Problem is demand for the sport here. It's niche, expensive, and didn't start here, so it's hard to shut down roads and stuff to do this. Sure, some trails and logging roads are fine, but rally includes already used roads and asphalt. Michigan is included in the DiRT games, but there's several regions where rally could shine in the US.

@@a-a-rondavis9438 yeah, the age old question; if you build it will they come? And yeah probably not, always seemed odd to me that moonshiner life turned into nascar instead of rally. Obviously car type availability made a huge impact on why it wasn’t very popular here. American car design has always prioritized strong imagery, power, largesse, and comfort (more or less and among other things) and Motorsport followed suit with particular interest in developing power and largesse. National infrastructure and usable space probably had a lot to do with it too. And now we’re getting an uptick in forced induction on the consumer side but with zero emphasis on driver engagement. What a mess. Leave me to my dreamworlds of American rally stages and niche market vehicles lol

I went to SOFR as a radio operator about 8 years ago and it was a blast then! I wish we had something like this up here in New York, maybe in the Catskills or Adirondacks, with tons of elevation changes and semi-unpredictable weather. It would be a riot

You could have as much or more variety than in world championship series has as there is everything from sand and salt deserts to mountains and forrests of several types and so on.

Best camera set up ever ! Privileged is to see something like this when I used to watch rally cars just from regular cameras from people watching in person. This is something special.

Props to the camera man he never let the car get away and he kept it in the center of the screen while running that fast.

This is the best Rally video I have ever seen. Driver and Nav was also top notch. The camera angle was very nice.

202 km/h on a dirt road is crazy. Even though it was a straight line, it takes crazy skill to keep that car straight on that narrow of a road.

imagine being a marshall and hear this thing coming roaring towards you, damn id love to hear it.

Incredible seeing that last pull, especially during gear changes the "jerk" forward away from the camera is unreal

This might be the best thing I've ever seen on youtube. The sound, the camera, the ride, the car, the turns, the scenery, and like everyone else, that last straight.

This camera should be MANDATORY for all professional rally drivers. Well done mate.

@@x1c3x It unfortunately really seems like it's another rich man's sport. I know in parts of Europe they do rally classes that basically anyone can get in to as they use stock vehicles. That's what I would want to do.

this is insane! I love the camera angle and then the touch of our future with the friggin drone coming into frame at 3:28 in that tight turn. The only thing that could make the cameras more wild is if you mount a bracket with a camera on it between the head rests of the driver/ passenger seat and then give the driver a mounted camera next to their mouth. You could start getting some insane camera/ video edits with a series of cameras. Drone > footage swaps to the 3rd person angle > after entering the turns apex you go into the camera in-between the seats and then for that heart racing effect to match the driver you swap to the angle on his head. the footage you have so far is absolutely bonkers but it could get tons more wild with a little touch

Love the angle, like Dirt Rally.. great idea including the mini map and speedo. Staying around 100 kmh on this stage looks pretty harsh and bumpy in the early and mid stage, it was awesome to watch you handle it. I hope to run this some day :)
