I mostly use pen 68( regular and lettering version). TYSM for the video. I love ❤ lettering and journaling.

Lettering makes me feel relaxed whenever I am stressed so if you are stressed you can definitely try practising your lettering I might even order your book

Hello-I just discovered the art of hand lettering during a card making video I was watching. Your channel popped up when I searched for hand lettering videos & I'm so glad. You make it sound simple & easy (with practice). I had a sharpie so practiced along as you were explaining everything & mine didn't turn out too bad...lol....So, I just subscribed to your channel, purchased your book & a pack of the Pentel pens. My favorite beginner brush 0en is tombow fudenosuke. For someone who is a beginner I would like to say that I just practiced faux calligraphy for the first 2 years. But just before an year I got tombow fudenosuke and I struggled for 2 months. So then am doing with tombow dual brush pens. It takes a lot of practice. Take ur time. This art is wonderful and u gotta give it some time

@@EnsignInsights am so glad that u replied. Yes faux calligraphy is great to start with but after u are so good in that u develope a craze on brush pens. So yeah after an year or two u can do brush lettering u are my inspiration abd I'm 13 years old

I’m very curious to know how you’d compare the Monami pens you like so much and the Le Pen Flex. The colors seem similar and I already know I love the Le Pens but the Monami are definitely a bargain!

Ooh interesting question! They don't seem similar at all to me. Monami are so tiny and so firm. Le Pen Flex are firm but more flexible. I personally love both and I'm happy to have both. I don't know if that helps at all!

Hello - My name is gavin - I've oddly enough been doing calligraphy since middle school...I just always had very fluid handwriting. But now that I have been watching videos for "real structure" it seems like I have gotten WORSE! LOL...LOL... Also in this VIDEO what BRand of Brush pens are you using - They are so flexible and the pens i have have frayed quickly. What's your best recommendation for Brush Pens. i see everyone is really supportive of the Tombow Pens and i have the Fudenosuke Hard Tip. Sarah, the very beginning of any letter with a... stem? What do you call that first stroke of a letter P, K, and the T. Yours are Smith with a nude top and bottom. Mine look like torn fabric. Yours are smooth from top to bottom. What's the trick?

you are exactly right when you said this is when most people get stuck... "PRACTISE" This happen to me.... I learnt to write alphabet but I dont know what to do next.. I scared cause im not sure how to combine/connect them. And they looks awkward...i start practising with some words like the name of the months and tracing them on a paper...it looks good when tracing but when i wrote it by myself...its not that good. this is so frustrating.

Yes, they are on the more expensive side for brush pens! Because they are such good quality, they are worth the investment in my opinion. I use them as watercolor too so they have multiple purposes for me which saves me money in the long run.

Ooh this just gave me so many ideas! Ok I will put a little thought into this. On instagram there's an account that shares all of the lettering challenges. I think it's letteringchallengehq (hq for headquarters). I think that's it! It's a great account because then you can search through the monthly challenges to find one that excites you. There are ones for tv shows and movies and all kinds of things so it's a great way to find people who are interested in the same things as you! :)
