I feel very nervous being this vulnerable about how i am feeling. I know it is part of the process & that feeling behind is a universal feeling, regardless of where you are in life. Social media tends to show only the highs & wins but i want to be open about not just the good days but also the not so good ones too:)

Dude at 27 she has been out of high school for almost 10 years!!! I don't know how it will all turn out but lets be real if she had a super good situation she at leas has options.... But if she is behind she might have a very limited number of options open to herself!!! Stuff just does not reward effort but results and many of the rich young just got super lucky (and also tend to be very difficult people.)

@@donaldlyons17 I’m more than twice her age. At 27, I already had 2 degrees and was on my 2nd career. A few years later, I completely changed careers and hadn’t even yet met my wife to be. Mid 30’s stuff began to gel. Those early experiences helped me decide who and where I wanted to be. I had no way to even be aware of what my life would ultimately be. 20’s are a great time to be adult without certainty.

Life doesn’t “start” when you get a bf/gf or job. Life encompasses everything that we do. From eating, sleeping and reading, to traveling, spending time with people that we enjoy, or simply being in each moment. Living is an art, a gift, an experience. Our life starts before we can even form memories and lasts until after we’ve lost many of them. Jobs and romantic relationships are just a part of the adventure. Stories don’t start once the dragon is defeated or when the prince and princess live happily ever after. And neither does life. Wishing everyone reading this all the best on your personal adventure!

It's definitely can be though to start over at any age, depends on what point of life you're in. Always go in your own time line and not what or how you see yourself in others timelines. Create your own time line, take your time with it, especially with relationships. I haven't been in a relationship in years and I just got into one and it feels weird being back in a relationship after a long time. But it's a fresh new chapter in your life and any relationship has their own challenges. Be yourself, take your time, create your own time line and look back at what you already have and built that up to your current point in your time line. You got this!

I saw this little note I made back when I was 18. Reading it now, all the goals look too extravagant and unattainable. Right now, I only want peaceful life where I tend to my garden and eat 3 meals a day, but even that kind of peace is turning to be a stretch in my new reality

We each need judge life success, based on our own circumstances, not others. I went back to school got job not quite doing what I wanted, worked through multiple companies and advancement paths. Found my calling early 30’s, moved with a transfer 1,200 miles. 30 years later looking back yes it was worth it for me and where I ended up and our financial wellbeing.

I am 30 and let me tell you what suprised me. During my twenties I felt so behind everyone else and I didnt have a job.. I was a college dropout, emphasis on "was" I live in a place that allow for re education, did so with pretty darn good grades. I am motivated and Life has given me a passion, and a way forward. You know what i have learned? MOST people you feel behind, their olympic fire probably have already burnt out or is close to burning out, I have gone to multiple schools during my lifetime and i would dare to say that just a handful of people still working hard out of all of them. I had a past that's why it took 30 years to get my life together, but my 30's is set up to be the best fucking years of my life. I am not rich yet, maybe in the future but at least i got a road to walk on, and i no longer feel behind. :) You just need to find your passion and give everything you have, and your 30's can be the best years of your life. + you are beautiful so i wouldnt count on you feeling behind that long. 27 isnt old. 30 isnt old. still got 2/3 of the road to go and you can make a lot of changes in just a couple of years.

I feel you. I’m also almost 27 and i decided to change careers, i already had a new job lined up, in a new country, and at the last moment it fell through. I’m considering going anyway since i already have a place to stay and just look for a job when i get there but the whole idea of moving countries without certainties is so daunting and scary. I’m the same as you when it comes to dating, i just can’t do apps. I also thought i’d have my life figured by now. You’re not alone ❤

I did start again in my 27s with nothing much at that time since I was in school most of the time and in and out for several jobs. But at least if you decided to choose something then you have 50% winning already. Be brave and work hard on it then you will get the fruit later. Wish you all the best.

Haha this feels very relatable in NYC as well, especially at 25 when I wanted to start something myself. I think I save a lot of mental energy by not being attracted to social media. There were times before when I often compared myself to others close to me, and it definitely felt like what you've said. I've grown slightly more comfortable knowing that I'm always going to be behind since I'm not going the same path as most do. Who knows, maybe we'll see some amusing scenery this way.

I'm glad that I'm not alone. I'm 27 but I never had a boyfriend because it's not really my cup of tea until now. I still enjoy my singleness...I also try not to put pressure to myself to get married since I've witnessed from my friends and colleagues how difficult it is. I'm currently taking my masters while working at the same time. I'd feel lonely and get teased sometimes for being single but I don't really care. I just don't want to rush things. I'm just really thankful that my parents think the same way that I do and they're always supportive to me ❤

27 is very young. I’m 34 right now and I feel the same, having to start over when it comes to career choices. When I was 27, I felt like I had my life under control. But years later, here I am, without a job and feeling lost. There are times when I feel like I’m past my “prime” and I’m falling behind as well but then I realize that life is not a linear journey. There will be a lot of turns and ups and down. Our journey is different from one another, so don’t ever think you’re falling behind. And when you feel at your lowest, then it only means that there’s no other way but up.

Hey Girl, I'm 37 now. Single and happy than ever. My last hertbroken was 2 years ago. If you're 27, my advice is go as much as adventure you can think of. You can hang out with different people, start a business, learn new thing, anything you can think of. Those 'adventure' is a like gathering data to find what you want to do with your life. That's what I'm doing in these 2 years and the result is amazing! Oh, and please read! 20 minutes a day reading will change your life in the long run.

It’s okay I am going through similar :) I’m 26, finishing my Masters in Europe this summer. I’ve had two relationships here that didn’t last and I don’t want to date right now so I can just focus on my thesis and work, and I don’t know where I will move for a post-grad job. I could move to DC since I’m having a hard time finding work as a non-EU citizen and my salary would be so high in the US. I thought I would be in Europe forever, but it’s just not working out like that. But that’s okay! Starting over again can be frustrating but I am looking on the bright side of making more money, being closer to friends and family, being in a more social place, etc. It is a blessing to be able to start over again and shape my own life :)

27, pursuing post degree qualifying paper, healthy relationship with a significant other for a few months now. It has not been easy for me. I've battled depression for the past few years and battling anxiety everyday along with low self esteem. However, I've pushed through with support from friends and my recent significant other. Felt I am so left behind because I don't have a job and still living off of my parents but I always remind myself that my life is different from the others as what I am pursuing requires more time and dedication. Felt so left behind because everyone is getting married, earning decent wages and living bougie lifestyles but we need to remind ourselves that not everything on social media is true. They might have their personal battle as well and decided not to put it on social media. Everyone you got this. Have faith in what you're doing and where you're heading. Your dreams shall come true sooner than you expected. *Gives virtual hugs*

Same as you. Got 27 recently and I'm jobless and spend most of my days lonely at home. I always thought I would do big things in life but I got a reality check and the life I was dreaming after graduation wasn't as expected. I quit my well paid job cause I couldn't bear how useless I felt. I jumped into a music formation then a video editing one. I told confidently my mother few years ago that I would be rich in 2025. It's just a dream now and I'm rather on the opposite side of the spectrum. I understood I can't work for someone and my dream of freedom prevails overall so I want to be my own boss and travel at the same time, that's my objective this year.
