The beacon has to be dropped high, as it gradually floats to the ground, and when it touches the ground it disappears. The higher you drop the beacon, the longer it stays active. Players who use the beacon will spawn in parachutes. The problem with this device is that most players won't select the beacon because it appears offset from it's actual position on the spawn screen. If you drop over the airfield on C of Wake Island, the beacon will appear as if it's way off in the water. If the spawn screen was a 100% vertical view, it would appear correctly, but the perspective is set an an angle.

Against fighters, yes they are. But the spitfire that has rockets is very effective if you get the drop on other aircraft as will as being good against vehicles and infantry. Really hope the next Battlefield doesn’t have faction bias regarding vehicles. Because having one faction that has aircraft that turn faster and are more maneuverable just ruins the balance imo.

This guy has luck that he doesn't get blown up by 40 mm AA every time he flyes up even a meter

AA’s generally don’t bother me as much, because once you get to a certain skill ceiling you can easily avoid and counter them. They only really bother me when they intervene with dog fights. Nothing is more annoying then when you have to forfeit a dog fight with another pilot because an AA starts shooting you. And there are some pilots that will bully your team but as soon as you hop into a plane to shoot them down they will cower to the AA’s in their spawn rather then accept a fair dog fight with you.

Great choices, but the 6x rockets on the P51D are not bad at all, definitely give em try. They fire 3 at a time, and theres a slight delay between times you can fire all 6 but they really do hit hard. And I really can't be the only one that remembers the Spitfire VB being able to one pass a tiger tank with the 4x rockets

Ya the spitfire was bugged at that time, it wasn't a buff.

Just recently got back into BF5 since the pacific DLC came out. Great videos, I hope you keep making more!

G6 still reigns supreme, just so much better than the other fighters it's unreal how unbalanced it is. Odd to see you don't run maneuverability perk with the 51D though , the mustang fighters handle like stukas, figured you'd want to make it seem less like flying a boat

Hmm I've always used the 8x for pacific planes and usually do pretty well against land vehicles as well as them being better for air to air but I'll have to give the 2x a go now

Idk if you'll see this being the video is a few weeks back but the flares are still good on pacific bomb fighters. They work best doing a scouting pass at mid altitude and provide decent coverage of the area. The high altitude perk for these planes also helps mitigate the issues with having to dive bomb because most of the time people are not looking for a plane to be dropping down from the higher altitude ceiling and it gives you a lot more time to correct the angle of attack and line up the drop. The spawn beacons, though I usually run it on the BF-109, are hilarious. You need to climb to the altitude ceiling and I drop them back behind enemy lines. It will drift as it falls so I always re drop it after every resupply. It stays up longer if you use high altitude to drop it from the higher ceiling but it's less reliable as the drift as it falls moves it to places that are not always ideal. The longer the fall the more it can drift. I've had success with my team using them quite a bit and it's funny to see the chat devolve into accusations of cheating since it's so rarely used that people don't even know it's a thing in the game. They always think a spawn beacon was bugged or people are hacking to fall into the game.

This is great stuff. I personally found the 8x rockets were ultimately more useful than the glide bomber in terms of consistency and utility. Now I see the 2x rockets hit just as hard!

Play Solomon Islands lol only joking what azura said also for me it's mostly just the zeros that threaten me in a tank so I leave the lvt with the twin 50 cal load out they're not as good as the British of German aa tanks but they are still effective especially up close and usually teach the zeros to leave you alone

Tip, if your on controller use the fonned barrels as it's a bit harder to aim on controller and you may need to spray

I would highly suggest running the 6x M8 rockets of the p51d, they can easily kill a group of enemy and do good damage to tank

just my opinion, I love the ground variant Zero the most with 4 light machine guns, 800lbs bomb and the AT mines load out. It is so fun to use since its versatile enough to kill both planes and ground target. but it wasnt that effective for hunting infantries. but with this load out, scoring high vehicle kills can be done so easily. but in the western front, its a no brainer, BF109 is the best one.

the spotting scope is good because it shows the tanks health i noticed, or am i mistaken on that? the quicker resupply seemed absolutely pointless unless theres maybe a enemy in your spawn or something , the difference in time was negligible

I do like the 8X rockets.... but I'm willing to give the 2X a try. Configured my planes and I'll see how it works myself :)

You can also shoot armored cars with your machine gun in bf 109 plane (1 bullet =1 damage)

Two rockets can’t effectively defeat 2+ AA s. When I play planes in some maps like hamada or panzerstorm, there will be at least 1 AA tank and 1 stationary AA in the opposite side. 2 rockets is not as accurate as 8 rockets. For example, I can use p51D shot rockets from objective A to F. I can deal about 40~60 damage on that AA tank in F but bf109 with two rockets usually can’t.

P70 with 12 M8 rockets is the true ultimate killing everything machine, even G6 can’t do anything to you as long as you know what you r doing.

My favorite plane was the Junkers carpet bomber until they nerfed it. Than it was the mine laying Zero until they nerfed that too. Now enjoying the Mosquito the most with the anti-tank cannon and the big bomb. Insane against everything. Actually the M8 rockets are also really cool. About overbuffed AA I have been writing to EA forum for months with everyone agreeing and no change. Shame really.

How come when a fighter gets behind me they rip me all to shit with like 30 rounds but when I get behind one I have to put 300 rounds in them just to have them quick repair then another 200 rounds I'm out and they just rip me open with 30 I'm honestly not even exaggerating

Honestly I hate flying the pacific especially Iwo Jima because 1 aa gun can reach accross the whole map IMO the fliegerfaust (have no clue how to spell it) should be a battle pickup but at the end of the day you can still go good in a plane I went 120-5 of fjell with the mosquito with the 3000lb bomb and the tank cannon

I think they do 70 damage if both hit. I kill a ton of tanks with them because I usually spot them when they fire or use smoke, indicating they are damaged fighting another vehicle.

G2 is not good, VA is okay but you need to catch the BF 109 off guard and the night fighter is also pretty good but it is a little helpless against fighters

One thing you may find that differs from the 8x and the 2x is that the 8x has a convergence point, making them greater at a range plus slightly easier to aim. As you stated, the 2x can be fired quickly. Which plane aa balance was better than this cause fuck it sucks.

Oh damn I dont know how I missed that I usually go with the left rockets on that mustang. They are kind of a mix. Very powerful against tanks and most of the time will 1 straff but at the same time you get 6 rockets with insane splash against infantry that you could spray without really needing to be accurate. And they can 1 shot any plane

Im amazed that noone is talking about hov bad, rocket spammer fighters are for the game. 1 decent pilot in it will wreck a server. 500m+ range on rockets, its futer than you can spot with a spotting scope. Games not designed for it. Well aa shots further than 800m so, that is messed up too Insta kill evrything exept heavy tank, and you reaload rockets faster than tanks can repair. So you have a, sniper it the sky. Can more or less instakill enything. It outranges you. An can always get line of sight on you. Have almost no matches with rocketspammers sinse this fail patch droped. Not fair. Is somewhat efficien at killing hackers though. Azura why are flares on planes useless? They are less efective after last patch but they are still borderline OP or still OP. flare an entire flag zone for like 2 min cotinuesly is pretty massive.

Flying a plane on the PS5 is absolutely trash for some reason on my PS4 pro doesn't.

P51-D is a joke. Even is BF109 doesnt use high altitude it can fly higher then P51.

Honestly, I don't think the planes in BFV have big impact on the battlefield. Yes you can distroy a tank or kill infantry here and there. But at the end of a round it's not the pilots decided over the win or loss of the match. In my exierience it feels rather random if you die from a plane and most of the time you will get revived anyways. So it feels more like the planes are just there to fight among them self and to be annoying for the ground forces.

It depends on who the pilots are and how effective they are able to create enough chaos to prevent a good offense. Surely planes are not physically capping flags but they create openings for ground units to attack/defend.
