Hi Vanessa, I need your help. So my cat is absolutely terrified of water, sometimes he even scares himself when he is drinking it lol. And I really need to give him a bath because well he stinks ..so do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to calm him down more once he is inside the bath tub. Thank you. By the way i love your videos so much and they always make me smile. I really appreciate everything you have done to help these adorable creatures.

@@sofiazalazar6904 Hi Sofia...you can get cleansing wipes made especially for kitties...probably on Amazon. My cat hates water, too, but he will tolerate the indignity of these wipes lol. If you do have to give kitty a bath, try to clip his "murder mittens". Hopefully Vanessa can give you some good tips. Your vet can probably give some great advice. Also, check out Jackson Galaxy(he is like a cat whisperer, seriously....funny, entertaining and HIGHLY informative) and his KZread videos. I had a Pekingese, a female. Don’t listen to this review of them. My family’s Pekingese was one of the best dogs we ever owned. They’re loving to their family, calm, confident, sweet, loyal. Not overly clingy. I’m telling you, you’re missing out on probably the best small companion dog you’ll ever have. No anxious behaviors. Very sturdy too. (They’re stocky, believe it or not and so they’re not afraid of being squashed, unlike many other small dogs). My family had an American Eskimo dog, Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, and then the small Pekingese dog and small poodle. The Pekingese is definitely at least number 2 in ranking out of those-maybe number 1. BTW, poodle unfortunately is definitely the worst when compared to these others. Anyways, yeah, they’re not exactly fond of grooming but most dogs aren’t. Our female Pekingese never bit anyone. Even when my much younger cousin when he was a little boy literally was running around and then reached to grab her face. He was a complete stranger to our dog at the time too. She lived to be 16 years old and she was a sweetheart her entire doggy life. Also you’ll be surprised to learn that Pekingese dogs are actually very healthy. Our dog died literally of old age-she had dementia and died from that (forgot how to eat, etc. so we had to put her down). But she never had a single illness her entire life. Even at 16 years old her body was apparently completely sound and good, people even thought she was a young puppy, for real. Because she ran around playing with no issues even at that age. People didn’t believe us when we said she was 16 years old. Anyways, they are great small dogs.

We call my brother’s Pekingese “Cousin It” as she looks like that character. There’s also no such thing as stealth mode with these dogs, they snort constantly.

I'm so glad that there's good groomers like you out there. Our dog s are terrified of groomers because our previous groomers were abusive and usually hit them (we only found out later and switched to a better groomer IMMEDIATELY)

Omg that’s terrible. Why would a groomer hit a dog? (Or any animal for that matter!). I’m sorry that happened to your fur baby, but glad you found out and were able to remove them from said groomer!

Oh my god if I found out a groomer had been hitting my dog or any dog for that matter….I’m so sorry that happened to y’all and I hope they’re fired and are never able to work with animals again. What kind of internal management issues at that grooming business would’ve allowed that to happen? If I was in that position the moment someone tried to hurt an animal they’d be fired, and as someone who used to work with pets a lot I know for a fact that would be the case where I worked. I hope you and your dogs are doing well

@@NellieCollier It's actually more common than you think. My Mom's a groomer and the number of times she'd heard new clients say "My dog is nervous around groomers because of the last one" or something similar is way to high.

Growing up, my next door neighbors had a Pekingese. He was very ferocious and haughty. I was always afraid he would jump on me and try to bite me. My neighbors even put up a sign at their door that said “Beware of Attack Dog.” That being said, I kinda miss him now.

I had a pika-Pom. Best little mutt ever. Lots of personality and a super happy dog. Lots of energy and the Pom mix helped them not have such a flat nose. His name was Oolong had him in my life for 17 years. Really love Pekingese and Poms due to that little nugget, made everything bright and energetic. Haven’t had the courage to go out and adopt another dog yet.

my aunt used to have one of these dogs. her name was "baby" and my aunt would take her to the groomer like every week and they would meticulously put little tiny bows throughout her ear fur and she was the saddest looking dog i'd ever seen, but i loved to play with her and give her lots of love.
