Art, you were able to get your 10 points again in Connections and be GRATEFUL for that. You are like a cat with 9 lives in this game and you ALWAYS land on your feet. You are also quite good in Wordle and Strands was OVERLY difficult today. My frustrations in Connections are these ONE AWAYS and I often overlook the easy categories. I will GLADLY trade places having your skills in these games, Art! I felt that you were indirectly BRAGGING when you complained about not cracking all three games anymore. Remember that you have viewers not being outstanding in these games.

I did about as spectacularly bad in Strands. I actually got "patterns" right away, but I didn't know many of them. Needed hints to spell most of them.

Paisley was the largest town in Scotland that wasn't a city ( city has different meaning in the UK). It had a large textile sector and became famous for brightly coloured , patterned shawls etc . The design was copied from Indian imported garments but became known as Paisley. I was more familiar with Paisley as the location for Wilsons Auction Mart who handled British Friesian cattle sales in Scotland.

Wordle in 4 YELLS BULLY DILLY DOLLY (I lucked out on this one!) Connections: Got every category, under 5 minutes, and no mistakes. only thing I didn't get is the order. Strands: Perfect score. Under 3 minutes, no hints, and Spangram first. Saw "Paisley", almost immediately, and got the Spangram within seconds. Took a little over 2 minutes to figure out the words though. Especially "Gingham". I'm only vaugely familiar with that one.

What saved me from a 6/6 or X/6 is that I remember having Jolly.

RED DELICIOUS prevented me from getting all my categories and it took me 6 tries to get DOLLY. Strands was a disaster for me because I do not know my patterns.

I got very lucky. Scoredle 3/6* 14,855 🟨⬜🟩🟩⬜ YELLS (37) ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 HOLLY (11) 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 DOLLY I remembered some words used in the past and that really helped. Strands took time. As a scrapbooker, these patterns shouldn't have taken me so long to get. Connections was fun. It was a bit from Sesame Street that let me recognize the News to Gnus.

WORDLE: As usual, i despise repeat letters so I found a different Y color: "Yield (Dutch Boy) is another brilliant yellow shade with strong golden orange undertones. Inspired by the harvest or “yield” of a field of crops towards the end of the year, Yield (Dutch Boy) is a rich yellow-gold with plenty of life and potential." YIELD DRYLY DOLLY. Got aggressive (skipped PUNCH TORAS) and got reasonably lucky because DALLY and DULLY were both there too. In hindsight I should have played it safer. -------- STRANDS 113, 8 Took me 18:43 to solve this because I didn't know the last two words. I stared at it for a long time trying to preserve super hard mode, but eventually I gave up and had to brute force it. -------- CONNECTIONS 379, 8.5 4+3.5 base, time bonus How You Would Describe a Slight Injury (1) Animal Homophones (1) Meal Courses (0.5) Red ____ (1) I probably should have gotten the color order right but I was flustered and rushed it at about 4:30 when I hadn't figured out the purple yet. Never heard of "Red Delicious"

Very interesting to play a game where two challenges (logic and memory) shift over time.

I once invented Froot Sticker Hero as a parody of Guitar Hero so I could teach someone to play simple tunes without knowing any music theory. I know my froot stickers! 🤪

@@hopechazz I found it quite difficult. Two mistakes and I couldn't name the blue category, which I got by default. Here's my post from yesterday: Connections Puzzle #378 🟨🟨🟨🟩 Tried to group CHILL with the "settle down" category 🟪🟨🟪🟪 Was thinking of "the Big Easy" (nickname for New Orleans) 🟩🟩🟩🟩 Words for respiratory infections 🟪🟪🟪🟪 Nicknames for cities 🟨🟨🟨🟨 Words you say to calm someone down 🟦🟦🟦🟦 ? Very confounding. So many overlaps. I never heard of Magic City...thought it might have something to do with Disneyland or Disneyworld.
