@@Adderall44 The 2019 tires have a chrome layer on top when they are new. This effect wears off after 2 laps. So no graphical update but a real life change beforehand. :)

@@Adderall44 Yeah it's the new releasing agent Pirelli Is using for this year's tires, but IMO the tires don't wear down evenly in F1 2019 as they do IRL, and that bothers me a lot.

2019 more realistic especially night scenes... next to push these lighting effects on MotoGP series...

@@LemmingOnFire Those guys are pouring their hearts into MotoGP and Ride games dude… I know MotoGP games are worse than F1 games in quite a few aspects, but Milestone definetly aren't rubbish. Unlike F1 games, if they come up with something new for their games, they keep it in the game and don't remove it the year after just to bring it back 2 years later so more People will buy their games.

The tyres look so much better The lighting looks so much better (especially at night) Driver transfers Customisable liveries in multiplayer F2 More historic cars Updated drivers AI improvements Soooo much better handling And so much more - one of the best f1 games to date, but should u buy it at full price? No, wait for sale. Never buy any games at full price

Hey ! I'm discovering your channel through this video and it is very neat. Lightning is indeed so much better in F1 2019 and I love how it makes racing with rain or at night way more realistic. Does the game uses the RTX technology? It might also explain the reduction of the resolution of some textures as it can counterbalance a bit the performance hit.

All these graphical changes are really unimportant. F1 2019 outperforms its predecessor by a mile for one thing : DRIVER TRANSFERS! Finally! :)

@@noahgroenewoud4754 The changes in career mode are minor though. The entire F2 part barely lasts for more than a few short races and driver transfers aren't changing gameplay much either. AI does seem to be more enjoyable to race against though from what I've seen. Still...F1 2018 was like 13 euros in a recent sale, compared to a full 60 euro for F1 2019, the choice is easy to make for me.

Noone seemed to be surprized, right? :) Anyway, I haven't finished yet with things in F1 2018. I can wait for a Steam discount without any problem. Everyone who judges the selling price too expensive may do so as well.

I bought F1 2019 when it was on 70% off sale, it is awesome.

Love the changes in 2019. Don’t know for sure but it’s gotta be somewhere in the top 3 or 5 for best night lighting right? In a racing game that is. Anyways I love it.

I'm quite surprised you didn't do a sound comparison between the Renault engines.

Did you check textures on other track surfaces? Because it looks like you were on Silverstone, and that was resurfaced in real life between 2018 and 2019

Great video thankyou. The new lighting model on the environment, car an car directly infront of me are what I care about, plus the my car's improved engine sounds. I don't use outside view because I'm not a r****d so that sound is irrelevant. The night races look especially impressive. Top comparison. Thanks again. It's appreciated. :-)

one thing they added is that u can hear now when ur car is making sparks. On long straights u can hear the scratching on the floor like irl.

It's an improvement over 2009 game.... Still can't believe people buy one and the same game every year... This could make a good science paper.

The lighting is by far the biggest change. 2019 looks really fantastic.

2018 sounds more real, loud and intense. 2019 is muffled and sounds far away.

I think they lowered some of the textures and removed some of the landscape on purpose. It may effect the performance significantly.

2019 is my first F1 game and I was pretty blown away with all the realism. 2018 looks like it has some advantages in detail and texture though.

F1 2019 = F1 2018 + new lighting system + 2014 engine sound

i like the sound and the night lightning in the 2019s. but textures and details are much better on the 2018s. they should add a texture pack where u can choose for yourself.

The sound is different because of the engines have been upgraded and better. U should have tried doing the sound design test with the Classic Cars that are in both games!

Curious, what did you use to record game play? I’m playing @ 4k and using Bandicam is not too great

I noticed that when u drive the lotus and lock up the front tires the smoke is coming from the size of a f1 car from nowadays

The lighting is better but the graphics on ultra look like 2018 on medium. What the hell guys? They are toggleable on PC for a reason. 2080ti shouldnt need to sacrifice anything to gain somewhere else, thats why its called ultra settings. Let me worry about my framerate at max settings, dont lower the quality to save epeen ego

What do you mean ultra looks like 2018 on medium? If you're talking about the models it's just optimization issues for the game. If you have a beefy card but the game is poorly optimized it doesn't matter. That's why there are certain games like the Watch Dogs franchise that run ok with beefy PCs but if you have anything below the extreme best you can't play at a decent frame rate, whereas games like GTA V when they were released they could be played on pentium 4s with GT 210s (awfully obviously but it could be done). Games can and should be taxing for high graphics, but should be optimized well enough for you to be able to play with a normal PC with medium range card and CPU

@@MisoElEven F2 didn't do much. For a game that supposedly was in development for 2 years it didn't change much. Drivers changing teams is the only thing I can see that could make a bit of a difference, however people were used to it with mods on the PC. The graphics didn't change that much tbh, besides the night lights and tyre reflections and rain

For i prefer environmental appeal of 18 which is what i love the most in any game, lighting alone is fine but not enough, itd like fifa 18 and 19 same game different colour lighting

Monaco : That was the new paddock building which includes a toilet/washroom/loo inside the building which the crew would have to cross the street to "get the job done" before.

Actually I can live with slightly lowered texture resolution in order to get that realistic lighting effects around the map if I am to keep the performance same.

We do have to remember that f1 2019 was an early release game

So they get a pass for charging full price at release? Give me a break. Releasing a game early is their choice, not something that was forced. Stop giving companies credit for releasing half baked projects just to meet an arbitrary deadline rather than put in the time to polish the game for what it should be. Before the internet and the "I'll just update it later" mentality games actually use to come complete, and polished... Imagine that.

2:18 that spot is really an onboard camera

The lighting is such an improvement that it hides lower Res textures or more distracts from them that you don't notice as much. It is a shame the textures were lowered mainly the tarmac/asphalt as they looked really good in 2018

Cmon, are you really looking at the tarmac and trees and the people when you're playing and racing? Hell, if they added a lower option for graphics (for them integrated graphic users out there) that could take sky, buildings, people etc out of the game to make it look smoother, people would have the same experience

@@pedrosilvamusician Why not have both? Good lighting and tarmac? Oh because then they couldn't sell you the 2020 edition that includes BOTH! Yes I as well as many others appreciate the tarmac and tree textures. Not on a second by second basis but overall it completes the experience; as does the lighting. No reason to upgrade one while downgrading the other unless you're catering to a fixed hardware demographic... console players. In the every evolving world of pc's there's absolutely no reason they couldn't have had both other than milking the cow in the future or pure lazyness.

They didn't reduce the amount of details in textures but rather the intensity of the bump maps. Now the crevices seem to be "less deep", but to be honest, they look more realistic this way, at least when it comes to the asphalt.
