Fiberglass Fender Install | 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner
First and Formost I want to say that I am not a professional fiberglasser. This was the first time I have ever attempted to put Fiberglass fenders onto a vehicle. Now, that said... It was very difficult.
This install took a long time, nearly 3 days of full work for Brenan (Trail4r) and I. We did take our time, only making small tweaks as not to mess the fenders up.
There is almost no information/blogs/videos on how to do any of this, so I am leaving this video long. Hopefully, it helps people in the future.
Big Thanks to Trail4r for supplying the Truck and thanks to ADV for the fiberglass Fenders

Not many videos out there on these fiberglass fender flares. Thank you for taking the time to install and document your process!
Awesome idea, but I can’t think of any body shop that isn’t going to screw this up
As a 5th gen owner, I would have to pass.
Thanks for the video. Now I know why my body shop took so long to install these on my 4Runner. I had the AFC fenders installed on my 2018 TRD Offroad. When the dust settled, ended up costing $2500. The fenders with shipping were $1000, had to rent a car for 10 days and the body shop cost was $1000 for get them to fit and paint match. I am happy with the final result, able to run larger tires (37X12.5X17).
That 4Runner looks so good!!!!!!!
Those look sick dude. I never thought of putting trophy truck style fenders on my 4Runner but I'm coming around to it...
I hated drilling all the holes on my fiberglass fenders! Result was worth it though, my old fenders where very rotten. But not 100% satisfied with fiberglass either, same weird gaps and problems, but that's on a 89, so its definitely tolerable! Haha
You guys make the best videos. Do you know if AFC has improved their flared fenders since you made the 2019 video. I have a 2018 Ted off road

Great attention to detail! Newbie question here, is there long travel suspension kit for 5th gen 4runner rear suspension?
Has there been any updated molding compared to the one you got? Or they still making them exactly like this?
I feel like you need to do a c4 fab bumper if you go this route.. That OEM bumper cover just doesn't do it when you move over to the wide fenders.
Can you post a clearer pic of how your fender lines up to your pillar? Like a straight front shot without the led light blocking the view?
Do they match well on a white 4runner like yours? Did they come white?
Great idea but that looks terrible. Not you guys fault tho. Hopefully the part makers tweak it up for a better fit. Great video none the less guys. 🤙🏽
These are cool but I feel like the wide front body looks disproportionate to the now narrow rear fenders. Would be cool if they did something similar for the back
What are you going to do about the rear quarters?
So it’s 4 years later, does anyone know if the fitting has improved from ADV for these flares?
reminds me of the fitment from those old body kits in high school (circa '99) that were just bad in terms of looks and fitment. OEM looks better.
Did you end up adding bigger tires?
