The Honda engine sounds nothing like its real life counterpart, actually the Renault engine on downshifts sounds really close to the Honda engine on downshifts and off throttle in real life.

Immense improvement! Sounds wise I'd put F1 2018 right behind F1 2020 like I would with the overall gaming experience. This doesn't mean F1 2019 sounds bad tbh. I just believe some games are better balanced than others. I don't dislike the engine sounds on F1 2019. They just took their traditional approach and some didn't like it. F1 2020 and F1 2018 unlike the rest of the franchise were solely focused on sounds coming from the engine itself AND from the exhaust. The exhaust sounds are quite noticeable in both games. F1 2020 just seems to be on a higher level when compared with F1 2018. F1 2019 like most other codies releases was focused on internal engine sounds with deep classical V6 growls unlike the ones you get to here nowadays where pops, loud cracks and deepened V10-ish screams overwhelm the engine itself. With F1 2020's release, codemasters have solved most of the problems surrounding F1 2018 given that F1 2018 is the 2nd best game from codies to this date (imo). However F1 2020 is still lacking the electrical whinings coming from the gearbox, turbo, electric engine etc...

I definitely agree with you. I think in the 2020 version the sound has definitely improved a heck ton and with the inclusion of the exterior exhaust sounds, 👌👌👌. The only thing they could improve is the Honda downshift, have more of a pop and growl to them like in real life.

I loved the Toro Roso Honda in 2018/2019 but 2020 2021 not so much.

The honda has improved alot in 2020 compared to 2019. In 2019 i think it didnt even have the crackling sound while in 2020 yes its there but its not that much and louder like irl

2018 is by far the best sounding game 2019 wasn’t bad but had a few cars that there was a noticeable difference in like the Ferrari and toro rosso and then 2020 is just all over the place it’s the furthest thing from what the cars sounded like that session the Mercedes and Renault sound the same cool sound but nothing like what it was in real life the Ferrari was just to flat and the Honda engine sounds like there’s a lose screw inside of it

@@broshido2745 There is a slight growl at low revs in the Honda engine in F1 2020, if you put your ear up to your speaker, you can just about hear it...

Sorry but the exhaust effect we hear on onboard view on tv is not there at all. These sounds misses so many details. I can describe how disappointed I am, when you hear these F1 cars and you know Codemasters can make very immersive rally sounds in DiRT Rally 2. Even modders on PC can make better sounds than this video shows. Codemasters and EA need to step up their audio team on F1 2021.

Only Ferrari from 2018 is acceptable, the rest of 2018 and 2019 sounds are unacceptable and pure garbage. F1 2020 is definitely a step in the right direction but, it is still nowhere near the real sound.

@@gigasigma8373 Yeah, one can say that my first sentence has a degree of ambiguity. What I meant to say was that, of 2018 and 2019 sounds, the only sound I really liked is the 2018 Ferrari. I like the 2020 Ferrari as well. On the other hand, take the 2020 Honda for example; it's completely different from the real-life counterpart.

2018 is best game in many ways including sound, it's last one with weight balancing too, 2019 only has a good Ferrari and 2020 is completely ruined by the haze, it has a few good idling sounds especially Renault.
