  I've worked in corporate roles for over 20 years and have been a manager/leader/director for several. Being responsible for a team in business is exactly that. Running a team, working toward a business objective. What it's not, us a group of friends, just working together on a project. The culture can and indeed should FEEL like that, but there must be clarity that there's a clear business objective that we're working toward. It has nothing to do with my identity as a person or leader. It's about the business. I also think in solopreneur businesses, it's hard to keep your identity separate from your products, but that is key. Your knowledge is not you. You are you. Your knowledge gets packaged into a product in order to make it transferrable to someone else. And that is the value the product gives them. It doesn't have to mean you're especially better than you were before. Because after we retire, whether from your own business or a corporate job, you are still you, and still as wonderful and worthy as the day you were born. Just sharing my thoughts.

  Props to you speaking about uplifting others around you. This is something I intentionally try to put into practice every time I talk to someone, I truly believe everyone needs it and the people, that are closest to you, actually deserve it. However, this requires effort and not many people are willing to do it. Actually, I haven't heard anyone talking about it so far! So, huge respect to you for that.
