 🤣. Should have it done next week. 🙂👍

    @RCHobbyShed

    Thanks mate. The magnets are quite strong. I can pick the car up by the body (not that I recommend it lol), but if you pick it up by the body and give it a shake it will come loose. They're fine for holding Lexan bodies, but not strong enough to hold hard bodies on. 🙂👍

    @@kingswood2260 Good stuff, Gavin. I recently ran this car at a track. The magnets saved the body a few times as it just pops off if I hit the barriers. I was pretty happy with that. Thanks mate, glad you enjoy the videos! 👍

    Pretty neat body mounts there, I'd imagine putting all the decals on will be a bit of a pain though heh. If you can id give it a try adding a mm or two width via spacers on the hex adapters just too push the wheels out slightly more so it fills in there, maybe order adjustable upper arms too add a few degrees of camber so it tucks under the body a bit better.

  • @RCHobbyShed

    Thanks Marcus. Oh yeah, not looking forward to those decals at all!😂. I agree, it needs some more tuck. I plan to do some upgrades in the future, will be going for adjustable upper arms for sure. 🙂👍
