"... one of Faith Hill's best tracks ..." I believe it is my favorite song of hers, and has been since I first heard it almost 24 years ago. Besides the painful recollections the lyrics stir up, it gives me pain that the song's composers, Steve Diamond and Dennis Morgan, are not even mentioned in the video's description. Songwriters rarely get the credit or recognition they deserve. I hope they at least got paid well for it.

Can't do any better than a great song that touches the soul, Faithe Hill on lead vocals and the amazing Vince Gill backing her. Love, love. love this song!

I don’t listen to a lot of country, but something about this one keeps me coming back after all these years. Great lyrics, excellent performances and vocal harmonies. Just a fantastic song.

I had no idea...that's cool of him to let her have the spotlight but still help out. His ego seems to be very balanced. If anyone is interested, Kacey Musgroves sings a duet with Willie Nelson and she does that too, let's him shine. It made me cry.

Love doesn't always stop when a relationship does...

This song was one of my favorites in the Fall of 1998, and I still love it today! One of the best Faith Hill songs, imo. It just brings back so many great memories, too.

I think the video is very symbolic of a breakup because (since I am currently going through one), you feel very empty and alone and restless and happiness just eludes you. Letting go of someone that you love because you know that the relationship isn't working and that its for the best doesn't make it any easier to let go.

I have not known any other American woman who is as beautiful as Faith. She is still beautiful till today.

This song helped me through high school especially my junior and senior year, which were the hardest years for me. I am very thankful for this song and for Faith Hill for being my inspiration :)

I lost my 2 youngest babies to CPS & even though thats not the real meaning of the song to me it is & I couldnt Thank Faith Hill in any words just with a great big teary hug!!!!!! I remember hearing this song for the first time I awoke from sleep to this lovely sad melody she was singing it on some awards show. This is one of my favorites of hers.

I think this is Faith Hills best song ever. And it's Vince Gill that sings backup will her on the video.

Country music is not my cup of tea, but this song is my favorite among all the ones i like. Whoever put this together is sheer genius: Perfect match of melody and lyrics; perfect match of melody, lyrics and voice. And with Vince Gill on background vocals, good God, there's nothing more to ask for. For me, this is the most beautiful song ever!!!!!!! Never had an experience that can even approximate to the story in the song, but those words surely get me straight in my heart.

I am just going to share this story with you. I was married for years, 21 and then he had an affair. Tons of things to say it was going to happen prior. We never really were, and then started to accumulate all this stuff. Stuff, to make anyone happy. Doesn't happen. I am much to blame for us even walking down the aisle. Won't go into all that. I just say, and this is a hard one. Find your self. Figure out who you really are. Spiritually, mentally, physically. Called the Centering of Yourself. I made that up, or not, but...Master's of Social Work. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE....THEN YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE PERFORMER. What comes with being the performer? You settle for less that your worth. You ask some person to fill up your void or need instead of just waiting or settling....for the best. Best of what. That Cinderella picture. Doesn't happen girl or woman. IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOURSELF....HOW CAN YOU INVITE ANYONE IN TO BE OF UNION WITH YOU. TRUST ME. YOU CAN'T. IT IS ALL JUST THIS MOTION OF....having to find this mate that does whatever this world has told you mates can do for you. Really? Tons of divorces and very unhappy connections. Go onto Craiglist and look at all the married people looking for a gap to fill. I just say. Perhaps you just need to take some time to find Who...Are....You....Really? Make a list. Stop looking for any man to fill it. Not saying the gent is not out there, but really, this is a lot of responsibility for any person who is into this whole phone gig, shit. The Twitter and tweeting and whatever the heck you all do. I am older. Didn't grow up with all this shit and life and love was much easier. I just say. Find your self. Be picky. There are a lot of marriages out there that on Craigslist are emptier than hell. Or men or women who are married and looking for a hook up. Just an FYI. With tons of love.

This song is incredible! Faith and Vince sound so beautiful together! This song touches my heart and soul in many ways. I was with someone for 12 years, and the relationship was unhealthy and unstable for most of those years. One of us would try to call it quits, but then come back. Then the other would do it. But the "breaks" never lasted. And then he passed away in March 2018...All those times when I would ask him to just let me go and for us to part ways. And then ironically, we did, but it was permanent. This song makes me think about all those years of our relationship! He will always have a piece of my heart and soul forever. I am very fortunate that someone else entered my life. I like to think that my ex, who is in Heaven, had a little something to do with me meeting the other man. He wanted me to find happiness again and true love. I am truly blessed to have my boyfriend and we are deeply in love. It is actually Bittersweet...💖😇🙏😘💖

By far in my opinion the most beautiful song faith has recorded to date!!! What a talent.

This song reminds me of someone....but unlike most that listen to this song and think of an ex......I listen to this and think of a man that i lost in a war.....I still miss him more then anything in this world...and think about how things could have been different....but I have moved on from lossing him...and have come to understand that he is never coming home...but....i will never let go....nor do I want to...the man that I have now is very understanding....as he is in the military as well.

Let Me Let Go!!! After 20 YRS. of marriage and wanting out for what seems like forever. But reading a few other comments, I now question if I could ever get him out of my mind. He's a good man & loves me but I'd be lying if I said I was in love with him anymore. I'm here in more of a friend way, no bedroom action in years. Yet, I believe he's been faithful & I have been too. I don't want another man, wasn't looking when he found me due to 2 previous bad marriages. I'm so unhappy with him. I don't feel he ever really listens to me or really cares about my heart. I share my day with him and he's not hearing me & blocks me out. He never shares his day away from me. We just exist together. I know I can't afford to live alone which is what I'd like, so I exist here and feel like I am throwing away more years that I could be happy yet alone. I've told him I'm done with him and he says you don't want to throw away us.....but there is no US!!! Stuck & don't know how to Let Go after a total of 23 years!!! ?????

+BevG181 I know exactly how you feel, our stories are almost the same. if you are religious or even spiritual, you need to get this book...The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian. Although I am now divorced and on my own, this book really helped me half way through my marriage. It taught me a lot of things about him and myself and I'm sure that if I'm lucky enough to find a good man that I want to spend the rest of my life with this book will definitely help.
