A Christmas Carol: Best Opening Lines

I'm beginning a series looking at some of the best opening lines in literature. Charles Dickens' iconic festive book is up first, of course.
Have a merry Christmas all.

I'm sorry guys, once again my editing is dogsh*t because I was rushing. Had to get this out before Christmas, and I was cutting it fine! There's a few mistakes and I feel like my voice is too quiet in parts ugh, but anyway, I hope you all find something to enjoy here regardless. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas, you guys are awesome xxx

First time I acknowledged epiphany in literature was studying Dickens and it was what struck me. I think in this story Dickens showed how an epiphany can happen, it's a sudden revelation but as consequence of sometime unnoticed or apparently inconclusive previous steps but needed, just like happened to Scrooge. Thank you for sharing your work, it's great and merry late Christmas!

Galatea this video was amazinggggg!! Absolutely love the whole style, the artwork, and I actually liked your voice being somewhat quiet and a bit whispery; not only did it fit the tone of the video perfectly, but it also felt like a really nice contrast to all the KZreadrs who just constantly have loud voices all the time. And the actual content in this video was of course amazing as well! Really great look into the opening of this story. Will look forward to more videos in this series in the future, and also ready to support on Patreon as soon as that goes live! P.S. DEFINITELY agree with others that you could easily be an audiobook narrator ❤

I just recently watched the 2019's A Christmas Carol. I really liked the story. It was a very interesting take on Ebenezer Scrooge's character and how he was completely blind to all the damage he caused to the people around him. The only thing that I wasn't too fan of was the ending. I felt a little underwhelmed though I didn't completely hate it. I know that in the end, Scrooge is going to make up for everything he did even if they don't show it in its entirety.
