I loved learning about socialism and such from Vaush and listening to him debate right wingers once upon a time. Then I started to realize the way he was willing to trample all over opponents that agreed with him on most things, and the way he treated women and the misogyny he allowed in his chat. I stopped watching somewhere between 2020 and 2021. Not surprised by his behavior here, but I am disappointed that I ever looked up to him.

I will never get over the portrayal of Anne of Green Gables in Anne with an E. It was a beloved book series to me as a child. Anne is incredibly feminine in the books. She is also not weak, although shes definitely a bit dramatic and emotional. Like a teenage girl, lol. I didn't finish the show, admittedly. But when Anne, a 13 year old girl in the 18th century, looked at her new mother figure and said "do you see yourself as a delicate flower? Because I don't!" it irritated me. Mostly because I don't think a girl her age in that time would actually say something like that. It felt sort of anachronistic. But also, they shaved off all the delicate, feminine parts of her character in favor of having her run into a burning building to save someone and such. Traditionally masculine traits. She was brave, fierce, and strong, but it was such a strange addition. It seemed that they felt they needed to take away some of her femininity to make her more feminist and that felt so wrong. Anyone who's seen the show and disagrees, tell me if I'm wrong... but I felt her character was dealt a disservice. Side note (probably no one is reading anymore) I think the leading ladies of House of the Dragon are doing a spectacular job at walking the line between femininity and strength, power, etc... game of thrones had strong feminine women but they were often oversexualized and their sexual power was overemphasized when other traits should have taken center stage.

I still get this at 42 and it is worse when I wear a dress, I'm 5'2' 1/2 and I have what I would consider an innocent or sweet face, still look younger than 42, I'm an introvert and kind of timid, but once you get to know me, yeah, I do have a warrior spirit fierce side, but I am both in one and it confuses people, like I pick my battles, I'm very nice, but something makes me angry....run! I let guys open doors for me, I open them for them, but I know some guys like to feel like a Gentleman and I like to feel like a Lady some days, so I don't mind, but other days( Lady, dress pretty, feel girly) but I have days where I feel more tough and I can lift, I go to the gym, but because of my face guys want to coddle me and I Love the look on their face when I can lift whatever they offered to help with, because I do not look like I can( more Mannish, dress in hoddies and jeans, warrior, buff) I've always been an in between person, but yeah guys baby me, sometimes sure, but sometimes it is annoying.

1:31:59 This is more a dunk on himself than anything else. It reveals that the only scenario in which he has interacted with women is when they are all dolled up. He hasn't had intimate moments with women, seen them in their day-to-day, ever supported a female friend in need or seen a sister stressed out. He's never seen a woman without the makeup and he's built his views around his narrow world. This is not to say that women who are often dolled up and wear these things cannot be vulnerable or sincere, I think that's also a load of bs.

Nepotism is how wealth and power stays with the wealthy and powerful. Class divide is widening and people are resentful because most human beings are struggling to keep their shelter and get groceries. When the economy gets even worse, that resentment will turn to violent anger. Your education sounds like a tour of a caste system in the modern world. Every tier has its own belief in what is possible based on the family they were born into. Thanks for sharing your perspective, it's very insightful.

I agree with most of your points and you seem intelligent, but the whole video just has somewhat of a jealous, put down vibe. I like cutesy princess stuff and you were just mocking girls like that I feel like. (Saying “teehee” over and over again). I’m also not being overly sensitive this is just my opinion. But it is a very interesting topic and thank you for making the video! And actually I do like your outfit and bow today 🤣💕💕🫶

I know this was posted a month ago but I wanted to add to the criticism of “Eternal Sunshine” album name - I feel like the title screams allusions to the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” a movie about a manic pixie girl who is too wild to be contained by a poor hurt man who can’t keep up toxic relationship trope. It’s a good movie but I felt it romanticized the toxic dynamic of running away from maturity and pain instead of the message of being accountable for growth. Very similar to Ariana right now. I doubt it’s a coincidence with her other movie references in albums.

PLEASE, you, and EVERYONE, if you haven't already, embrace the One True Only God YHWH Jehovah, Only One Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son and Lord and Savior of our souls and the Only One Holy Spirit. God is good. God is love. Jesus is Lord. Jesus IS coming. Your soul depends on it! I have seen God act in my life. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, helped people through me, took care of people in my life, people I hurt before I found God. God is the only reason I was able to reconcile with my dad before he died. God worked through Jesus Christ to save our souls. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Be baptized in The Holy Spirit, and if He wills, water as well. Repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, that all who believe on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him. Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible. The Holy Bible says, "love thy enemy", "turn the other cheek", "If your enemy is hungry, feed him", "if he is thirsty, give him a drink", "pray for those who persecute you", "do not repay evil for evil". LORD willing, all humans may commit sin of almost every kind (gay, straight), and that's wrong, and all humans sin, as God tells us through the The Holy Bible, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." The Holy Bible also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

I am so glad someone else said Caroline Bessette Kennedy! I thought of the comparison at first sight of the open bateaux necklines, red lips, and pale, lifted 10 shades hair color. Kennedy was shiny, bright, understated and so elegant that she had me buying Vanity Fair at age 14 just to find her picture and a monthly paragraph about the family mansion in Hyannis. Grande is out of her depth in imitating a Kennedy. Also, just towards the end there when you brought up the feminine ideal of a wife who is a demure insecure child, saying that a man cannot compete with the human drive for validation…I mean, round of applause for that deep insight, seriously.

even though this video took me a couple days to watch it, it was the best video-essay (?) i've ever watched! you are sooo deep analyzing complicated things and your way of thinking is so unusual, i like it very much it's such an interesting experience just watching you speak your minds out.. i only wish i knew english better since this is not my native language and i did not understand like 10% of the video as good as the other 90%, but you are really the motivation to learn this language way better! so yeah, thank you so much, such an important topic to discuss, and i DO agree with your thoughts very often.. but once again your wording is just sooo good im speechless

In terms of certain women being disliked by others, there is an easy parallel in the lives of men. I've known plenty of guys that I wouldn't trust with any woman that I cared about, no matter what. Sometimes they weren't even necessarily "bad" guys, but some men (like some women) just cannot control themselves around the opposite sex. No woman wants their man in the same room with the chick who is a flirt, just like no man wants his woman in the same room with the guy who is a sleazebag. Both of these types tend to get a lot of hate from members of their own sex that might not be immediately justifiable to members of the opposite sex.

I'm not an Ariana Grande stan so don't take this as a defence of her, but I wonder how much of Ariana Grande is just society's interpretation of her. To me she's not been an innocent, sweet baby since she was a child actor, and a lot of how she is acting now is just a continuation or how she's always been, just a little cleaned up so she can play Galinda.
