i know, i didn't think he was ever single. i figured he and his wife had a pre-arranged mormon wedding right out of high school.

I've always been impressed with Gaffigan's ability to keep it clean and hilarious at the same time. Easily in my top 10 comedians.

At that time he was probably a little less funny than now. I remember seeing him back around that time on Comedy Central and thinking, "this guy's smile funny, not laughing funny."

He's pretty good. Although I've never understood people's obsession with clean comedy. Great comedy makes you think not just laugh. Generally that requires touching on some sensitive issues. There is a reason the all time greats are Carlin and Pryor

Watching him perform as a young man, it made me happy for (and for some reason, proud of) him to win the audience so well. He was probably already making a name for himself by this time, but I think it's so cool to see him coming into his own comedy prowess.

Been quoting the water bit and the Mexican food bit ever since this aired 20-ish years ago. He sure has made an impresion on me! That's why he's stands the test of time.

That wasn't the first bottled water. Bottling water has been a part of human civilization since the dawn of time. According to the encyclopedia, Evian started around 1789. However, Jacksons was a bottled water company in the US in 1967.

4:12 I was watching an interview with one of the ad execs responsible for making bottled water popular and she said that was exactly the public's reaction at first. They had to make ads with celebrities drinking bottled water in order to convince the public it was a cool thing to do.

This is the first ever clip I saw of Mr. Gaffigan! He's changed his style so much, but he's always been able to make me laugh 🤣

When I saw this I immediately remembered I forgot to put on my Roagaine. I am not sure he has more top hair now, but with the beard you don't notice as much, and he combs over.

@@ppumpkin3282 I'm lucky I have long blond hair, and my dad's in his 80s and still has his hair, but his younger brother went bald when he was in his 20s, so ya never know if you will inherit the DHT male-pattern baldness gene. I think my hairline has receded a bit but I haven't really been paying attention to my temples (?) until recently lol. If I go bald at any age and can't reverse it (eating pumpkin seeds to block DHT production, keeping good blow flow to the scalp and follicles, etc.), I just hope shaving my head won't be difficult (as a lot of other white guys seems to keep their heads 100% shaved all the time) cos I'd prefer that to hair on the edges/fringes :P

Hot pockets and then diet pills were the ads I got before this. Lol

Couple dozens Hooooot Pockets later and a side of mayonnaise! Lol 😆

bottled water came out in 1989 so the bottled water joke has held up this long! I remember the first time I saw bottled water. I thought, heck you can get a free drink out of the water fountain, why would I buy it?! Now there aren't any water fountains and people like to carry water with them everywhere they go now.

This was the stand up that introduced me to Jim Gaffigan! Where is the rest of the show, anyone got it? I remember him mentioning "5 kids, Catholic" or something like that, about Catholic families, ironically. LOL!
