I’m so happy that I learnt cursive in school from the age of six - I’m ten and pretty good at faux calligraphy.

Wow, Thank you! I've watched tons of videos and you are the 1st person to mention lettering is NOT cursive! I just assumed nice cursive was a prerequisite to end faux lettering. Is BY FAR THE MOST HELPFUL TIP EVER, when of comes to lettering for a beginner!!! I tried it it and what a difference on just the first try. Of course it will to practice to get where I want to be but WOW I don't know why that never clicked before.

My 1st true Lettering passion! Thank You for the whole "Lettering is NOT cursive". Seriously my handwriting is chicken scratch from so many years working in the medical field...seriously illegible and very sloppy. However my Hand Lettering is spot on! Two totally different things! What i do is do that sapcing for letters and then shade it down

Yes yes yes, I love how you compared lettering to cursive! That's something I am STILL getting used to! I try to remember that lettering isn't so much about "writing", but it's more so essentially "drawing" your words .. using varying lines! And when you draw, you don't keep your pen on the paper consistently ... you lift it up all the time! So it's normal to lift up your pen for lettering, NOT for cursive! Since cursive is about fast writing!

2:40 Yeah you're right. I don't know how to write in cursive now since I've started calligraphy. My cursive in school is like a dkbakzbaksbka or not legible. Comment edited -> it's in 2:25

These are sketch pens and not bursh pens

It isn't a tutorial. You should be keeping the paper straight so that we can do exactly what you are doing. But in this video, you're enjoying at your own . I don't call this a tutorial. I can't see the strokes properly unless I turn my phone to side. This is disgusting.
