Genki is a loving gorilla.She is practical no nonsense and has deep love for her sons. She has taught Momotaro many things. I have deep respect for Genki and it is distasteful to hear comments about her feeding habits. Why not seek to understand why she eats so much. She has trouble chewing and digesting and therefore would need more food for nutrition. She is beautiful in my eyes and the best mother. She learned this from Hiromi who was a great mom too. Thank you Hiromi for passing on that motherly love to Genki.

Beautiful family not in their native environment in the forest. Of course they will adapt as best as they can. The only one that has two parents is Kintaro. Momotaro was not socialized around male gorillas. Had his mom till age 6 years. Genki was bullied and had loss. Of course they are a product of their upbringing and living in unnatural environment. I just love them and don't judge them. There is no moralizing in the gorilla world. Kintaro was raised by humans for 10 months or so. He lost some of the bonding but Genki accepted him when he returned and nurtured him until Kintaro was born. Some people have strong morals that they project onto primates. They

I disagree . Momotoro shouldn't have to teach Gentoro any kind of Mating skills . Infact he is teaching him the wrong idea. Gorrills don't have to be tought nothing about mating. Their instincts is their teacher 👍. Now Gentoro is going to mess with KENNY. That is a problem that Momotoro is starting .😝😲😝😝👎

Since Mo never had the opportunity to learn from his father he is lacking life skills to share with his sons. I don't think his behavior is like the average Silverback.

I agree. I’m no expert of course but couldn’t they like play videos that he could watch? Gorillas are really smart if all he needs to do is watch then give him something to watch lol

I think it's absurd . Gorrills have that natural instincts to know what to do when the time comes . Gentoro is only 10-11 years old. Momotoro need to teach him other things and leave that alone . It could be also because Ginka has her issues right now , and haven't been giving him the time of day . If you notice Momotoro always tries that shit when Ginka is not around . That turned me off about him . Iam not going to sugar coat it either . It's not cute !! It's a problem .

OMG..He clearly knows how to mate or he wouldn't have 2 sons! I have seen him try to mate with Genke a lot, but she walks away or Kintaro is right there! He needs a mate that is his age and some PRIVACY for petes sakes!!!! I blame this on the keepers there! Poor Momotaro and Gentaro! It's so sad..😔

@@katerinachetirko1656 I believe so, and this is why. Since Kintaro is being weaned, Genki breasts becomes noticeably enlarged. Once he breastfeeds, they shrink back down to their previous size.

finish my comment. People who have strong morals that they project onto primates perhaps should leave this channel. We are not primatologists and perhaps done understand abhorrent behavior but my take is to have compassion for these gorillas. Humans incarcerated have to cope to the best they know. I just love them and don't judge them. This is the reality of their situation. Unless you are there day to day perhaps more understanding would dawn. a couple of videos gives no justice to the full picture. Just saying. Peace to all

To anyone that thinks Momotaro isn’t acting right, consider where this gorilla family is, regardless of cause. You see what humans do when they’re locked up in a confined area. I’m not anti-zoo when the alternative is death, I’m just saying you have to consider the circumstances for ‘unusual’ behavior. I will say that the zoo should be doing something to correct this, it shouldn’t be looked at as Momotaro’s fault but the zoos.

Mating is not rocket science for animals of any kind .. their instincts kick in and nature of reproduction starts . 👍 Maybe he just need to get more satisfaction from Ginka or another female . Molesting his son is not natural . Gentoro also could be the one that needs some relief , but not that way . Like any teenage boys that goes in the bathroom and take long showers 😝🤣😝🤣 . Gentoro is probably trying to tell zookeepers something .

Genki is not in estrus. That is according to Gorilla Man who works at the zoo and does live and not live videos talking about these gorillas and he answers questions. I think it would benefit everyone to subscribe to his channel and keep up with it. Then you would understand everything much better.

They shouldn't allow father Gorilla mess with the son gorilla, now the son gorilla is always going to continue that with his boy gorilla. Some humans in this world has no morals everything going crazy. I don't like to see humans and animals having no morals. I won't be watching this gorilla family anymore. I enjoyed watching it for awhile until I seen the father and son gorilla having sex that are allow by humans. Goodby!!!!

Gentaro is a big guy over 200lbs,momo is teaching him.Momo is trying bless him.He&Genki mate wen Genki says so.Mating season is upon them he is picking up the scent of her early as alot of Silverbacks do.Gentaro has to learn so he is showing him wat he knows I think. Kintar is becoming an idenpendent baby gorilla but on the other hand Gentaro is still spoiled and wants to get more attentions from his mother Genki. It seems to be connected with his frist ten and half months even now.

This whole thing with him molesting his son's has disturbed me big time . Some people say it is because Momotoro did not get mating lesson when he was a you g man . I say bullshit !! Gorrills don't need mating lesson . It's the instincts of the wild their animal instinct and the need for reproduction tell them how and what to do . Along with a mate that incourges him or her . . It's has to have stem from somewhere this pattern of his that been going on for a while . Next Gentoro is going to be trying it on kenny (Kentoro) . Ginka always smells their buttocks I guess to see if dad had mess with it . So sad , because what can she do !! She has given him two bueatiful sons and this is what he is doing . Zoo keepers need to FIX IT . Instead of encouraging such behavior 😲😝😲 the recycling of gorrilla life is at stake 👍❤️😍

At 6:55 you’ll see one of the many reasons Momotaro is not a good leader, and should not be given the opportunity to produce more offspring that “playful” looking move he did is something a male will do to a female before they mate At 7:13 you’ll find another reason… Momotaro attempts to mate with gentaro (which seems to be extremely common over the last two months) Momotaro seems to prefer mating with Gentaro over Genki and if he prefers male companionship over females then more power to him, it’s 2022 why not. But all joking aside him continually attempting to mate with gentaro has caused Gentaro to try and mate with kintaro and kintaro now tries to mate with the red or blue ball (I’ve seen both colors in the cage with them)… I know Momotaro didn’t have a silverback to teach him all of the stuff a silverback should teach a blackback but his lack of interest in mating with a female shows gentaro that you don’t need a female to mate. But sadly for the population of gorillas to increase you do need males to mate with females rather than teach them bad habits because they don’t know any better… If you don’t agree with me cool, it’s 2022 and people are entitled to their own opinions. And before anyone goes bashing me trying to call me a bigot because I know that it takes a male and a female to procreate. My only issue is he’s not teaching his boys what they need to do in order to increase the population of gorillas on the planet. Granted he doesn’t know there’s a population issue, they still need to know how to mate or the species will continue to dwindle in numbers and be endangered. Also I know bringing another silverback in isn’t the answer in this situation too because of kintaro being young and not his offspring there’s a chance he could be killed. I’m just saying, Momotaro is not fit for leadership… And please don’t try to have a debate with me, about it. You’re entitled to your opinion as I am mine and that’s all I’ve gotta say about that…

Gentaro loves it. He struts around Momo wanting it and his Dad obliges me. Gentaro started this freaky mess and now Momo prefer him over Genki. Everyone thinks Gentaro will make Annie a good mate. They will better off getting Lope. Kinny will probably go after Kiyomasa.

No, they can mount them, but there is no sex. This kind of behavior is not uncommon among gorillas, they do it as a form of displaying dominance, or as a part of play, and even bonding among males. No real mating happening, of course.

I can only recall one time with wild gorillas in the congo. If you look up the documentary about Titus who is probably the most popular and truly amazing gorilla of them all, he and a group of other males got abandoned by a group of females "forgot reason why" but 4-7 silverbacks lived with eachother for 3 years and would mate with eachother. Not sure why but they say it was to practice which may be true.- Not saying thats what Momo is doing, I truly think he is just confuse or Genki wasnt available when he wanted to.
