I guess you didn’t realize mine was satire. I made that clip with a buddy that you reacted to at the very end! Army veteran, 03-09, OIF III, 42A. Chairborne leads the way! I do laugh seeing these reaction videos.

Thank you for talking about (Stolen Valor) A big thank you for service on this Memorial day. In 1981 when i finished my 6 years as an (NG) when i checked out at Armory, the Sargent says I must turn over all my clothing & field gear, now mind you this was issued me at Basic training at Fort Jackson S.C. not by my home company. He said I would be arrested if did NOT turn in all my clothes. It was all BS. That treatment by these what i call thief, the Sargent was probably selling the clothes to Army surplus stores. This treatment of me, is the biggest thing that pissed me off about my 6 years of service to the State. Did anyone else go through similar treatment when they left service. Just asking. A big thank you to all service members on this Memorial day.

When I deployed to Iraq I was put into a composite Movement Control Team from Ft. Bragg, NC. We went to CIF, picked up our basic issue items and equipment - mobilized and deployed. Upon our return there were several "expendable" items that CIF did not want back. Most of the members of my unit either dumped them or they found a home in a local Army Navy store because it would have cost soldiers extra baggage fees to take items they no longer needed/wanted home. About 2 months after arriving home I got a nasty-gramm email from the Battalion XO boot licker stating that those items were supposed to have been turned into the Battalion Supply Sergeant. Interestlingly, we had inquired before we left if that was the case and were told no, no-thanks, nope. MAJ Boot Licker, then threatened that if the items were not paid for and not accounted for that my soldiers were going to be charged. I said that it the wrong answer and was not what was going to happen. I told MAJ BL - that I would be contacting my Congressman and opening up a Congressional inquiry on him by name, because I could document by sworn statements that I had explicitly asked him and Battalion S-4 about the issue before departing. I'm guessing Congress won't take very well to the Army punishing soldiers who just got back from Iraq financially. MAJ BL went away...

I watch video's like this sometimes and I always come away unsure if I am entertained or mad. Thanks for putting this up though. Needs a little adjustment with the audio between the narration and clips. For your viewers that might not know, you will never see some Super Duper Special Duty Black Ops Top Secret soldier in uniform in public CONUS. However; IF such a person existed, you might stand next to them at the grocery check out or gas pump and they will look and act just like everyone else.

We got hit up by a guy in a parking lot all dressed in uniform asking for donations for an operation for his son . He was playing the part well. Dressed very ornately military. He had a portfolio showing his sons disability, all the documents etc etc. I got hit up by him twice actually in about a 6 month period of time .I actually gave him $20, oh well. Anyway, I seen him the next year in a different town doing the same thing. I walked up to him and asked him how he was doing as he was talking to somebody in their vehicle, hitting them up. He recognized me finally and then things got real awkward. I said well I guess your son still hasn't got his operation huh. He folds up his portfolio and goes the other direction. I look back and think I should have reported him. How disgraceful!!!

as a collector of uniforms i agree that the people who commit stolen valor are wrong and need to be delt with. sometimes i wear the uniforms i collect in public but i dont claim to have served in their military nor do i ask for free stuff. its not illegal to wear military uniforms as long as your not trying to get benefits from it then its a crime.

These liars should be ashamed of themselves. It’s funny, my dad served four years with the Marine Corps during World War II. Yet he never talked about his service or joined the American legion or any veterans organization. I never understood why. When he passed, I requested his records and saw he was a staff Sergeant for the quartermaster section in Philadelphia. He never went to the Pacific. Perhaps he was embarrassed with his service, that he never left the states while his high school buddies went overseas. Maybe he didn’t want to join these organizations because he didn’t want to get made fun of by fellow veterans. I mean what war stories can he say? It’s a shame, though that he kept quiet while these fakers lied soe easily. I wish he realized he performed an important service and was honorably discharged.

I deployed to Iraq in 2004-2005 for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and I had good buddies who were activated for state-side service in support of OIF/OEF. Those of us who went to the sandbox were always aware of the essential role that was being fulfilled by our counterparts executing state-side missions. Your dad fulfilled his duty with honor and integrity and has exactly nothing to be ashamed of - never did. Thank you for sharing!

Your father was a hero! He signed the dotted line and took the oath. He knew a war was going on and yet he still signed up! It really doesn't matter what your job is in the military, or if you saw combat action. It takes everybody in the military doing their jobs to make it work. Support personnel keep the front lines going. Be proud of your father's service 🙏 I was a paratrooper in Desert Storm and I have a lot of respect for anyone who volunteers to serve this great nation past and present. I salute your father!!

Verbal abuse, bullying and harassment are never acceptable to another human being - even if they are impersonating a combat veteran. I'm a Gulf War veteran, and if I saw someone appearing to steal Valor, I would ask them nicely to go change. I would tell them they are disrespecting what we stood for. But I wouldn't abuse them.

I would and have confronted someone panhandling in ACUs (my uniform). I gave him some (very good) fried chicken, and he sneered and told me he would rather have "some fucking cash." So I might have lost it a little. ...then again, it's Denver and I'm from the south. Maybe, if he was, he would have grown up appreciating good fried chicken.

I played dress up in a Soldiers uniform since I could remember, and then at 17 I joined the military. Honestly, who cares I think people need to stop being so sensitive and mind their own business! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... I mean unless you're doing it for some monetary gain, which even then I just can't help but laugh at some of the "homeless vets" stories. Leave them alone, this is supposed to be a free country in which "you had some friends that fought and died" for. Hell, go down to Ft. Benning and see how many cab drivers were Airborne Ranger Special Forces Delta CIA secret squirrel. Honestly, who cares! (11:58) I think this was a parody by a couple vets, if you hung around privates long enough this is definitely something they would be up to for laughs.

Oh no I have called out people myself and if I thought something was suspicious which I have I'll check up on the person and because I'm also do security and certain areas will check and make sure they actually have actual proper ID and make sure that they're not loitering or some crazy stuff and if they turn out to be the real deal then that's cool but to be honest there's a lot of stolen valor out there and a lot of homeless people pretend to be vets in they are not. One person that tried to pass it off didn't even know what the VA was and had no idea what a unit was was and had no idea what a DD-214 was 😂😂😂 and I don't know what it is in most states, and the state that I do security in and my state that I'm from it is a felony charge to wear any sort of uniform official to gain any sort of trust of the public or for gain of money and absolutely I will come up and I will check on whoever is panhandling that's wearing any sort of uniform because let's be honest most homeless veterans they don't want nobody to know that they were in the service they don't talk about it and they're messed up in the head from everything that they've been through and that includes Vietnam vets especially. And they just choose not to get help through the VA or they have just burned their Bridges with trying to get into programs and then they just refuse to stay clean

(2) Parades on National or State holidays or other patriotic parades or ceremonies in which any Active or Reserve U.S. military unit is taking part. www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/dodi/133401p.pdf 10 U.S. Code § 772 - When wearing by persons not on active duty authorized - likewise covers a range of authorized wear of the uniform including retirees at specified events and occasions.
