Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hi, thanks for checking out my pattern! This pattern give you the option to make 3 different styles of hats. The hats start out the same and as you reach the end of the pattern the changes are given to make each style. Below is a little more information about the hats, happy crocheting!
The lengths of each style are as follows:
Basic Beanie - 8.25"
Folded Edge (measured with edge not folded): 10.5"
Slouchy: 13"
You can find the written pattern here: byjennidesigns.blogspot.com/20...

    What a blessing to have people like her taking the time to share this design with us...and the printed instructions was a bonus as I like to crochet when I'm watching TV. I crocheted the Basic Beanie because my son won't wear anything else...I also make extras for the mens shelter. Many blessings and thank you from the heart! 💓

    My first beanie…. It’s awesome thanks to your well explained, clearly stated stitches…. I love that you say how many stitches we should end up at every row. I have a hard time starting my first stitch after the single crochet, but I’m glad you showed it, and ending is also a challenge for me… thank you for showing it clearl6 and slowly. Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much! 😊

    Thank you so much for this pattern! I was at a loss what to get my husband for his birthday when i stumbled upon this. Hed been asking me for a beanie. This pattern fit perfectly on his giant head. I made the folded over one. I used size 3 and size 2 yarns (wool and acrylic) until row 25 and then size 3 super fluffy yarn for the rim.

    Thank you so much. I’m using this pattern in wool for some African men and boys who have moved to our area. I like the more dense hdc and sc stitches. Though I’ve been crocheting for decades, I printed the pattern for keeping myself on track as I make 6 or 8 while watching tv. I really like your option of video AND printed option. This video is so great, thank you🥰 but I have a question, when you do the slipstitch in the very first hdc, did you also do the first hdc from the next row in that very first hdc where the slipstitch is done?

    Hi Shaelyne, I'm so glad you like the pattern. To make this for a child you would need to make less increases and rows. I do not know exactly how many but as a guide 1" = 4 hdc. Good luck & happy crocheting!

    Hi Monica, thank you! That's a great question! It sort of depends on your preference but I would say maybe to change the color for the last 7 or 8 rows so you would want to switch at row 26 or 27. 🙂

    I am sorry, I do not yet. You can do a few less increases and rows to make it a womens size though. As a guide, 4 hdc = approx 1". Depending on how much smaller you need it you can just work 4-6 less increases in row 12 and then shorten it by maybe 3 rows. I hope this helps, happy crocheting!

    Hi! I'm a crochet beginner but I'd like to make a few of these as gifts this year. To make it larger you say to add a few increases, can you explain what increases are? Is that adding more 2 half double crochets? Like instead of doing 1, then 6 singles, maybe 2 then 6 singles? Thank you!!

  • @ByJenniDesigns

    Yes, exactly. An increase is when you work more than one stitch in the same place. 😁

    This is so easy to follow, thank you! My husband has a big head - could you tell me how to make this a little bigger around? I’m assuming I just do another one or two increases (like, get to 88 stitches, maybe) but then I’m unsure how to do the row after I stop increasing. Your next row was 9 hdc then 2, 6 and 2, etc but if I add stitches I don’t think that will work. (I’m new at this, sorry!)

  • @ByJenniDesigns

    @ByJenniDesigns

    Hi! Yes, you have the right idea. For 1" larger add 4 hdc increases, 8 for 2". You can just do these in row 11. Just spread them out throughout the row. :)

  • @ByJenniDesigns

    Hi Blair, thank you! To make this hat larger I suggest adding some increases in row 12. As a guide, 4 increases should make the hat about an inch larger in circumference so you might want to try 6-8 increases. 🙂

    Hi Jenni, I'm about halfway done and the width measures 12" across. A little research online indicates almost unanimously that a men's circumference beanie is 23". It seems like this will be too big. I don't mind taking apart what I did to make it smaller. Would you recommend that?

  • @ByJenniDesigns

    @ByJenniDesigns

    6 ай бұрын

    Oh no, that is measuring a little large. I'm so sorry! Before you pull it out, if you haven't already, try it on your head so you can get an idea of how much smaller you would like it. Then, you can pull out back to row 11 🫤 and remove some of the increases. To decide how many, you'll need to measure across and see how many hdc's make up an inch or two (depending how much smaller you need it).

    First came out beautiful, but is the seam in the back supposed to be straight or does it go off to a slant? The first one I made it went to a slant and it fit perfectly the second one I made I thought maybe it’s supposed to go straight and so I joined at the stitch right to the left and where you showed you joined and it went straight, but then the hat was small. What is the seam part supposed to look like thank you

  • @ByJenniDesigns

    @ByJenniDesigns

    The seam does go off to a slant. I've tried one in the round (no seam) and you do have to add quite a few increases to make it the right size.
