Fever Dreams: A Journey Through Fairyland
Hello all, here's my take on the hero's journey. I did a short film thing for my final university project. I hope to leave you disturbed and delighted, but I'm fine with just disturbed.

The heartwarming clip at the end really takes your mind off the huge existential crisis the rest of the video was.

Crisis? Maybe I am more twisted than I thought. Having those thoughts in words was a sort of comfort that I found beautiful. But, that end clip was funny.
10/10 would buy any audio book read by you. Also, please gift this world with your own book.

Agreed. Galatea, your narration is a feast for the ears - and very sexy if I may say so. ;-) I hope that you are able to create more delights like this. Also, the addition of your brother's voice, which so wonderfully complements your own, further enhances this enchanting literary artwork.
This is new and unexpected, but a welcome surprise
My goodness, please be the narrator of my book when it's published! xD
Not immediately sure what this is but thank you for it, Galatea.
This video is absolutely spellbinding, particularly in the aftermath of reading "Man And His Symbols" by C.G Jung. Very, *very* well done. Maybe the most perplexing aspect of this branch of literature is feeling as if you aren't so much learning as you are remembering what was lost in the very earliest stages of consciousness.
I love this, the narration, and your voice ♥
Just listened to this for the thirtieth or so time. I come back to this whenever I want something calm yet eerie to listen to. Your voice is excellent. Thank you for posting this video.
Our queen Galatea has posted! I'm so happy to hear from you again. :)

This was fantastic! All the elements really clicked together perfectly. We really need more dreamscape storytellers nowadays. If you ever narrate an audio book, let us know. You have a great style for it. And your artwork is very cool, too. Kind of reminded me a bit of that London Grammar music video. It also tickles those dark places in my imagination I like to visit with my artwork. More please!
I know I won’t be able to properly impress this upon you, but this came at a time in my life when I needed to hear it most. The timing is almost too precise, and the content and framing is too specific, in so many ways. I appreciate all the circumstances in your life and the experiences you’ve had, that led you to produce this lovely, absolutely gorgeous amalgamation of your talents and ideas. Woof, like you don’t even know. I love your stuff, I appreciate your style, and tell your brother thanks for working so hard! It payed off. His delivery is 👌🏼🤘🏼✨ stellar. Best wishes to you both ✨💖🙏🏼✨

Spicy Black thank you so much, it’s really amazing to hear that this video came at just the right time for you. I’m glad you got something from it! Best of luck with everything you’re dealing with right now, I hope it all goes well. Stay brave and happy! Xx
This is one of the only times I’ve ever heard narration fit the prose style so well, and the creepiness allows the weird philosophical-ish stuff to be really engaging, I fucking love this!
Nice artwork. I love aesthetics in art and yours was really well done. Also very foreboding with the creepier ones.
Wow this is unnerving but also really beautiful. Great work, and good luck to your brother on his A-Levels!
I loved your take on the hero's journey! And the description of fairyland was amazing, haunting and true to what people actually used to belive about it. What a wonderfull video.
You should be an audiobook narrator. This was such and incredible video. I was on a complete journey. It was creepy, interesting, beautiful but dangerous. Wow.
Ha, love the whole thing. Please never stop creating.
This was so captivating and beautiful. I truly felt like I was crossing into another world. Great work!
This was amazing, from the sets to the lighting to the script... just everything. It was so eerie I got chills but at the same time I wanted to keep listening and find out how the stories continue. You and your brother's narration just splendid and if either of you ever decide to narrate other fairy tales like Brothers Grimm, my broke ass will still scrounge up some money and buy it
This is absolutely incredible.
This seems quite reminiscent of the Tarot - which I personally love to think about when writing. This is amazing though, and I would love to hear you talk more about the structure of storytelling!
I was absolutelt not expecting this journey, great job
im just taking this like a relaxing storytelling asmr from you to be honest! x'D AND I LOVE IT
Wow. This was truly beautiful. Growing up in British Columbia, I’m no stranger to forests, and this imagery really brought me back to my childhood adventures of searching for fairies and goblins among the moss and fungi. You really captured the terrible intrigue of stepping through the woods as a child and tricking yourself into believing that you had somehow entered into the fairy realm. Anyway, that’s just the feeling I got. Keep up the good work :)
I just want to say I really appreciate the design and illustration here (the gate at 4:38 and forest at 6:59 were particularly striking). The transition at 8:30! Really, just gorgeous work all through it. But the moment that particularly stands out to me was “Look, she’s making an illusion for you right now.” Oh, that was a striking toying with the fourth wall, and using it to make your point, combined with the physical craft of the scene. There are so many striking lines. “Here’s a riddle. How far can you fall down a rabbit hole?” Now that’s a line after my own heart. The script is genuinely wonderful. For a piece of criticism and commentary on the hero’s journey, it’s also a lovely fairy tale in its own right. And I am very hard to please with fairy tales. Really, this is quite a treat for a late night. This is exactly what I needed for a late night of work beside the fire. Thank you!

James Bojaciuk thank you so much 😊
Beautiful. I know it's a lot of work, but do please consider doing more of these.
I found this oddly calming, and really interesting. Thanks for posting it!
Oh wow! Are the clips around 4:25 a hand made set you're lighting in real life and taking stills of?? Its beautiful and must have taken ages. Damn girl, you're talented as hell. You should be so proud of yourself! This is a huge accomplishment!! You've got a gift! I think you've found your calling. This was magical, literally and figuratively.😉
Listening to this as I drift off to sleep.
This is so awesome! I absolutely love it.
Oh, this was super unexpected and awesome! Lovely to recognize your artwork from your Instagram :)
I love your book reviews but I never would have imaged that you were so talented as a writer and narrator. I hope you do more like this in the future.
This is like a guided meditation, also love the tarot reference
This is exactly what I thought about the heroes journey. For me it is the way all life, all evolution all growth is happening. You say so much of what I feel as well.
Like the spider/sorceress's lair lots. This was great. You're really good at creating a atmosphere
You have such a lovely voice!
This is beautiful, thank you
This was so well done, and such a welcome trip to have on a lazy day. It's gotten me off my arse. Thank you Galatea!
Wow, this was a random treat. You and your brother did a very good job, thank you.
this feels very pertinent for me in a personal way, even though that wasn't the intention. this was very well done.
Your art is amazing. Thank you for sharing it with us and for the book recommendation. Also thank you to your bro, hope his exams go well.
Was not expecting this but was so pleasantly surprised. I had chills at some points.
A fascinating story, & an excellent narration. Hope there's more to this story.
Strange and wonderful!! I love it! 😊
I. Am. Speechless. I don't know if I can ever write another story again, knowing that whatever I write will never be as good as this. XD lol
This was amazing, I hope you scored well on this project.
Not disturbing, but beautiful. I loved the video and clicked immediately despite having no idea what to expect. Everything was beautifully done. The way you said each word was well enunciated and had really good tone. Your video on Gollem had me crying a bucket but this video just had me listening quietly almost entranced. I feel like everyone is on a hero's journey in their lives. We all have to 'die' to achieve our true potential. The person you are is a constant journey of amending toxic behaviours and doing the best to find the kind of person you want to be remembered as. This video was interesting because it has me wondering what part of my journey I'm at, and if that even matters at all. I'm sure I'll 'die' many more times in my life before I ever reach my final stage. And I don't think there is a final stage until the curtain closes. And who knows what comes after death if anything at all. Beautifully done thought provoking video. I hope you're doing well and am very grateful and thankful that you shared such a thought provoking yet amazingly scripted video. I 100% adore the story-like delivery of thoughts and information rather than a normal video just hashing it out. (Though I really love those too. Honestly everything you produce always has so much thought put into it so I click even if I have no idea what you're talking about. I always know by the end.)
Another recommendation: Campbell has some video series, Mythos and Transformation of Myth Through Time, which can be found pretty easily on the high seas.
Your illustrations are awesome, well done. I wonder if I can afford to commission you next time I need cover art...probably not. Great video. Sadly you didn't disturb me...will you accept leaving me "just delighted?"
Great work! Really enjoyed it!
Your illustrations in this look like a book by Dave McKean. Amazing!
I'm disturbed that you haven't done a "The Shadowhunter Books are Dreadful: Part 6" video. I wish you would read the last three books just so you can rip them apart.
When are you going to do another video? I always love your videos and I’m looking forward to new ones.
This was beautiful 😊 I feel like we could be great friends if we ever met
I will have to rewatch this 2-3 times.. makes me want to write sth. somewhere .. idk
Dont forgot that people really do miss you between your uploads! Your accent is very relaxing and comforting for me because Im from NZ and I already listened to your other videos a few times. Other channels just arent the same :( Come back from Hogwarts soon
Holy shit...bravo. Standing ovation.
woaha i feel like i’m high, but in a very good way.

Haha I think that’s the best summary of this video
Hi! Perhaps a topic you might enjoy are the feminist nature of the new Stars Wars Trilogy and its tropes. Just an idea for a dissertation for you. I would love your thoughts.
I am delighted😁
Nicely done!
A lot of points reminded me of the fairyland in "The Books of Magic" comic, and also a lot of Neil Gaiman's arguments about fantasy, reality and stories in "The Sandman" comics. Have you read them? I think you'd like them.

I think she mentioned in another video that she likes Neil Gaian a lot!
Yaaasss new video
I really enjoyed this video
Brilliant.
Wow, did that knock me on my ass, i fell asleep it was so calming. Like the forlorn child of the snow queen and wonderland
Could you make a video about your favourite books of all time?
Dude. This was truly fucking fantastic. How did you make all this and how long did it take your?? I seriously really loved it. I don’t know if I’m smart enough to grasp the full meaning of it to be honest, but I just loved it. Im a big fan of your channel and I hope you get all the success and recognition that you deserve
I wish your brother good luck in his A levels, cuz I fucking need it to!!! Terrified of my exams starting this Thursday...
I HATE AUDIOBOOKS, i hate the put on voices for each character, i haaaate them but I absolutely loved this an would love to hear you narrate a book. I think it could finally listen to an audiobook if you did it lol i love true crime podcasts, i just detest audiobooks. Idk how ppl listen to them, its so damn cringey listening to shitty put on horrible voices lol
nearing another year on youtube, i wonder if she will make another video like her Q&A
I miss your videos
very hot voice, marry me
More videos!
Did you pass?

I was wondering the same. I figured it would for school but wasn't for sure until i saw your comment. Idk how she wouldn't have passed, its great!
As you may be able to tell from my rhetorical comment, I'm passed the point of being disturbed by this video. I actually like it more than I've liked anything else on this topic, but I feel for the one person I see at this moment who didn't like it. It is disturbing, and such disturbing feelings are far from fun if you aren't familiar with them, but I'm so deep down the rabbit hole that such disturbing imagery is actually comforting. The Sandstorm of Truth no longer howls; instead, it whispers. It no longer stings; instead, it caresses. Is it fun to get here? Most definitely not! But, it's kinder than the weather that drove me into this hole. Funny how perspective works, isn't it?
WE WANT NEW CONTENT!
Reminds me of exurb1a
Hello. I find your channel really interesting. Ages ago, when you did the video about romantic novels you actually liked, you said you would do another one about romance tropes you don't like. Is it still your plan to do that?
dear god please write a book
fairlyland: the tale of san francisco
I have to know if after you eat pizza at 9pm and hit the pillow hard @The Authentic Observer, is this really your experience? Or is this an embellishment on the delirium of sleep? Honestly my sleep is far too much like boring normal mundane life (my actual life is far less boring). I end up at menial tasks of employment around mediocre people. It is honestly mind numbing. Maybe that's why I usually wake up tired? Not sure what that says about me but here's hoping that your dreams actually are fantastical...
Could I possibly make you cringe so hard and read After and make a rant review because I wanna know what it's about without watching the film because I honestly can't be bothered but I just want to know what the hell the hype is oof :'> and because you are awesome af owo
Speaking as a brother he has got it easy. I do love my sister (*insert ItWasPatricia.meme*). But I am a far colder man than your brother I will do what she asks as well though. Also how do sisters no exactly how to annoy us no one else possesses the skill of annoyance to such a degree. As a sister I hope u can provide insight.
After watching this I refuse to believe you've never read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
Beautiful presentation. Neat ideas as well, but I could tell the source for the basic formula and Joseph Campbell is not, at all, a thinker I respect. Since you're smarter than him, I would suggest you investigate all of his references closely and personally question all of his interpretations.
But, what is a hero besides the validation of society's vanities; an image to emulate and admire? As if your admiration means anything. Villains all; great and small. We have our victims that we've made crawl. For what reason do you justify this? Pleasure? Means to an end? *scoff* Greater good! Poor little naivete. For the sake of that good, you've snuffed some of its flame; sadly dimmer than it was while the rest seems not so bright as before. What vanities do you excuse your flaunted greatness? Sure, it shines grand to you. Do others share your vision? Surely, you must give them your vision; only to blind them to their own. For the sake of your glimmer, you've darkened the big picture; making it harder to see. Poor little naivete. All of it borne from such a pitifully short word; a mere 4 letters in length led by a bold "H." It seems "F" has the upper hand as its word gives life.
You need to narrate books.
This is very girly, enjoy your day.
