I became a millionaire at 26. Here's 13 lessons for anyone in their 20s.

Here are 13 lessons I would share with anyone in their 20s. I just turned 30 last week and wanted to pay it forward by sharing the best advice I could offer those still in their 20s. Making money is the LEAST interesting thing about life, but I also understand how many young people value this (just like I did!). This is why these lessons will cover how I made money and, more importantly, the crucial life lessons I learned as a result. The learnings may surprise you, so keep watching!

At the very least, I now grasp the concept of leverage. Creating wealth and financial freedom isn't as tough as many people believe. Building wealth and remaining financially stable indefinitely is a lot easier with the appropriate information. Participating in financial programs and products is the only true approach to make a high income and remain affluent indefinitely.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.Making money is not the same as keeping it there is a reason why investments aren't well taught in schools, the examples you gave are well stationed, the market crisis gave me my first millions, people shy away from hard times, I embrace them.. well at least my advisor does lol.

Yes, I agree. Paying attention to people's behaviors and actions is critical for your survival and livelihood. I learned very expensive lessons from people in general who betray you for money, relationships, and ill intentions. Try and test people before you really trust them. Ultimately, you have to believe in yourself in order to accomplish goals meaningful to yourself. From my experience, making good money is not a problem, 90% of my problems are caused by people. So, be very selective who you socialize with - I guarantee you will have less headaches.

I agree that when you become rich you'll realize most things don't matter. But the thing is a lot of people want to be rich not because they want a new car or they want to just buy $300 or $400,000 house. It's because they want to be able to just afford food and if their car breaks down they can repair it and if they need to spend $2,000 because something happens to their house or any inconvenience they can take care of without feeling like they're not going to make it to the next paycheck. Most people don't really want to be rich so they can buy whatever they want. They want to be rich so they don't have to worry when they have essentials. They need to take care of that. They don't have money saved up for

Nothing happens overnight, but it’s these limiting beliefs in yourself that make you not get that good presence. You need to get rid of these limiting beliefs and continue to strive for success without making excuses for why you’re ’not there yet’. Instead focus on ‘what is this teaching me?’ And ‘how can I use this as a lesson to grow from?’

I had initially planned to retire at 62, work part-time, and save money, but the impact of high prices on various goods and services has significantly disrupted my retirement plan. I'm worried about whether those who experienced the 2008 financial crisis had it easier than I currently am. The volatility of the stock market is a concern as my income has decreased, and I fear that I won't be able to contribute as much as before, potentially jeopardizing my retirement savings.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

I’m early 30s but I love the fact that I know the things I’m experiencing are a gift, as well as I need to stop and smell the roses. I know when I get everything on my list I might be over it quickly. So I’m in my first life looking forward to my second. I’m reading daily and podcasting all the time in my car. Just about ready to share my value with the world and this video let me know I’m on the right track and to think deeper. Thank you girl!👏🏾👏🏾

17:34 "I learned that being lost is such a beautiful thing because it's an uncomfortable stage in your life where your old self is gone and you haven't met your new self yet" I really really needed to hear this. I'm currently 23 and having trouble figuring out what I want to do with my life. Stuck in a corporate job, and also thinking of dropping it to do something of my own. It's a big risk but yeah, maybe I should learn to embrace this phase. Thank you.

Especially where you talk about your values changing vs your environment and not ditching your friends just because you feel like there not on the same trajectory as you. As a 23 year old I’m on this journey now, and I’m lucky to have come across your video, as you laid out some gems i needed!

This is excellent advice Vanessa. I'm a lot older at 55 but I wanted to do a KZread channel and I did it and found I love it. The thing I found the hardest wasn't the learning of new skills it was the negative comments because I speak very slowly and that seemed to offend people and they told me in no uncertain terms. Now, I just ignore them and concentrate on the positive ones. You have to do what is good for you 1st. Keep up the amazing work.

This is such a great video and you didn’t miss! I wanna add the perspective (which I’m sure you already know) is I feel like many of us want to accumulate wealth not to buy new items, but because we value family and all the other things you said you realized later. My MAIN reason for wanting more money is so I can have more TIME. Time to join communities, explore hobbies, be with friends and family, etc. yes I’d like the material stuff, but I know that’ll fall off, and what I really want is time away from slaving away at a job 😭. This video was so good and could’ve saved me a lot of heartache had I watched it back at 23 when I quit my career. Early 20’s peeps, hear her out! Beautiful that you made this video :]

Thank you so much for sharing all of your experiences and lessons that you’ve learned with us Vanessa! I’m so glad I found your channel. I think the one piece of advice I would share with my younger self is to not let other people’s opinion hold more value than your own. I spent a lot of my twenties directing my life according to other people’s perceptions of me and I wish I spent more of that time listening to myself and having more faith and trust in my own abilities. But, like you, i’m now trying to treat these things as lessons and learning experiences moving into the next chapters of my life. I’m in my 30s now, but a lot of what you said really resonated with me and I definitely feel like i’m at the point where i’m meeting another version of myself again. I especially love what you said about lifting others up with you. I think this is so important and can apply to everyone in all walks of life. As an artist, it can be easy to compare yourself to others or feel that others are comparing themselves to you, but I believe we can all bloom beside eachother in our own time and in our own way. So, a lot of this was a really good reminder for me moving forward on my journey. Best wishes to you as you continue on yours! ♥️
