Legit thank you for putting the little “rider is okay” message after that wreck early on. My palms were sweaty enough just watching the race as is (I’ve never seen bike racing like this on a walled circuit like this, it looks absolutely psychotic), I think worrying about that dude getting rocked by the people behind him would’ve done me in. I appreciate you.

It took me about two minutes to realise this is a real race not a racing video game, quality is stunning.

Incredible. I was there in 2023 and was so crazy to hear the sound echoing around the whole city, especially from 07h in the morning

Wow! this is how all races should be filmed from now on. so incredible to watch, I seen somebody else comment how they were trying to work out if this was a game or real life, same boat here because for the most part video games just look so clean and realistic now leaving conventional recording methods behind but this is definitely the best onboard I've ever seen and when the rider wiped out I was clenching my teeth!

In my opinion bike game graphics are not yet quite as convincing as this footage.

This shit is nuts. Street racing is one thing, but at least they have gaps and are mostly racing against he clock like in rally. A whole pack elbow to elbow this close to steel barriers? Huge respect to these guys.

I remember watching this the first time it was posted, and was totally convinced that it was actually video game footage instead of a real life race, the colors are just so vibrant and so clear. The perspective is great, as a rider, and sitting on my couch, I found myself leaning into the curves as I watched. 😳

Wow, everything: the track, the weather, the camera quality, the narrow roads through the city, the speeds, the colorgrading, everything combined makes it just the perfect race video. Beautiful 😍

Macau is one of my favorite race tracks for any motor sport. It looks amazing on a bike though, the sun and trees, tall building, rustic walls and close barriers. Chefs kiss.

Something about this makes it extra amazing - I think it's the dynamic spot that the GoPro is positioned

Try this one. " Fastest EVER Lap of the Isle of Man TT | Peter Hickman - 136.358mph". The 136mph is average speed. He does well over 200mph at times in this video. May I suggest you keep a fresh pair of boxer shorts close by. Lol.

they actually used something like reelsmart motion blur to add synthetic motion blur. It explains a lot of the strange artifacts especially around the edges of the visor. still very cool effect/look.

Who the frick wants to play a video game - as a rider of 44 yrs - my father's words (he a rider of many years) still ring in my ears! "Riding a motorcycle lad, is the closest thing to flying; on the ground" he was as usual completely correct.... once a person gets that! bug, hooked for life..... He had a 33rpm record of the sounds! of the early motorcycles, entered into the isle of man TT races; and could name each one.... I miss him😔 .. he tried to get onto the back with me my on my Harley, wearing a flat cap turned backwards; as he did on a vincent 1000cc black shadow as a much younger man... a legend. Reminds me of racing bicycles in Criteriums. Honestly this looks a bit more palatable, given the fact that you don’t have to deal with dozens of other riders all bobbing about on all four sides of you and getting progressively more and more tired the whole time you race. 😅

When the video ended I realized I was holding my breath and had to hyperventilate to stay alive. That was amazing and all too short.

@murtanio you should ask Lukas to get some device that monitors basic metrics like speed so that it could be displayed on the screen while recording, would be really nice optimization. But still this POV is incredible, so thank you to whoever facilitated this, it's amazing to witness on a 4k monitor.

Actually you know what I'm very confident AI could be trained on both the audio of the gear / motor + the video visual to guess the speed at any given moment with 90 - 99% accuracy with enough data. Sounds like a cheaper, faster alternative with 0 dependencies upon the solution itself. Time to go to work. Bye for now.

The camera crew being able to keep up with the racers is insane. The camera guy must have really good balance to lean into the corners with the driver at those speeds. Heck, they may as well be racing too.
