Hi Sky I have been trying to think how best to answer this in a short way. But it’s really about who you know and word of mouth. I only work with recommendations and I also get 2 or 3 quotes too. If you are looking at buying a house check out my video regarding getting the best lawyer/attorney. It’s important to know how to verify and check people out. Keep watching my videos as I am giving advice and tips. I will also be able to help check things further once I am settled. Hope that helps. ☀️🏝️💕

Hi, Jae. How do you handle the screeching of the tree frogs or monkeys? I have a feeling it might drive me and my wife crazy! And what about the idea of "island fever"? Apparently some folks who go to Costa Rica or elsewhere do it because they aren't sure they can handle living permanently on an island. Are you able to stay off of street or restaurant food that may not be as healthy?

Hi Dovy, I love the sound of the doves etc, I find it really relaxing especially early in the morning when you can’t hear traffic just these noises. The roosters can be a challenge if they are crowing in the early morning hours but I don’t have that! I will still be going to U.K. every 6 months but know expats who stay full time on the island. They like the quiet times with less tourists as they can enjoy beaches without crowds. So it just depends on you. Some travel to other islands close by for a break or others do the same as me. We try to live as locals in that we don’t feel it necessary to eat out at restaurants all the time like I did when I came on a short holiday. I eat lots of salads and vegetables and fish. 🐠 I shop and cook at home. I try to live a regular lifestyle that focuses on healthy eating and exercise. I also walk a lot and swim. Hope that helps. 🥑🍍🥒🥥

@@expatbarbados-jaeophelia Is it only crickets around or also the monkeys and what are called tree frogs? Is island fever a serious thing? Are there many full time expats or snowbirds from Canada in Barbados. Someone named Nancy Solo Traveler from here in Alberta has done some great videos on Holetown. I think she calls it home (Sunset Crest). Buying anything imported must be extremely costly over time.
