Are you keeping track of all of the expenses of your writing? Conferences, trainings, writing retreats, even going to a hotel to write, envelope mailers, paper, label printers and labels, computers, stands, cameras and lighting equipment, wrapping paper, editors, covers designers, etc. are all expenses you can deduct.

Being an adult is so hard sometimes. I work for a company and last year i had to pay taxes because my company didn't take out enough money from my paychecks. It is so devastating to owe money after working so hard to earn it in the first place. Glad you got to see Trinity, your target adventure looked fun!

Hey, if your account hasn't mention this, please look into IRA, IRAs are another way to save for retirement while reducing your taxable income. Idk if you ever had 401k, but they are similar. But since your so young, it be good idea to have Ira set up, to reduce your tax burden and to save for retirement.

Deduct ANY and everything you can! I keep track with a spreadsheet. It really does help.

Oh I feel for you, been having killer headaches for so long, and then got my eyes checked and found my prescription had doubled so new glasses and finally doing better. I hope your headache eased and you're doing better ❤

It’ll be ok!! It’s all going to work out and in a couple years you’re gonna be a boss at taxes and it’ll all be super easy. You’ll know how much to budget and it won’t be a surprise next year

Tylenol doesn't do anything for me but lower fever. If you can stomach it, aspirin could be a better choice. People in my family have that headache caused by weather, and it's their sinuses. :(

I think it is the same thing for me, I really should’ve gotten aspirin instead because I don’t think the Tylenol did much of anything. Now we know for next time!!!

I hope your headache got better Sarah! Having headaches suck, especially when they make your stomach upset too. Btw try motrin/Ibuprofen, it seems to work better for me then regular tylenol. (Not a dr or anything, I'd just thought I'd mention it from experience w/ headaches.) Sending u positive vibes Sarah! 💜

Hope you feel better now! My mom and I get migraines from changes in atmospheric pressure (weather), too. The struggle is real! 😭

SO REAL, UGH

Headache cure: ice cold glass of milk. Whole milk works best, but skim works, too.

Oh god, taxes...I haven't done mine yet (I've done half)...I probably won't have to pay this year. I had to during lockdown and that SUCKED. It was way more than I expected too...unemployment money made it so I had to pay a lot back. Not fun.

I get headaches all the time too, the weather ones are sucky. Hope you feel better ❤️‍🩹

And going forward you can deduct a portion of rent and utilities since you work from home. :)
