HAha, I love it! I love this beanie for a couple reasons! It's super basic so you can change the colors for so many different looks PLUS the flat canvas makes it easy to attach things such as ears for an animal beanie, patches for themed beanies for sports or characters, and a pompom or two. I hope you have SO much fun! 🤗❤️🧶✨

I only needed 4 rows of the of the no increase before the ear flaps instead of the 6 it calls for, but I made it both ways and gave the bigger one to my hubby

tip. This project is extremely susceptible to tension. Ive made a bunch of these (thanks for the tutorial Tiffany), and they turn out vastly different sizes depending on my mood, even with the same yarn and hook. So just watch your tension, try the beanie on, by row 10 it should be a bit loose and youre on the right track.

Great question! I recommend you getting the free pattern by clicking the link in the description section below the video. The pattern actually has a breakdown of how to make this beanie in every size you can think of including adult large. It's just a matter of what round increase you will go to at the top. 😊❤️🧶

what size of yarn (in mm) did you use?

My mouth was actually dropping because of how you are able to get the hook through so fast without getting it stuck😂

Great question! The crown of the beanie. We basically begin with increase rounds until we have reached the width we need for the size, then work straight rounds to add length. You can definitely refer to a beanie sizing chart to help figure out dimensions. I find some great charts on Pinterest and google. 😊❤️🧶

Are you slip stitching in the top of chain two at end of each row or into the first DC.

Hi Cindy! That is a great question. I am slip stitching into the top of the first double crochet. If you slip stitch into the top chain of the chain 2 a gap will form. I avoid this by slip stitching in one more stitch over (on top of the Double Crochet) to tighten things up. Thank you so much for asking! 😊🧡🧶

Great question! YES! The idea is that each increase round in the beginning will stand for a specific size. If you add one more round of increases that should get you the next size up.
